Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, this is a first (and delightfully unexpected due to long-term infertility) pregnancy. So far no unusual problems, it seems, and I'm hoping I can carry on working to the end.

I used to live in Glasgow - Strathbungo then Shawlands - and would move back tomorrow if I had the choice.

Hi everyone,
Congratulations Loulee!
I am hopeless at keeping up with this thread, hope everyone is OK. THinking of Vio a lot.
Welcome Thelady! My folks live in the Borders (Berwickshire) so I'm up & down there a lot. How has the pregnancy been so far?
Ds is getting HUGE and he feeds all the blooming time - I feel like a dairy cow, might change my posting name to Ermintrude at this rate!

Not bad, really, Liath. 16 weeks of feeling like I'd tried to eat 2 Xmas dinners one after the other (blech) and totally knackered. Now fine except for struggling to reach things above my head and getting v. sore feet.

Can't really complain .

Loulee · 28/07/2007 15:14

Hi everybody!
As Tallulah said we now have a BOY in our family! Lewis was born on Monday weighing 8lb 14oz (my biggest so far!) we're all delighted - took me and dp a while to get over the shock that he was a boy (and another 2 days to think up a name!)- think we just assumed another girl was on the way. DD's are happy and excited - though dd2 little one a bit out of sorts at no longer being the baby. I'm fine, but tired and a bit achey, trying to get used to the lack of sleep (do you ever??) - very glad to be home.
Having a wee rest while the girls are out at the park.

Glad everyone is doing well, sorry to hear about milk allergies trixy - what a pain (my dd1 has a wheat allergy and it was really difficult to start, but when you get into the swing of it, it gets easier)
vio - how are you? thinking of you.
-and hi theLady

  • and tallulah, lovely to see you and Eilidh out and about and looking so well - and thanks for not mentioning the size of the bags under my eyes

Hi all, good to hear everyone's news. Just back from the beach. Bought ds1 his first bucket & spade, which he carried v proudly all the way down to the beach and then completely lost interest in. Much more interested in the water bottle. .

Good to hear your news Loulee - I'm sure I'd be as bemused if I had a girl now (NOT that we're planning to ).

Vio · 29/07/2007 00:04

hi loulee, congrads...am happy for you! a wee boy, well done!

Sorry for not posting here for a while, i know i shouldnt be having this thought..somehow i feel a bit out of place, i thought this thread is filled with happy news so i really dont want to post sad message...well...i know i am silly to think like that as i am sure you all wouldnt mind and probably would want to know how james is doing..

He is stable, 13 weeks exactly today..sometimes i am amazed myself...this little boy is so brave..considering how many drugs hes on everyday and how many open wounds hes got...hes still going..hes a special boy...very special indeed..

I dont know how i learned to cope..i think..i try not to think too far ahead but its hard not to think about it...when i do think about it..i get upset and i cry... when i think about the way he changed in these 3 months..hes been growing and i think to myself...i dont know if i will have more children in the future but i realise that james is james...hes my first child and hes very special...no two ppl is the same and certainly my future child can never replace him...he will live in my heart forever and he will always be loved by me in a very very special way.

Hope everyone is doing well.

suedonim · 29/07/2007 01:31

Hi, Vio, I do hope I'm not intruding. I've been following your baby's progress after I clicked on the thread because of the Scottish connection (I've lived in Scotland for a number of years). I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you and little James. I had no idea EB was such a terrible, terrible condition, you are so courageous in dealing with it. I've sent a wee contribution to DEBRA in the hopes that a prevention/cure for EB can be found asap. Thinking of you all. XXX

Vio · 29/07/2007 03:25

thanks suedonim.

liath · 29/07/2007 08:35

Midnightexpress - bless at the bucket & spade !

Vio, please keep posting - we're all thinking of you, you're part of this thread. I'm glad James is stable, he's a lucky wee boy to have you to love him so much.

Ds fed 6 times last night, this is getting ridiculous!! Have been searching the archives though & it seems quite common at this age.

TALLULAHBELLE · 29/07/2007 11:44

Vio - so good to read your post. You are so full of strength and love. Please keep in touch with us, we are all thinking of you and anxious to know how you & James are doing.

fairybit · 29/07/2007 15:00

Vio - good to hear your news and to know that J has stabilised. And do please keep in touch here - this thread wouldn't be the same without you.

liath - you have no idea how hard it is to find a bucket & spade these days. Even Woolies let me down, and giant Tesco had everything that opens and shuts (inflatable limbo set, anyone?) but no b&s. Ended up in a tiny post office at the seaside in Ayrshire where dp bought a spade that is almost as big as ds1 and matching bucket. He'll grow into it, I guess.

geordiemacminx · 30/07/2007 17:20

Hey ladies - just popping in as I am at my mums in the north east for a few days.

Everyone welcome- the more the merrier!!! If you wouldnt mind adding your stats to this thread so I can see who we have and where you are which will make the followg task easier...

While I remember I am thinking of organisng one big meet up - a chance to catch up, meet new mums, new babies and new bumps!! Obviously Edinburgh or Glasgow would probably be more convenient - will try and make it easier for the majority and also those who dont drive - probably the end of August ish - once the schools have gonce back - what does everyone think?
