Miami81 · 14/06/2017 05:46

Sweety
There is always hope until it is confirmed what is happening with a scan. I haven't had the type of bleeding you are describing (runny, pink) but no pain sounds like a good thing to me. If anything gets out of control before you can speak to epu make sure to ring nhs24 and speak to a medical advisor.

yellowfrontdoor · 14/06/2017 06:21

Sweety Flowers

Thinking of you & keeping everything crossed.

As Miami said, can you get in touch with EPU?

beanhunter · 14/06/2017 07:00

Sweety hope you've managed some rest. Can you get seen today? How far along are you? (I've not managed to read back the whole thread). Sending prayers.

emvy · 14/06/2017 08:19

Sweety, I'm so sorry you're having worrying symptoms. How scary Sad I hope you get seen by EPU quickly, get on the phone asap!

Sweetyboo · 14/06/2017 08:32

@sweety So glad the bleeding has stopped and there's no pain, that's a really good sign. Both my cousin and best friend both had significant bleeds in the first trimester and one is now 34 weeks and the other has a happy and healthy wee boy. Hope you manage to get through the day okay and we'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

emvy · 14/06/2017 12:14

Praying the bleeding stays away and for you to receive good news tomorrow sweety.

I've still got the brown cm that I had yesterday. I've also had that tugging feeling, not cramps so much, almost like a pulling, so hoping that's unrelated. OH has agreed to a scan between 8-10 weeks if I get that far so I'll mention the cm to the midwife at my booking in appointment next week and fingers crossed I make it to the private scan.

Sweetyboo · 14/06/2017 12:38

Hi ladies just been to the midwife & good news heard a strong heartbeat yeayyy. I had no hope after the massive bleeding this morning but midwife was so happy for me. Ive got my 12w scan tom too praying all goes well. Bleeding stoped but still spotting🤷🏻‍♀️its a brown spots on pad. But im not worried now. I hope scan gives me good news & no probs. Goid luck ladies & thank you SO MUCH whoever shows concern.

JCleRoux · 14/06/2017 12:44

@Sweetyboo I've been refreshing my browser hoping to hear from you. What a relief! So happy for your good news.

Fingers crossed for you @emvy that you make it to eight weeks with no further spotting.

TootsyBella84 · 14/06/2017 12:52

Hello all! 👋
14 weeks today for me, hello second trimester, I didn't think I would ever get here!
An embarrassing one coming from me. Has anyone had any issues with, Erm, being bunged up down the bottom end? 😂 I don't know if it's a common pregnancy issue (I didn't have it with my other 2 children) or if it's to do with all the anti-sickness meds I'm still taking but it's horrendous! I'm going to try drinking fresh orange to see if it helps, any other tips?

@sweety I'm so sorry to see you're bleeding but Yay for hearing the heartbeat today! Will be thinking about you at your scan tomorrow x

@emvy I had brown cm starting at 7ish weeks and it continued until the 11th week. No reason could be found behind it, it was just put down to my body clearing out old stuff. I hope it's just the same for you! X

TheLegendOfBeans · 14/06/2017 13:07

Tootsy read my post from yesterday; I've been so bunged up I swear it was hampering baby's movements Shock

The only thing that'll really move you along is prunes/figs plus prune juice.

Worth forking out for the Sunsweet brand x

theotherendofthesockportal · 14/06/2017 13:28

@TootsyBella84 for the first time in my life I am bunged up! Normally I suffer with IBS, since around 5 weeks I am now going around twice a week!

JCleRoux · 14/06/2017 14:35

@Tootsy I'm so bunged up back there I'm scared to go to the toilet when erm... nature calls. So every Saturday and Sunday morning I down a glass of prune juice and that does the trick. I can't eat prunes. Just can't.

Good luck!

Oh and yay to second trimester!

I have a sore throat today and been blowing my nose loads. Think it's a cold. Pharmacist says there's nothing to take although last night I ate a losenge only to Google and discover they're not recommended in pregnancy. Now I'm trying to convince myself not to worry. Sigh.

WLMcI · 14/06/2017 15:06

JCLeRoux gargle with warm salty water for a sore throatit's the best remedy I've ever come across for a truly sore throat, and I used to have a job that was basically shouting all day! For the head bit, I think it's perfectly safe to put a bit of Vicks or some menthol or eucalyptus drops into a bowl of steaming water and steam your head under a towelbut obviously check this first. It was recommended for hay fever while pregnant in a MN article though.

Sweetyboo I'm so glad that you were able to get a heartbeat after that very scary night you had! Good luck on your scan tomorrow. X

peachgreen · 14/06/2017 15:38

@sweety SO relieved that everything is okay! Let us know how you get on with your scan.

@emvy That all sounds very normal, the pulling sensation. My brown CM stayed for about 4 days and then disappeared - all fine now. Hope it's the same for you.

@Tootsy YUP. I've NEVER had problems before but I have now! If prune juice doesn't work for you your GP can prescribe Lactulose.

@Jcle Oh no, colds are the worst. I had THREE whilst TTC in the 2WW so didn't take any medication. Lots of Vicks Vapour Rub and Olbas Oil on a tissue are what worked for me! Hope you feel better soon!

I'm still feeling nauseous ALL DAY LONG. Saw both a consultant and the midwife yesterday (I have a cyst that they're monitoring). Consultant says I'm not to put on ANY weight whilst pregnant. Midwife says that's impossible. So I'm caught between a a rock and a hard place! So far I haven't but the nausea is absolutely slaying me. :(

MonkeyPoozzled76 · 14/06/2017 17:11

Just catching up on the thread as I'd lost you all somehow.....

Sweety I've read the last page with my heart in my mouth for you, so glad you got to hear the heartbeat today, excellent news, let us know how your scan goes tomorrow.

Miami brilliant scan news.

Tootsy I feel your pain, I'm currently on the prune juice as suggested by Beans, it's grim (I've been mixing it with orange juice which helps) but it is helping. Might ask the doc to prescribe something else just I case it gets any worse, I've been fine up until now but the Midwife informs me it's to do with having a surge in relaxin, so a good sign that all is as it should be Hmm

I've just come back from my 16 week Midwife check. Very, very relieved to heard little man's heartbeat instantly, I've been terrified about this even though I have a proper bump now. I've started feeling little flips and taps over the last weekend (amazing!) but had nothing at all yesterday so was freaking. I had a good cry afterwards, and a celebratory ice lolly.

I do need to be refered for physio as my hip has got much worse, any more than 30mins driving or walking and I'm in agony, Midwife if not sure if it's a pregnancy thing as I've got a degenerated disc in my lower spine that caused some nasty problems with my left leg a few years ago, it's the right leg this time but I've got altered sensation as well which sounds like nerves being squished to me. No iead how long the appointment will take to come through...

conkerchops · 14/06/2017 17:23

@sweety so pleased they found the heart beat - was reading with everything crossed for you! Good luck for 12 week scan tomorrow!
@emvy I've also had the brown cm today - completely freaked out and thought it must mean everything is over - tang EPU and they have said could be absolutely nothing to worry about and to monitor it and if still there next week when I would be 7 weeks to go in for an early scan - I had been trying to resist the early scans they were offering g me but after this horrendous scare will definitely take them up on it now!
The nurse was so so lovely though and spoke to dh and told him to come home and be with me! Which he did and made me tea and I had a nice nap and feel a bit calmer now! All I can do is keep everything crossed that the brown cm is totally normal and all is still ok!!!!!

beanhunter · 14/06/2017 18:12

Another one in the brown cm club here. Tests are dark though so hoping all ok - no point in a scan yet as too early.
As for lactulose you can buy it in the chemist, don't need a prescription. 10ml up to 3 times a day. I used it when pregnant with dd.

NoParticularPattern · 14/06/2017 18:27

peach I'm with you on the nausea situation. I've not actually been sick, but good lord it is not far off sometimes! I almost wish it was like with a tummy bug or hangover that if you're sick you'd feel better, but I have this horrid feeling that if I started I wouldn't stop! I haven't found anything yet that fully makes me feel human again- I just keep trying to eat whatever I can manage whenever I feel vaguely hungry as it definitely gets much worse when I'm starved! I feel hungover ALL THE TIME. It's exhausting. Only 7 more weeks until I'm out of the first trimester and might start to feel better!! Eurgh

Also yay sweety so pleased you heard a heartbeat!!

emvy · 14/06/2017 18:54

Wonderful, wonderful news sweetie!

Thanks again for reassuring brown cm messages!

Conker, glad you got some reassurance from EPU and are feeling better. It's steadily increased this afternoon and I am most definitely cramping. My GP said the same when I rang for advice though - to monitor and if it gets worse/more painful then to call back but otherwise wait and see how the next week goes. In a way I'm glad I don't have to go for an early scan too, I feel the same about the early scans - I'd rather have a certain at 8 weeks with any result, the not knowing is awful!

My closest friend is one day ahead of me in her pregnancy. She had an early scan due to a heart problem she has and they found a little heartbeat for her baby. So so pleased for her but I feel like there is so much pressure on my pregnancy to also have a good outcome... and I'm really not feeling very positive about my pregnancy at all. I just can't seem to find a positive frame of mind in any way!

theotherendofthesockportal · 14/06/2017 19:32

Ladies I have a TMI question... has anyone else experienced more discharge at 18 weeks pregnant? Its not thrush but gloopy and white. It's the first time I've noticed it today.
