midnightexpress · 07/03/2007 08:47

hi there! Thanks WO for getting it started - like the title. May/June sounds good to me. Can't wait to see all the new babes in person.

Vio · 07/03/2007 08:53

found it finally!! well done WO!

Vio · 07/03/2007 08:54

Yes, i reckon thats a good idea WO- your little girl will be a very popular one as everyone seems to be having boys!

Loulee · 07/03/2007 14:23

Sounds good. I'll be on the home strait by then too. - and my girls will be delighted to see so many babies

LieselVentouse · 07/03/2007 15:28

Sounds good

sweetkitty · 07/03/2007 15:38

hiya been trying to keep up with all you ladies and your bumps but you are so chatty!

If you remember me I'm in Motherwell with DD1 (2.7yo) and DD2 (13mo) I'm trying to drum up support for a Scottish Mile for Maude too and thought it would be a good excuse for a meet up as well. Although all these newborns might make me broody for number 3.

liath · 07/03/2007 15:41

Good idea, Sweetkitty. I'd be on for that. What date was it again - May sometime?

Loulee · 07/03/2007 15:41

Depending on dates/location I'd be up for a mile for maude. how far organised are you sweetkitty?

trixymalixy · 07/03/2007 16:16

Dependant on time/location I'd be up for a mile for maude too.

trixymalixy · 07/03/2007 16:18

WO, it was worth all the stitches, bleeding, baby blues etc etc etc!!!

Vio · 08/03/2007 14:01

hi, hows everyone, i am getting really bored...6 weeks to go......!!!!!!!!!!!!

trixymalixy · 08/03/2007 17:56

Fine thanks Vio, got loads of sleep last night.

DH was working last night so my parents came round to look after DS so I could go for a bit of a sleep. So I went to bed at 8.30 and woke up at 11, just as my parents had finished giving him a bottle of EBM. So we went back to bed and he didn't wake up again until 4.30!! then he went back down until 7.30. Was the longest sleep I've had in ages.

Are you on mat leave yet Vio? Can't believe it's nearly April, doesn't seem that long since this thread (well the previous thread) started and you were all just a few weeks pregnant!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/03/2007 20:10

meet up sounds good to me. Not sure will be able to manage a mile in June - due on 8th!See how fit I feel.

sweetkitty · 08/03/2007 20:42

I believe it's Saturday May 12th

theres some interest in a Glasgow one and an Edinburgh one, I said I could go to either. I don't know either very well so would be looking for a few locals to help organise things.

Vio · 09/03/2007 12:51

wow....trixy..cannot believe you went to bed at 8:30 and didnt get up till 11... then went back to bed again!! is it really hard work looking after a baby?

My mum will be here in 3 wks and will stay till June but then after that,...i will be on my own!!..think i can cope but i am not sure..

Well, not working at the moment..( though i actually wanted to )...came bere in May then fell pregnant in July and then fell really sick for nearly 2 months so thought there isnt much point lookiing for a job..... since i am not working. ...everyday seems ages to me...!!!

trixymalixy · 09/03/2007 13:16

Hi Vio, I meant 8.30pm till 11pm, (not 11am!!) and then 11.30pm to 4.30 am then till 7.30am.

It is really tiring tho.

He was up every hour and a half last night, and has just been wanting to feed constantly today, so think this must be the 6 week growth spurt. I hope it doesn't last too long!!

I wondered how I'd cope when DH went back to work, but you just get on with it.One of my friends came round to help the first couple of days, but tbh it was actually easier on my own.

Loulee · 09/03/2007 15:50

Trixy, - the best thing i learnt in the early weeks was to learn to bf lying down - means you can both drift off to sleep waking every hour sounds crap - doesn't last forever tho...

trixymalixy · 09/03/2007 16:43

Have tried bfing lying down Loulee. I can't seem to get the hang of it. I can't get him to latch on properly, and when I do he seems to lose the latch quite quickly and just suck on my nipples so I end up with sore nipples.

Any advice on how to do it would be gratefully received!!

Loulee · 09/03/2007 19:29

gosh, it's hard 2 remember how i started. think with a sort of "in-between" with us both lying on the bed but me propped up on one elbow so she could learn - then once got the hang after a few times i lay down too. also usually had pillows at my back to stop me from rolling away.
i remember it taking a while and having to persevere.....good luck

Loulee · 09/03/2007 19:32

oh and a rolled up blanket behind baby too to stop them rolling back.

midnightexpress · 09/03/2007 20:08

Trixy - definitely persevere with the lying down bf if you can. It makes such a difference. I never got the hang of it with DS1 (whole other story there...) but seems to be working with DS2. It is a bit tricky to check the latch is OK, but Loulee's method is what I've been doing too, and getting loads more sleep than I was in the first couple of weeks. Sometimes wake up with ds snuggled up in my oxter, but no danger of squashing him I don't think .

Vio · 13/03/2007 12:49

hello everyone, how are you all doing?

WO- havent heard from you for ages, you doing okay? i remember you telling us that your Maternity leave should start anytime now?

By the way, about Group B Strap, the more i read these pregnancy magazine, the more i worry about it. DH really wants me to take a test, just to be on the safe side so i might want to get it done privately. Any of you know where i can get it done ? any idea of how much that would cost?

Loulee · 14/03/2007 11:18

Hi all, very quiet....hope all the new babes are doing well.

Hope the sleep is getting better trixy - how you getting on?

Vio - no idea about getting tested for group b strep, but really, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm a carrier and i know for me it's not an issue this time round...but I have never worried about it.

tallulah - at last saw mw at radnor st - great! really efficient, quick and friendly - would highly recommend - esp. since no waiting around. how have you got on? see you at yoga anyway

begemoth - you still going?

midnightexpress · 14/03/2007 13:53

Hi all!
Arghhhhhh. Have two grumpy infants (one of whom, little does he know, is about to get his MMR, to add to our joy). One overtired and one with, I suspect, reflux. Have decided to put number one in bed and jiggle number two while I please myself for 5 mins so we don't have a grumpy mum as well.

Hope the feeding's going well trixy - ours must be about the same age I think?

And hope the yoga's going well too. I've bought Davina's post-natal workout now that I've had the all-clear at 6 week check. Did it religiously for three days and haven't done it since...but have been on long walk to collect ds1 from nursery every day. Except today...ah well. Best laid plans.

Loulee · 14/03/2007 13:57

Hi midnight - poor you. Mine have just left for the afternoon - dd2 just finished her mega tantrum before being collected - and was nice as pie / butter wouldn't melt as soon as she was going to be picked up - TYPICAL! Now I'm struggling to get into work mode and really just feel like skiving / browsing ebay and mn....
