Mama I'm glad to hear your DH said that, you should not have been left distressed and feeling as if you were wasting anyone's time. Crossing everything that your scan is all ok today.
Same to you Issy. xx

mammabear4 · 09/06/2017 12:01

Thanks Haz. Feeling sick with nerves sitting in Nando's with DH and DD, usually my absolute fave (which is why we came to try to distract) but I can't even eat! Will be glad when this afternoon is over xx

peachgreen · 09/06/2017 13:57

Glad you got a heartbeat @Issywizzybelle - could your dates be out maybe? If I went by my LMP instead of my ovulation date I'd be measuring almost a week behind too.

@mammabear4 Good luck, really thinking of you. Flowers

mammabear4 · 09/06/2017 15:03

Thanks peach good news!!!

Both little ones absolutely fine! They looked like jelly babies 😄 both wriggling away with lovely strong heartbeats. So so relieved.

The sonographer also had a look round and found bruising on the bottom of one of the sacs which was right next to the entrance of the uterus and she said that was probably the cause of the bleeding, nothing to worry about but to expect more as it obviously hasn't all cleared yet. So we've actually got a likely answer for the bleeding too which is great!

So a wonderful day all round! Although the nurse mentioned something about no intercourse until the 20 week scan and DH's face fell a bit ha! Xx

peachgreen · 09/06/2017 15:12

@mammabear4 Oh fantastic! I'm delighted for you!

mammabear4 · 09/06/2017 15:17

@peachgreen thank you 😊💜
Oh measuring a tiny bit behind as well but they said nothing to worry about. Twin 1 measuring 9+5 and twin 2 measuring 9+3. EDD 7th Jan but more than likely to come December (hopefully not Christmas Day though)

JCleRoux · 09/06/2017 21:48

Good news all around from @issywizzybelle and @mamabear4!

So pleased for you @mama especially after that terrible encounter with the other nurse on the phone. Good on your DH for standing up for you. Fantastic that the twins are still doing great.

I had my book in appointment over the phone today. I was all ready to go in but got a call saying they have 'staffing issues' and that they would call me. Whole thing took 40 minutes and I have to go in on Tuesday for blood tests.

Also, thank you everyone for your responses too. I am slowly allowing myself to feel happy. It's like what you say @AnUtterIdiot, I can't help what may or not not happen in the future, I am going to try and be happy today.

Thread has moved so fast again! Sure I'm stuck in next week!

Congrats to everyone who has had positive news, so happy to see positive outcomes.

@LisaSimpsonsbff so so sorry love, take care of yourself and hope to see you back again soon.

21+1 for me now. I still can't believe I'm this far already. Seems to have flown by. I still don't really feel pregnant apart from the fact that my baby girl is kicking at my bladder and feel like her feet are going to pop out of my floof any minute. She's breech and will stay that way as my other dd's did!
Two weeks ago my brothers wife gave birth to their beautiful twin boys via csection 8 weeks early due to preeclampsia. Baby boy 1 luca weighed in at 3lb 7oz and baby boy 2 Louie was 2lb 6oz so very tiny. Within 24 hours both were feeding and not needing any help with their breathing 👏🏻👏🏻 clever boys! 2 weeks on, both have gained over a pound in weight, have been out of their incubators having cuddles with my sis in law and my brother and their other 3 kids!
I've been to see them twice but darent touch them, my brother keeps hugging me and asking if I'm ok too. Obviously part of me is sad as I don't have my twin boys but I'm besotted by those tiny boys, they're just so tiny and amazing! I'm the proudest auntie ever 😁😁

AmyB1986 · 09/06/2017 22:40

That was supposed to say last week not next week! I don't know if that was me or the phone this time 😆

theotherendofthesockportal · 11/06/2017 10:51

I need a bit of a hand hold, plus some sense talked into me...

I'm a 17+3 today and last night I was horrendously sick, this is the first time in the pregnancy that I was sick and think it was probably more to do with eating something that didn't agree with me.

Earlier in the week I thought I had felt bubble popping movements but now I haven't felt anything for a few days. It's too early for those to be reliable right?

Is anyone around to offer me some advice?

peachgreen · 11/06/2017 11:27

@theotherendofthesockportal Definitely too early to feel movements reliably. Is this your first? I believe most women don't feel movements regularly (if at all!) until later on in pregnancy with their first, more like 22-25 weeks. So it's still very early. The chances of anything going wrong at this stage are so tiny - between 0.5% and 1.5% - so it's almost certain that everything is fine. Both my cousin and best friend warned me that they stopped feeling pregnant entirely between about 15 to 23 weeks and it was very scary - but totally normal. I'd give your midwife a call tomorrow if you're still worried, especially given you were sick - more than likely nothing to worry about but a good justification for a call. Could you arrange a reassurance scan?

SayItIsntSo1 · 11/06/2017 11:31

Oh @theotherendofthesockportal I have been through those weeks and they aren't easy. I'm 25wks tomorrow and would say it took until around 20wks for me to notice baby every day. I first felt something at about 16wks and then nothing much until 19. My midwife was great at squeezing me in for a listen with the Doppler once after I'd had an upset stomach and was worried. Would that be possible for you?

We are ticking along. Bought dd her big girl bed last night so that we can move her furniture for bubs no.2 and give her time to settle. We actually don't need the cot for ages but will need the matching drawers from day 1 so just changing wholesale.

Has anyone used a bednest? I'm not sure I want to reuse our Moses basket but I had to move dd away from our bed in those early months and get ear plugs as every snuffle and grunt woke me, so I am probably romanticising having something right next to the bed... I also then found the story about the 7wk old that died and became even less certain.

theotherendofthesockportal · 11/06/2017 11:47

@peachgreen and @SayItIsntSo1 thank you for your replies, I do feel reassured after reading what you have wrote. Yes, this baby is my first. I'm feeling much better today than I did last night, I'm staying in bed with my husband waiting on me.

I think I will call the midwife if I end up feeling worse again. Pregnancy is such a mine field. Roll on November when she arrives!

NoParticularPattern · 12/06/2017 08:03

Morning ladies! I'm back from my hen do- somehow managed to keep my pregnancy secret since I just couldn't face the inevitable baby talk if I'd told them.

I felt ok whilst I was away- probably because we were busy- but I now feel absolutely dire! Probably a combination of too much nice food and mental hormones. I feel very hungover despite no y having had a drink for months!!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend- I'm going read back through this afternoon to update myself!

peachgreen · 12/06/2017 09:46

Well done Pattern, that's quite a feat! Sorry you're feeling rotten - I'm right there with you. 7+2 today and my "morning sickness" is firmly established as "all day long sickness", with not much giving relief bar the carby, starchy meals I'm trying to avoid for the sake of my BMI. Bah! I'm delighted to be pregnant but oh my goodness, I feel horrendous!

JCleRoux · 12/06/2017 13:41

Morning all.

@otherendofthesockportal how are you feeling? Hope you rested over the weekend and feeling a lot better.

@NoParticularPattern well done you! Sorry you're feeling rubbish but sounds like it was all worth it

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/06/2017 14:24

@JCleRoux thank you, I am feeling much better now, luckily I had today and tomorrow booked as annual leave. One friend bought me round a sausage and egg sandwich this morning and I am going on a spa day tomorrow with another friend.

How is everyone else?

I'm counting down to my 20 week scan - 18 days to go! I have it in my head I will feel better after that milestone.

Sweetyboo · 12/06/2017 21:18

@mammabear4 im happy to hear both cuties are ok. I hope every1 having good news. I have my 12w scan on thu worried but 60% i will be ok fingers crossed.

grainmum · 12/06/2017 21:30

@amyB how are you doing? Hope discharge has settled for you.

AmyB1986 · 12/06/2017 22:40

@grainmum thanks for asking it's still ongoing. My swabs came back and I still have GBS despite having treatment from my dr.
Hope you're ok

emvy · 13/06/2017 06:31

Hi guys, please may I join? I've been hovering a while but feel like it's the right time. Lovely to see some familiar names and to hear of little flickering heartbeats and wriggling beans! Gutted for you lisasimpsonsbff Sad

Had surgical management for a mmc of twins at the beginning of march. Finally got my nice clear bfp last Friday after a week of chasing squinters so I was relieved and positive for about 24 hours.

Now, I'm back to full panic mode. How do you cope? I have barely any symptoms to speak of - the odd boob niggle (although mostly nothing, however hard I squeeze them!), weeing a little more and feeling a bit more tired. That's it though and they're so subtle. Last time, I had mega symptoms and these continued for a week after surgery. Obviously that didn't mean anything but I'm freaking out all the same. I need tips for not being a nervous wreak - the 12 week scan is an age away and I just have a horrible feeling this isn't going to turn out well.

So sorry to bring a downer of negativity into the thread but that's why I feel it's the right time to join - I need your help!

emvy · 13/06/2017 06:32

I'll be 5+4 going from af dates by the way Smile

peachgreen · 13/06/2017 09:17

@emvy Congratulations! I'm so pleased to see you on here, so nice to have so many graduates from TTC after MC.

I had loads of early symptoms with my MMC - incredible fatigue, sore boobs, insomnia, sore back - but this time round, barring on and off sore nipples, I had nothing until 6.5 weeks when I had a small bleed and the nausea etc hit with a vengeance. And my wee bean is 'textbook' according to the sonographer. I totally understand it's impossible not to worry (I still worry!) but trust me, as someone who has been where you are, every pregnancy is SO different. I hope all is plain and smooth sailing for you. I've found that it does get easier to relax - I'm past the point where I started having trouble last time and although my MMC was at 11.5 weeks the baby never grew as big as this one is now, and that has been very reassuring. You'll find things like that which help you feel better.

Miami81 · 13/06/2017 09:31

@emvy
Welcome welcome. Delighted to see another grad from the ttc board here. I have had subtly different symptoms this time round and I mean super subtle. I boob grab all the time and they are never as sore as they were in previous two pregnancies that ended in mc. I have had some mild nausea, nothing unbearable. I have been a small bit tired and I have had headaches and that's it. It is making me incredibly paranoid. I think there is nothing a pregnant lady who has miscarried before wants more then a wee bit of a vomit in the mornings. Just for comfort.
I have my 12 week scan today, buddy bean last seen at 9 wks. I am trying to believe that they are still in there fighting away, but it's just so hard.
But you have to believe, I have to believe that this pregnancy has as much chance as anybody's! Each pregnancy is new, it's a new egg, it's a new lining, it's a new location, it's a new sperm. It's all different and the chances are very much in your favour. Today you are pregnant. Be strong.
