@mamabear4 that's shocking the way they spoke to you on the phone! Shock.

Did she at least suggest a solution instead of just patronising you? I can't believe it.

JCleRoux · 06/06/2017 14:11

@AnUtterIdiot wow twins! Congratulations!

JCleRoux · 06/06/2017 14:19

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow morning. Been trying hard to be brave and not let the nerves get to me but earlier I just lost it all and had a small meltdown. Sad

Couldn't even sleep properly last night and kept dreaming about the scan.

Doesn't help that DH is away for work this week so I'm going to the scan by myself. We decided not to say anything to anyone - after five previous losses we decided to wait as long as possible before telling anyone.

This is the furthest I've gone since my DS so holding on to the fact that that's a good sign.

Looking for some hand hold.

mammabear4 · 06/06/2017 14:19

@AnUtterIdiot wooooop welcome to the twins club! Grin congrats!!

@LisaSimpsonsbff @JCleRoux I know I really can't get over how short she was. Knowing my history of MC too just think she was so insensitive. She suggested going private if I was "desperate for a reassurance scan" I think we will consider it if the bleeding continues. Otherwise my 12 week scan is 3 weeks tomorrow so maybe can just hold off til then.

@NoParticularPattern those numbers sound so positive I'm glad you've had some reassurance!

@Miami81 I am getting AF type symptoms too, really trying to brush it off as just uterus stretching out etc - which I'm sure that's all it is. 1 week!!! Not too long! 💜

mammabear4 · 06/06/2017 14:21

@JCleRoux a hand hold from over here Flowers really not long now, you just need to get through tonight. Is this your first scan? Can anybody go with you or would you rather go alone?

@AnUtterIdiot I've definitely read that cramps and spotting are more common in twin pregnancies too as the uterus is doubly stretching! So that gives me hope that both beans are fine and just growing well.

Have you any sign of a bump yet? I'm 9+4 today and none of my trousers fit me. Have started wearing my maternity trousers which are far too big - there's no in between and I refuse to just buy larger jeans when I'll be out of them in no time! Definitely didn't get this fat this early on with my DD!

Also not sure who mentioned it earlier in the thread but if you haven't already tamba is a great website for twin info and you can become a member and get loads of discount on baby stuff. Also twinstuff.com I've found really informative.
Are your twins DCDA?
Sorry for the Spanish Inquisition I'm just excited someone else in the thread is in the same boat! And we're not too far apart dates wise!

peachgreen · 06/06/2017 14:51

@mamma I can't believe how rude she was, that's just awful. You're not randomly asking for a scan with no reason, you're bleeding!

@Pattern Great news about your HCG, I'm delighted for you!

@Miami Argh that is going to feel like a long week. But you can do it! Sounds like uterus stretching / round ligament etc to me but I know how scary any kind of cramping is.

@Utter Oh my goodness, what an exciting surprise! Congratulations! So pleased that the scan went well and the bleeding was nothing to worry about.

@JCleRoux We can hand-hold for each other about our scans tomorrow. It's amazing that you've got this far and I'll be hoping everything goes well tomorrow.

I've been sick twice today which is new and exciting (although also utterly unpleasant as I've literally felt sick ALL DAY, argh) and I think my boobs are a bit sore again? Trying not to poke or prod as the real test will be when I take my bra off tonight! Also no more bleeding (so far) so I'm feeling a bit more positive.

conkerchops · 06/06/2017 15:23

Wow twins @utter - what a lovely surprise and so pleased they are doing well!

@mama how v v v rude of her - they tell us bleeding in pregnancy should always be checked out and then make you feel like that! Can you ring PALS or something and complain?!!! Sending you a hug

@pattern well done on those hcg figures - they are rising v nicely!
Good luck to everyone with scans this week!
We have our appt with the midwife to book in on thurs when will be 5+2 - am dreading seeing her after the debacle after the miscarriage with her tuning me and not reading my notes to see we'd miscarried! But is just a Vix to tick I suppose - I am going to be firm and say we do not want a scan till 8 weeks minimum! Unless bleeding or anything like that - even thinking about a scan brings me out in a cold sweat!
With my daughter we didn't find out we were pregnant till 8 weeks in and it made these dreaded 3 months whizz by only have to do 4 weeks of them! Hey ho!

Scan went very well 😍 I've been moved forward to 12+6. Little monkey was upside down, wiggling hips seemed to shift in to the right position until it kicked it's legs off the side and flipped back over 😂 very entertaining all the same!!

Wow utter twins!! How exciting!

Good luck with your scans tomorrow JCleRoux and peach!!

@TootsyBella84 lovely picture there! Congratulations!

Miami81 · 06/06/2017 17:30

Great news utter and tootsy.
Best of luck tomorrow those with scans. Bleeding/ spotting that has been ongoing all week seems to have let up today, taking that as a good sign despite the AF pains!!

conkerchops · 06/06/2017 18:08

Fab pic @tootsybella - congratulations!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 06/06/2017 18:12

Lovely pic Tootsy! Always good to be put forward a few days and tick some of that anxious time off.

I hope anyone else having scans/tests today gets good news.

I had my scan and consultant appointment and all went fine. They reckon baby is weighing 1lb 9oz already! Seems like loads so hope he's not too massive! DD was only 6lbs 14oz Blush

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/06/2017 10:46

Just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you, peach

NoParticularPattern · 07/06/2017 11:12

Good luck to ladies with scans today! Massive positive vibes!

I've just booked my booking appointment and managed not to vomit on the receptionist. I feel absolutely bloody awful today so taking that as a good sign! Genuinely thought I was going to vomit either in the surgery or in Lidl!! Hen do this weekend will be fun!!

peachgreen · 07/06/2017 12:25

@LisaSimpsonsbff Thank you so much, and thanks to everyone else who sent hand-holds and well-wishes.

The scan was perfect! Measuring 6+5 (am 6+4 by dates) and the heartbeat was clear as a bell, strong and fast. The midwife described it as "textbook". Smile She said the bleeding is probably from my cervix and nothing to worry about. I'm so relieved! It was the same midwife who did the scans when I had my MMC, and she was training the staff nurse who looked after me during me ERPC - they both remembered us and were as nervous as we were I think! So it was a very happy room all round when we saw the heartbeat. We all cried!

The best part was that because she was training the staff nurse, we got to look at our little bean for twice as long, with its heart beating away. It was the best feeling ever.

Thanks so much ladies. And best of luck to everyone else with a scan coming up, will be thinking of you.

yellowfrontdoor · 07/06/2017 12:26

Peach I'm so so pleased for you, how amazing! Flowers

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/06/2017 12:46

Oh peach, what fantastic news! So glad to hear this.

JCleRoux · 07/06/2017 12:50

@peachgreen that's fantastic news! Very happy for you.

I've also had my scan this morning and everything is looking good. I was so relieved I cried too! Then rushed to the toilet because I arrived with a full bladder and after all the poking and prodding I needed to go asap Grin

She said my EDD is still the same but the baby is measuring at 13w instead of 12w+3. I was a little Confused but too elated to ask any questions.

Thank you all the hand holds. Smile

@NoParticularPattern so sorry you've been feeling so awful. Flowers.

peachgreen · 07/06/2017 12:52

@JCleRoux Oh wonderful news! I'm so pleased for you! Good news all round so far today. Smile

NoParticularPattern · 07/06/2017 13:21

Oh yay for wonderful scans peach and JC!! That's wonderful news!!

In other news I'm about to paint the bathroom. I know how to live don't I?!
