Congratulations on the scan fettle and 'hey there' to minifettle. I suppose the important thing for us all on this thread is not when they are expected to arrive, but that they have actually arrived at long last . Can't wait to hear all the birth stories!!

fab news fettle!

They said I'm further on that I thought (13 weeks, rather than 12 + 3), but I'm sticking to my guns this time - as ds was supposedly 16 days late after they changed my date ... and when he was born he looked just right at term!

Also, my last scan said that mini-ejt was less than 6 weeks (I thought I was 7 + 2) - and now they're saying that it's made up about 2 weeks in less than 5!

If you're sure of your dates, then stick tp them - especially if there's a chance of you having to be induced early!

really pleased for you!

rubles · 23/03/2007 14:38

That's fantastic Fettle I thought you'd be alright. I can't believe you have overtaken me and are now a week ahead!

Glimmer · 23/03/2007 16:56

Hi Fettle and Mimifettle and Ejt and Miniejt!
Fantastic news -- am very, very happy for you
four.

Anybody else in the 1st trimester besides me?
I have been a little more relaxed, especially since pg-symptoms have started to kick in: am sick, irritable and ohh my boobs hurt and have become twice their size. My DP referred to them as monster--boobs last time (mc) and he hasn't even seen them in their current state... (hope nobody reads this thread besides you gals..).
My acupucturist (of whom I have a very high opinion) has basically told me not to come back for a while. He will only treat me at the end of each trimester. Did anybody of you have acupuncture while pregnant?

Hi to everybody else.

ejt1764 · 23/03/2007 17:44

Hi Glimmer, I'm having acupuncture twice a week - to help with sickness - but also to help with keeping this baby in the right place.

I think it's been really good for me ... mind you, my acupuncturist is a fertility / pregnancy specialist, so is used to treating pregnanct women!

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/03/2007 19:57

Brilliant news fettle, thats great! I'm due on 22nd Sept so we're only a day apart - yay! When I had my early pg scan, they dated me at 7+2 but I thought I was 8+5 but then when I had my nuchal scan, they dated me at exactly the same as my dates (one day out) so I was right after all!

Have been really sicky today and feel really fat... but managed to get some sleep last night .

As far as knicker watching goes - has anybody bought pink loo roll and then panicked the first time they have wiped? (sorry if TMI). We normally buy white loo roll so I can see exactly what is going on but they had the pink ones on offer and I bought it without even thinking - am I neurotic or what!?

MrsFish · 23/03/2007 20:18

Anyone else started having heartburn yet?

Been getting it today, been dreading the thought and was hoping I would get away with it this time. With ds it started at 5 months and i had it every day, most of the day until the day I gave birth, nothing helped barely made 3 months this time... ho hum at least I don;t have ms, I should be grateful, but it is very uncomfortable... enough moaning now

Glimmer · 23/03/2007 20:21

Purplelostprincess -- that's just how neurotic we all are. Welcome to the club!

EJT -- that's interesting. Do you live in the greater London area? If so, could you refer me to your accupuncturist?

gemmamc · 23/03/2007 20:24

well, I've got heartburn AND m/s!!

oh well, at least I can hope the m/s goes away leaving me "just" with heartburn...

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/03/2007 20:41

Me too - heartburn AND m/s! Suffered with heartburn loads with my first two and every time I've got pg since then, I've known mostly due to the heartburn but this time I'm either feeling really sick or have bad heartburn despite drinking milk... My GP used to prescribe me big bottles of gaviscon when I was having DD, do they still do that?

gemmamc · 24/03/2007 08:23

are you sure milk really helps? I am avoiding it...

I am taking some Gaviscon when I feel I can't do without, but I try not to take too much since I'm still in the first trimester. I haven't seen the GP yet to be honest...

Can I join???

I found I was pregnant today - so due 3rd Dec. Have got 2 beautiful girls and then 2 mc.

Uki · 25/03/2007 06:49

Crazzybabs- Fantastic news welcome, hope everything goes nice and smooth from now on.

Heartburn- My midwife/nurse/yoga teacher (sumkata chant) guru lady told me that you should grate apple and let it oxidize (go brown) and nibble on it throughout the day.

Firstar will swear by the chant
How are you going? started buying things yet?

I haven't had hb much this pg, did with last one though, just bad indigestion (so painful)

Fettle- wonderful news at scan, How are you feeling now? I hope a bit more relaxed.

I have my 20 week scan on wed, a bit anxious and scared. I have been feeling baby a bit more again so that's nice.

rubles · 25/03/2007 08:38

Crazzybabs - big, big congratulations to you!!! It is a very scarey time for those first 12 weeks, with lots of inspecting of toilet paper and knickers and worrying about feeling things/not feeling things. I hope we can support you here, we have all either been through it or are going through it so we understand.

Uki - ooh 20 week scan. It is kind of scarey as well as exciting isn't it.

Re: heartburn - I have noticed the beginnings which is overlapping with the tail end of sickness. nice. I thought I might be imagining it as it seems so early, but the fact that you all get it makes me think it is the real thing. Last time I glugged on lots of milk which worked better than gaviscon, but I am going to try not to do that as I put on a lot of extra weight - or at least I'll try to keep it in moderation.

Hi all,
I have had a busy weekend, and am now exhausted, so will be going to bed soon!

Purple - pink loo roll is the ultimate enemy of the persistent knicker checker!

Glimmer - sorry, I'm not in London, but I'll ask my acupuncturist if there's anybody she knows in your area that she can recommend (fertility issues-wise). It has been an absolute godsend for me. The hyperemesis has been kept under control by the acupuncture: I think I would have spent a lot of time in hospital if if hadn't been for my twice-weekly sessions (wonderful woman refused to charge me full-price too - I've been paying £20 per week ...)
She has spent an awful lot of time 'nourishing' me too ... I'm the world's biggest sceptic, but I have to admit that I'm completely sold on acupuncture - it cured my horrendous migraine, and now it's been really helpful!

Gemma, MrsFish, Purple - in fact anybody suffering from heartburn - thankfully I haven't got that too ... I sympathise!

cazzybabs - congratulations on your bfp &welcome to the only thread on MN where knicker-checking is de rigeur! I really hope that this pg is boring and uneventful for you!

That's me done ... going to bed now - it's strange how much I've slept since Thursday!

take care all!

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 25/03/2007 21:55

Hi, Can I join in? Have one DD who's nearly 8 and a mc in Oct 06. I've been lurking for ages and have found this thread really helpful, so am finally going to join in. I'm 15 weeks now and am definitely a paid up member of knicker checkers anonymous! I've had 3 lots of bleeding so far this pregnancy but so far my baby seems to be sticking!

Hi Crazybabs - congrats and all the best!

My symphathy for all of you that suffer from heartburn and ms. I have ms now and feel pretty miserable and tired, although it helps me trust that little one is still alive. Indeed when I am sick i wish it to go away and when is gone, I freak out because i think it's a bad sign. But luckily it has returned so far. Welcome to post-mc paranoia -- but there is defo a Glimmer of hope!
Uki I heard about the oxidized apple as well it's a German home remedy.

Glimmer · 26/03/2007 12:02

EJT - I realised after the post that you live somwhere else. Yes, accupuncture has been really, really helpful for me, too and although I'll never know for sure, it wouldn't surprise me if it helped falling pregnant again the first time we tried after the mc and complications.

Mumpbump · 26/03/2007 12:24

Morning all!

Congratulations and welcome to Cazzy and Jemimapuddleduck. Hope that both your pg's are trouble-free!

Good luck to Winnie for the afternoon. Here's hoping for good news...

Good luck also to Uki for Wednesday. If you can feel the baby move, I guess it should be alright! It'll be lovely for you to see your little baby again, I'm sure...

Very tired today so won't write much, but hello to everyone else!!

We were hoping that ds would sleep until 7am this morning with the clock change, but no such luck! He got up at 6:20 after waking twice in the night. Had a busy weekend as well and spent yesterday evening waxing a door which was harder work than I had anticipated... I'm already counting down to the end of the day when I can go home to bed...

Mumpbump · 26/03/2007 15:01

You can tell how knackered I am - meant to say good luck to Winnie on our antenatal thread and got mixed up. Roll on the next round of sleep deprivation...
