So obviously am out for Xmas night - we leave for Oz on 22 Oct so cd do Oct night out before then. DH gets here 11 Oct - not sure if that means should request date before that so can spend all my time with him, or after it so he can mind DD

Welcome to mummyrazzle. Not sure about sore nips/boobs in pg - titty fairy lost my address - but did use the cabbage leaves in early days of bf. Maybe try the ante-natal thread for due in Feb -bound to find someone having same experience.

TALLULAHBELLE · 09/09/2007 22:04

Hey WO - yep was going to e mail bout the nappies. Am really liking them, got some fleece liners off e bay & been experimenting with boosters, muslins, microfibre cloths etc. Is great fun!!!Had bit of poo disaster but have been having those with disposables too. Can you remember where you got those wraps & what they are called? I want to get some bigger ones but am confused by the array on e bay.

BTW put pics of E modelling said nappies on FB.

weeonion · 09/09/2007 22:09

tulla - glad they are workign out ok. i do indeed love my cloth nappies! i have been trying out loads of different kinds and i am coming back to the simple prefolds and wraps. so much easier to get dried!

WO and tallulah - if either of you are interested, I have a whole stack of bambino mio wraps (first size, I think) and nappy liners (by which I mean the things that look like dusters rather than the papery stuff to go on top of that). We tried them out with ds1 but am ashamed to say that we gave up and have been using disposables ever since for both boys. The stuff is practically unused, though in a nesting frenzy I laundered them all to get them ready. Anyhoo, if either of you (or anyone else) wants them, you are more than welcome to have them the next time I see you. We didn't pay for them, so free to a good home.

Re Xmas - I'm definitely up for a daytime do but not sure about evenings - we're still having big probs with ds2's sleep - he won't take a bottle and refuses to sleep for longer than 2 hours at a stretch. Sooooo not sure I can manage to desert him for as long as it'll take to get there befoer I have to come back.

thelady · 10/09/2007 15:54

Aha: cloth nappies.

We're planning to use them with the sproglet (due Dec) so I'm up for any/all advice and suggestions.

Ta much!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/09/2007 18:53

Midnight - I would love the wraps & liners.

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/09/2007 18:54

Just thinking, can't remember where you are but maybe I cd collect or meet up somewhere convenient???

weeonion · 10/09/2007 19:49

midnight - thanks for the offer but c is beyond 1st size now. i know tallu is getting well into her nappies so delighted that she can have them!

I'm on the Southside tallulah, but have a car so happy to meet up somewhere else if that's easier for you? Mornings marginally easier as ds1 is in nursery, so maybe we could get a coffee somewhere and I'll dig out all the nappies.

thelady - I'll leave the advice to the others as we failed miserably in our attempt to be responsible

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/09/2007 13:25

Brilliant Midnight. Am happy to hop on train to SS but be lovely to meet up for coffee one morning too. As long as it suits you. Just let me know what works for you.

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/09/2007 13:29

Thelady - My DD is 12 weeks & I'm just starting on the cloth nappies. TBH when you get home at first with a newborn there's enough to cope with IMHO. Plus newborn doing many poos a day, which tends to settle down a bit after couple of months making the washing a bit easier.

geordiemacminx · 11/09/2007 14:27

I'm absolutely gutted to have to tell you all the Vio's son James passed away this morning at 9.10.

weeonion · 11/09/2007 15:05

lazyemma · 12/09/2007 08:30

Vio - I am so sorry to hear about baby James, thinking of you and your family.
xx

liath · 12/09/2007 10:57

Adding my thoughts and deepest sympathies to you, Vio and your DH. Your posts were so moving and it was obvious what a lovely wee baby James was and how much you adored him. He was so lucky to have you as his mummy even if it was such a cruelly short time.

Liath x

TALLULAHBELLE · 12/09/2007 11:35

Vio - so so sorry to hear the sad news. Can't really offer any words of comfort but you & your family are in my thoughts.

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/09/2007 19:26

Hi WO & GMM. How did things go today? How is Vio holding up? Been thinking of her all day. Is there anything we can do to help her through?

weeonion · 14/09/2007 20:39

hi tallua. it all went off as well as such a sad day can. it was a really moving service - so dignified. vio has been incredibly strong - she feels she has to be for jimjim. i dont know how she has done it but i reckon he would be proud of her. she spoke so lovingly and movingly to say goodbye. she has her family with her until sunday and then her and dp may head away for a few days.

as for support for her - i think it will be over the next while that she will need us more. it would be good to get her out and about.

hope you are all well.
