Rubles - the baby was 58.6mm long!! Amazing how they can measure to that (alleged) degree of accuracy.

I have a funny sleep thing and nightmares with ds. I used to really worry about falling over and hurting the baby in my sleep. I haven't really had it this time around except for Tuesday night when I jumped out of bed 'cos I thought someone was feeding electric wires down from the ceiling to electrocute us and banged my shin on the bed frame. Poor dh is ever so tolerant, but as you say, you can't help it. I have given myself a cut over my eyebrow and a black eye/chin before, so it seems that your self-preservation instinct doesn't even kick in.

Hope it was a one-off and I can understand it must be worrying when it might affect the baby, but I am sure it is well protected inside your tummy!!!

So sorry to hear your news this morning Herby my thoughts are with you, I understand what yu are going through.

MrsFish · 22/03/2007 10:38

Mumpbump - congrats

Woooozle100 · 22/03/2007 12:12

Herb - am so sorry. I know there isn't much to say - its cruel and unfair. I hope you are bearing up as well as you can under the circumstances. Sending you lots of kind thoughts and wishes x

ejt1764 · 22/03/2007 12:38

mumpbump - great news ...

my scan is today - at 1.45 - will post back later with details.

Good luck to fettle too, who I think has a scan today too (?)

fettle · 22/03/2007 12:44

Hi Girls

Good luck ejt for later!

Scan is 9am tom am - feeling strangely excited about it and totally pragmatic that what will be, will be. We've decided to probably not TTC again if it is not good news, as we don't want to go through this stress for a 4th time and we are already blessed with a beautiful little girl, who we were told we wouldn't have, so we will count our blessings!

However, of course, if it is good news, we'll be on a serious bonding session, as we've remained very unattached this time around as a defence mechanism - not on purpose, but it has just happened that way - but i'm hoping after 2 mc, that this is normal?

Rubles, pretty scary dream, DH had there, Poor bloke. Poor you, too, but as the others have said I think the little ones are very well protected inside you. My DH has pretty vivid dreams from time to time, where he shouts out loud about things, which terrify me.

take care all

Mumpbump · 22/03/2007 12:47

Ejt - already said it on the other thread, but you can never have too much good luck so good luck for this afternoon!

Fettle - fingers crossed for you for tomorrow too!

So many scans at the moment. Makes me feel quite nervous...

ejt1764 · 22/03/2007 12:49

fettle - good luck for tomorrow ...

I, too, have been trying not to get too attached to this pg, but I've been forced to in the past couple of days, by needing to clarify my thoughts for when i get to speak to consultant. Birth of ds left me so traumatised, that I need his support to do things my way ... I re-read my notes again this morning, so as to be able to get my thoughts really together, and was just amazed at how clear my recollections are.

[sigh]

need to go and eat / drink something now ... have been throwing up all morning, so am not particularly hopeful of keeping it down, but we try ....

... scan was wonderful. One baby, jumping up and down like a loon ... one mother, blabbing like a baby!

I cried over absolutely everybody!

Very happy!

Good luck for tomorrow, fettle!

PurpleLostPrincess · 22/03/2007 17:49

Wonderful news ejt! ((((((hugs))))))))

Daisybump · 22/03/2007 19:27

so so for herbaceous, I hope you are doing OK hon.....haven't posted for ages and was really enjoyin all the good news till I read that. Take some time out herb, re-group and try again. I wish you well for the future.

Know where you all are at with buying things. By the time I was this far on with DS I had all his babygros and vests and his coming home outfit bought and had stockpiled around three months supply of disposables, the cot was built up and the buggy waiting in the hall with a teddy in it! this time, I've bought three babygros and some muslin cloths and that's it. The cot and buggy are ordered though, but won't get delivered until three weeks before my due date. Although i'm now 29 weeks, i still can't quite believe that this time the pg will end with a baby.....

quick congrats to all of the positive scans out there....you must all be so relieved.

I'll keep dipping in from time to time to see how you are all doing, and of course I'll let you know how things go. I think I'm furthest on of all the recent post (along with juicyLucy, but not heard from her in ages either here or on the June ante-natal thread..hope you are OK juicy)

Take care and sticky dust and good vibes to all

Daisybump · 22/03/2007 19:52

Uki...a ps on names...a friend of mine, who is Japanese is called Uki...it means snow I think!
Mine was what we used to call our cat (who now lives with my mum) so I'm with you on the pet names, but the only thing is I like it as a name for the LO but DH won't hear of it

Daisybump · 22/03/2007 19:53

Obviously just Daisy....not Daisybump, that would be too silly

Woooozle100 · 22/03/2007 20:52

Yay! Congratulationd ejt. Glad the scan went well. Also to Mumpbump.

Best of luck for tomorrow, Fettle

fettle · 22/03/2007 21:23

Great news ejt!!!

thanks for your support for tomorrow everyone - I'll try and let you know as soon as possible!

take care
xx

Uki · 22/03/2007 22:44

Hi Again

I have missed some news.

Herb- So sorry, hun, You poor thing. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well soon.

Rubles- crikey, (as aussies say) What a weird dream dh had, od that he couldn't remember it being so realistic for him to be acting it out. My dh was swearing in his dream the other night, not as scary, but in the morning he said it was at my family.
I'm sure it won't happen again to you though. Could try getting him to talk about day before going to sleep.

Mump-so pleased to hear your scan went well.

Daisy- I did name dog because she is white and it means snow, thought i was real clever but i think there are quite a few Japanese Spitz dogs called uki. Funny how people call their pets their favourite names and then can't use them. Think we've all done that.

ejt- fantastic news, how many weeks are you now?

I've been ok, a bit worried as I was feeling bean lots and not so much today and yesterday. I had friends over for lunch, cooked up a storm but so exhausted by it all.

rubles · 23/03/2007 09:52

Fettle....hope you're well and it's good news..I guess it's probably over by now so i'll keep coming on to check.

Hope you're feeling some more movements soon Uki - maybe your baby has moved into a position where the movements are less obvious? Have you tried prodding about? - I used to find that made my dd kick back sometimes. re: the sleep situation, I think the problem was that we talked about his day just before dropping off and that probably got him wound up. He has done this sort of thing a couple of years ago when he went through a phase. For instance he would grab me and pull me out of the way of an imaginary bus, or he got in imaginary fights and punched the bedside table - he once punched my pillow, thankfully missing my head!

Hi all

At work, so sorry must be quick - but all ok. Saw a beating heart straight-off - started shaking and crying with relief!! Sonographer was very sweet and understanding. Minifettle wasn't moving very much though, so she tried everything to make him move for me, so that I could have my mind put completely to rest. He did then move a little bit and wave at us, so we have a photo of that - convinced it is boy, as he looked happy and relaxed lying nestled at the bottom of my womb, but obviously don't know yet - DD took copies of the photos into nursery and I left with her saying, look my pictures of Mummy's Monkey!!!

But, my due date has been moved forward to 23rd Sept, which she says makes me 12+6 - I really cannot believe that. My dates from temping give me a date of 12+4 and I don't think DH and I did the deed at the right time, as I would have just finished bleeding from my mc then!!! Head measures at 12+5, but I'm having another monster baby and it was the length (13+2) that moved my due date - how those measurements then transpire to 12+6 I don't know, but she has been scanning for 30 years - so she knows best!! Just have to keep an eye on things - as they induced me at 36 weeks with DD and if they have to do that again, it will be a bit concerning if their dates are even a week earlier than I think they should be. But anyway, look at me, looking forward to then already - have to get my head around everything first and there is a long way to go still!

DH is over the moon, which I'm so happy about, as I didn't think he was really on board with this pg as he was really worried about me losing it again, but seeing minifettle has made him realise how much he wants another one!!

Anyway, I'm sorry if you've read this post on several threads, I'm going to be really lazy and just copy and paste it, I'm afraid.

love to all
xxx

Mumpbump · 23/03/2007 12:04

Excellent news!!! Really pleased to hear that all is well and minifettle is in fine fettle! Forgive the poor pun - I couldn't resist...

fettleandminifettle · 23/03/2007 12:27

Meant 13+6, if anyone is interested, not 12+6 - oops!!!

still smiling

Woooozle100 · 23/03/2007 12:48

Excellent news, Fettle

I wouldn't be too concerned about the dating stuff at this stage, specially as they are moving you forward rather than back iyswim. (I'm v scared of being told 'my' dates are further on than the measurements cos that's what happened when pg with my dd. She was iugr with loads of other problems so not a good sign for me) They'll prolly have a better idea scanning you later on.

Glad yr still smiling. Are you smiling at strangers and telling them yet?

MrsFish · 23/03/2007 13:16

On my scan, she reckoned I was a little more forward than I said, but she has kept to my dates because there wasn't over a weeks difference.

So glad it went well for you
