you may not be spared of the glitter - boys just as excited by it as girls!

midnightexpress · 31/08/2007 10:34

Oh well

Anjo1 · 31/08/2007 20:57

hey everyone-lovely to see all who made it on Wednesday , and hopefully see the ones who could'nt next time
WO - meant to say ,thanks for meeting us at the station , made life easier x
piccies are great ,although my Curious George(!!) is , as ever, far more interested in something off camera.
I'll fexible with meet up days ,would be good to have a set day of the month.
xx

midnightexpress · 04/09/2007 20:56

Uncharacteristically quiet on here at the moment ladies! Hope everyone's OK?

this thread is someone looking for advice on the PRH - I don't have any, but I think some of you (WO? GMM? Trixy?) all had yours there didn't you?

Absolutely nothing exciting to report...

bumble75 · 05/09/2007 21:14

Midnight - i know what you mean about the ageing - was playing 'look at the baby in the mirror' with dd and was horrified at my newly acquired wrinkles! I wear sunglasses as often as possible and preferably always when a camera is around!

I unfortunately can't report back on our first water babies class as it was postponed because work is still being done on the pool so we now start next week - I was so disappointed!

Am attempting to go to the gym this weekend to go to a body pump class, I think I am a bit mad but worth a shot!

Would be up to have a regular meet-up, most of the things we going to are on in the morning so could pretty much make any afternoon.

Hope everyone is well
x

bumble75 · 05/09/2007 21:20

'Would be up to have a regular meet-up' was a combination of:

'I'd be up for a regular meet-up' and 'Would be great to have a regular meet-up', my brain not in sync with my typing!

weeonion · 06/09/2007 18:02

hey hey folks!!! how are you all? we are doign ok here - lots of good stuff goingon .

gmm and i went to waterbabies yesterday - i loved it as did c. i had been told that the bubbas are meant to be starving and tired after it but not this madam! she has decided that naps are no longer in fashion so it is a bit of a battle to get her to close her eyes through the day!

if any of you are interested - baby sensory are doign a taster session in linlithgow on teh 24th sept in the a.m. i have booked a place to see what it is all about - if any of you fancy going to it?

we are doing minimusic makers through the city chambers - a really nioce quiet relaxed group - c however did talk / yell /holler the whole way throught it!

we ar also going to baby signing on mondays - another nice group and its amazing to watch the older babies signing away!

so - as you can see - we are out and about a fair bit! more o tkeep me out of the flat and from goign mad with cabin fever!!

also - i was talking to the bf co-ordinator today. the infant feeding strategy for scotland is out for consultation 2morro. it woudl be really good if folks could take the time to have a read of it and feedback your ideas. i have a notion to get some of us togther to do a response - anyone interested??

Hi there WO - sooooo busy gal, it's a wonder you have any time to MN!

While I would love to have been tootling around a swimming pool with ds2 today, I spent the whole bl**dy day trying to get our car stereo fixed after A Certain Small Boy Who Shall Remain Nameless stuck a penny in the cd player when we were on holiday (and then spent the entire 5 hour journey back to Glasgow saying 'IwantsongsIwantsongsIwantsongsIwantsongs'). We bought a new one, but each time we tried to get it sorted there was yet another bit of flippin wire we needed which could only be found in the depths of East Kilbride. Anyway, after several hours, one vomiting episode, an inordinate number of roundabouts and rather a lot of whinging we are now almost fully functional again.

So yes, I'd be very happy to discuss the feeding whatnot - is our next meetup the best place? or sooner?

Minimusic makers is fun though isn't it? I did it with S when he was little (at the Tramway, actually) but haven't managed to go back yet.

hey tulla - ta for the message. i sent you a couple of nappy wraps and a liner in the post yesterday - should be with you soon..

Midnight - have to say - how cool are you doign a mercy mission to the airport. what a star!!

i was thinking before our next meet up to discuss the strategy - i'll try and find out more about it 2morro and post on here??

ok - another idea - i know there is going to be a big MN meet up in london. how about we aim to have a scottish xmas meeting? maybe a saturday? maybe hire / bok somewhere - have stuff on for older LO? a bit of nosh for mums ( & dp/ dh??)
what do you reckon??

OP posts:
midnightexpress · 07/09/2007 08:47

Happy birthday WO - didn't know. Hope you have(had?) a belter.

Yeay - Xmas party sounds like a good idea to me! Any excuse...will put my brains to good use to try and think of somewhere we could do it. have you got any thoughts on that wo? Perhaps we should start a new thread for it (in chat maybe?) to lure some folk in who might not know about this thread? Happy to help organise.

As for the airport mercy dash - it sounds a lot more impressive than it was - it's not exactly like saying 'oh I'll just go to Heathrow and find your bag for you'. The whole thing took about 2 minutes and then ds2 and me had tea and a bun and came home again.

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/09/2007 10:46

Got the wraps this morning WO. Many thanks. Will start experimenting today.

Hope you have a lovely birthday.

Xmas idea is a good one. We will be in Oz right up tho so will miss it.

geordiemacminx · 07/09/2007 12:09

happy birthday WO

Xmas meet-up a great idea although maybe, after all we have been through this year it should be without little ones/dp/dh's? A nice meal out, a few drinks etc? I think we all deserve a night off!!!!

weeonion · 07/09/2007 12:20

ok - going all out for the social aspect - how about a night out for mums and then at xmas - a scottish mn party???

OP posts:
bumble75 · 09/09/2007 10:05

Hope you had a lovely birthday WO!

Loving the idea of nights out and Christmas parties! I will be in Aus for all of December though... but count me in for anything before 1st December.

mummyrazzle · 09/09/2007 16:50

Hi there.

Am only 16 weeks PG with 1st baby - need advice on everything - from a husband who thinks I am only moody because the books tell me I should be to my nipples becoming the sorest thing I have ever come across

Having my baby in Wishaw in February - seems like a lifetime away

Any advice will be treasured

Thanks x x x

midnightexpress · 09/09/2007 17:20

HI there mummyrazzle! There's quite a South Lanarkshire gang on here now - GMM had her bub at Wishaw recently, and I'm sure she'll be along soon to tell you all about it! As for the rest of it, ask away, and come along to the next meetup or the Xmas do(s) if you can.

thelady · 09/09/2007 17:27

mummyrazzle; I'm 11 weeks ahead of you with my first (due early Dec). No idea if what I'm going through is typical, but feel free to ask away either here or email me at:

ljnoble @ gmail . com

I'm a hotelier, so it may take a while for me to get back to you - I will though!

weeonion · 09/09/2007 17:58

hey mummyrazle =- congrats to you and hope you are well, mood swings and sore nurps aside! please feel free to ask away!

mummyrazzle · 09/09/2007 18:08

Thanks for the support - you lot will probably be sick of me by the time February comes
just off to sit with a cold lettuce leaf on my sore bits - or is it cabbage ? Who knows - probably one of my well meaning family members taking the mick again

x x

weeonion · 09/09/2007 18:15

MR - you will probably be sick of us asking how you are getting on and cooing over a newborn! cabbage leaves do indeed ease sore boobs - but that tends to be more for engorgement with milk!

OP posts:
weeonion · 09/09/2007 18:20

ok - i am meant obe here doing funding applications for work! quite how i got roped into doign them on my maternity leave i do not know but doing my best to avoid it with MN

thining of meetups.

1/ scottish evenign out
when woudl suit people best? would the middle / end october do ok - allow plenty of time to arrange babysitters, express milk, crash diet to fit into prepg clothes!!! wher shodl we have it - we are from far flung places so where would suit bathgaters, edinburgers, weggies, fifers, tayside, ayrshire folks???? would a weekend night be best - to allow for family / dp/ dh to look after bubbas??

2/ xmas do(s)
ok - whilst it might make us shriek to thik ahed to the festive season - if we want a scottish meet up - we need to get cracking. i put someideas in an earlier posting but - what would you all like / want from a meet up?? when woudl suit and yet again - where!!

ok - back to budgets - arghhhhhh

Hey Bumble - guess you'll be in Sydney, I will be in Adelaide most of Dec otherwise we could've had our own MN party Down Under.

weeonion · 09/09/2007 21:50
