I think we are goin to have to re-house them Loulee.

I'm waiting for my aunt to come back from holiday to see if she will take them as she has had cats before.

But if not then that would be great thanks Loulee.

There are two of them, both female and I wouldn't want to split them up.

geordiemacminx · 25/09/2007 09:46

Hey ladies.... ok I know I will probably get battered for this but its getting close to that time of year AGAIN...yep CHRISTMAS!!!!!

There is a meet-up being planned on 15th December over in Edinburgh, here is th link

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1368/393931

Anyone fancy it?

midnightexpress · 25/09/2007 09:58

I'd love to, but still having sleep problems with ds2 so unless we can cure those in time I think I'll be housebound . Trixy - how is ds's sleep these days? I'm getting really fed up of the all-night feeding - time for a crackdown soon I think (eek).

Tallulah - still OK for tomorrow?

What a lovely day!

trixymalixy · 25/09/2007 10:48

I might be up for that night out GMM.

Midnight, DS is still an absolute nightmare as well.

Now the daytime naps have totally gone to pot as well though. I had never fed him to sleep for daytime naps and had got him to the stage where I could just put him down and he would drop off.

I made the mistake of feeding him to sleep on holiday as he was ill and teething and now I have wrecked all my hard work.

midnightexpress · 25/09/2007 11:25

It's grim isn't it? Our daytime naps sound v similar (and also happened when I caved in while ds2 was poorly a couple of months ago). It's lucky he's so cute the rest of the time...

weeonion · 25/09/2007 15:46

hi folks!!!!
it seems like an age since i poted on here! hope you are all well - looks like autumn is on its way!!!

trixy - i am joining the buggyjogging class on a wednesday morn at kelvingrove - do you fancy it??? what slimming class are you gonna go to?? i am thinking of going back to weight watchers. i done it years ago and lost 10 stone but post baby - i cannot shift this weight on my own! i know that some hospitals do postnatal exercise classes but i dont think PRm do them??
Midnight - sorry to hear that sleep / naps are an issue. it aint easy gtting by on little sleep - especially for you with another wee one. C is still up once a night for a feed - twice when shes in poor form. i still never know if i should be resisting feeding her but dont know how to tell if she isnt hungry...
gmm - i am up for an edinburgh night out on the 15th - but it will depend on dp's shifts. will speak to him about it.
mammyr - dont worry about yr bump. mine really started to show about 18 weeks and then just grew and grew and grew!!
tallu - when you off to Oz??
loulee - great to hear from you! glad you had a nice holiday - where is ireland were you? looking forward to seeing yr wee man!

when is our next meet up gonna be? where shall we have this one?? if it is glasgow - what about the greenhouse place on glasgow green ( the name has gone completely out of my mind!!!!!) if edinburgh - where d you ladies recommend?
also - we had talked about a night out pre xmas. lets get it sorted - i could do with an excuse to get dolled up! i am more than happy to help arrange it but need some pointers!

trixymalixy · 25/09/2007 17:48

Wo - did you really mean to post that you had lost 10 stone!?!?!? If so then wow that is impressive!!

I go to Rosemary Conley classes in Burnside.

I might be up for the kelvingrove exercise class thing, but it depends on what time it's on.

Loulee · 25/09/2007 18:04

wow! 10 stone. baby weight is going to be a doddle for you! Wo we were in Mayo on the coast near belmullet. You know it? It's where the Rossport 5 / Shell oil saga is going on.

Is a buggy/jogging class literally jogging round the park with your buggy a-la central park/sex and the city?

Trixy keep[ us posted about the cats. We have 2 as well - so sorry you have to pass them on.

don't think I'd make an edin meet-up gmm, but could manage a glasgow one..

must dash, kidsgalore and screaming!!

weeonion · 25/09/2007 18:05

hi trix and yep - i did lose 10 stone. i done it in 18mths with WW but sadly - have put some of it back on the baby exercise in the park starts at 10.30. email me if you want more info???

hows it going with feeding to sleep? i read some really nice stuff in the sears sleep book that was reassuring about it but i know it must be hard if it is a recent thing. r u going back to work soon?

TALLULAHBELLE · 25/09/2007 21:01

See you tomorrow Midnight

TALLULAHBELLE · 25/09/2007 21:35

Have planned to go to the buggyfit for the last 6 weeks - never made it yet. 10:30 am -too early for us lazy lumps. I heard that the class timetable is changing tho for autumn so check first.

Off to Oz on 22 Oct. Good to see you folks before heading off. Glasgow Green place is called Winter Gardens.

OK so back to watching Bringing Up Baby - good god can't believe this awful wifie just told new dad he is NOT ALLOWED to kiss his newborn daughter.

weeonion · 25/09/2007 23:07

ok folks - i know this may not sound the most exciting thing to come out of late but--- a new feeding strategy is coming out for consultation on monday. it'll be on the health board site and some HV/ vol sector orgs will be running focus groups. it will decide how money is gonna be spent (or not spent!) in the next few years. it could mean a drastic change to services - for good or bad. i think our opinions and ideas are really important for this.
i was wondering if any of you fancied meeting up to talk over its ideas and do a response??

bookthief · 25/09/2007 23:08

I've would be very, very up for this. Would love to contribute - as you know, I have very strong feelings on this topic

weeonion · 25/09/2007 23:11

ah - BT - i somehow knew you would be up for it!! i was talking to linda at QM today and she is keen to hear as many views as possible. i know you have some firm ideas so it will be interesting to see what they are presenting!

bookthief · 25/09/2007 23:12

Great, let me know.

liath · 26/09/2007 08:03

Count me in WO! I'd be very interested.

midnightexpress · 26/09/2007 08:59

me too WO!

See you in a bit Tallulah

TALLULAHBELLE · 26/09/2007 09:24

Yep - would like to air my views too! Count me in.

bumble75 · 26/09/2007 16:21

10 stone - wow! I am thinking of going back to weight watchers as well, lost two stone a few years back and now need to lose the same two [hmmm]

WO - I'd be interested in seeing/commenting on the feeding strategy as well.

I'm happy to meet up in Glasgow, L sleeps in the car so it's nice to just listen to the radio while I'm driving. Also, I am rubbish and can't think of anywhere good to go in Edinburgh with a big group - I am better at Edinburgh drinking establishments! Unfortunately can't make the 15th of Dec as I'll be in Aus - hopefully out on the lash in Sydney while Grandma gets her fix of babysitting!

bumble75 · 26/09/2007 16:23

I always put too many mmm's on my 's

bumble75 · 26/09/2007 22:29

Ooooh, knew I forgot something earlier - Loulee I haven't tried touche eclat, but I swear by Bobbi Brown concealer and for super bad days they also have a 'correcter' to go under the concealer. I used to change concealer all the time but this one is really lovely (and I should get commission for the all the people I've converted to using it!) and it's the only one I've repeat purchased. They will try and sell you an eye cream with it (which is lovely but expensive) but it goes on just as well over any moisturiser.

Sales pitch over!

TALLULAHBELLE · 26/09/2007 22:34

Midnight - am loving the nappies already. And they are soooo cute. Not brave enough to try at night though so she is sleeping in disp. Not had pooey one yet either but so far so good. Thank you so much.

Enjoyed my cuppa & chat with you today. Hope you get better sleep tonight.

liath · 27/09/2007 07:16

Tallulah - I've never got out of the habit of having dd in a dispie overnight but have braved it with ds & use a bamboo nappy which is really absorbant and goes 12 hours fine.

Sleep a wee bit better here - ds going down at a reasonable hour at last and only up to feed twice most nights. He's often up & awake between 5am and 6am but if I take him into bed and feed him I can usually get him back over until dd wakes up. Didn't work this morning unfortunately.......How are the rest of the insomniac babies doing?

midnightexpress · 27/09/2007 08:59

My pleasure Tallulah - just glad that someone's going to get some use out of them! It was good to see you and thanks v much for the CD - DS1 and I had a great a-wimaway a-wimaway round the sitting room and ds2 clapped along (sooooooo cute). Sleep a wee bit better too - I cracked down and kept him in his cot all night and he woke 4 times - loooong feed at 5am, but went back to sleep afterwards instead of his usual snack-bar approach to early morning. Progress of a kind.

Grassroots sell environmentally friendly disposables, btw, although they're twice the price of normal disps . Also, if you have any probs with nappy rash, I can really recommend Weleda's Calendula nappy cream - we use it religiously with our 2 and have only ever had problems when we've run out and used something else. The only place I know in Glasgow that sells it is Woodland Herbs on Woodlands Road.

trixymalixy · 27/09/2007 12:00

I'm not brave enough to try cloth nappies at night either!

Ds's sleep varies so much, he was terrible last night, but pretty good the night before.

I'm trying to put him back in his cot as much as possible as well midnight.

Fingers crossed, touch wood am probably totally jinxing myself, but I think Ds has just gone off to sleep by himself!! he did yesterday morning as well so I'm praying this will continue!!
