Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

That's interesting re the gender Sammy! We're planning a private gender scan at 16 weeks so we'll see what they say then. Good luck for Friday, hope you get in early.

They just looked at the area where the bits are then both said they thought it was a boy Blueroses can't make out the nub from my scan pic. Congratulations on your very low risk results and little girl! Must be such a relief to have the stitch in. Hope you are feeling ok. Congratulations on completing too. We've just put our house on the market, moving seems to be popular on this thread.

Re being Consultant lead, my midwife referred me on account of IVF and meds and had my appointment last week. He said no risk factors to justify being Consultant lead. I would have liked the reassurance on more scans but am keen on a water birth which I don't think I'd be able to do if I was Consultant lead.

Your little boy is gorgeous MPP sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes, echoing what everyone else says, positive that they have picked up on it and it can be controlled, don't feel guilty!

Friends, interesting point re wbc. Got my blood test results from the midwife and by wbc are high so maybe there is a link there.

Hi Guys,
So I work for a small company, I'm the only employee so they've not dealt with anyone being pregnant before. Have I got this right that I'm entitled to full holidays still? My holidays are from January - January, so when I go on maternity leave I won't be back until the following year.

Friends - yes absolutely you are entitled to full holiday. All the time you're on maternity leave you are still employed by them and as such continue any benefits you had before. Xx

Hedgehog - I had headaches, especially when at work on the computer.

I found cold compresses helped a bit, but like you paracetamol was mostly useless. X

Thanks for the cold compresses tip sammy, will try that.

I've discovered that a coffee provides half an hour of relief, but since one mug of instant = 100mg I can only use it twice per day so will need to save it for important work meetings.

MPP what a lovely image. Sorry to hear about the GTT results you've done nothing to feel guilty about, hopefully the appointment tomorrow will go well

Genghis I agree it's really odd the different practices throughout the NHS

Sara you sound like your having a hard time of it hope the virus clears up soon. How did the scan go?

Sammy hope all goes well on Friday

Hedgehog I don't have any useful tips I'm afraid but I feel your pain, I had a 3 day headache last week (I'm 15 weeks)

Friends hope you get your holiday entitlement sorted

Thanks for all your comments everyone. I am alot calmer now, after spending the last two days doing an awful lot of research, though I'm anxious to have my appointment tomorrow. I will let you all know how it goes!

Thank you for the tips Blue. I've read that I should watch out for carbs, and apparently I'll get a monitor to check my blood each day, so I'll see how it all goes I guess!

Sammy Two days to go!! Wow! I cnt imagine how nervous and excited you must be feeling! I'll be thinking of you and your girls on Friday. Keep us posted when you can!!

Hedgehog as Sammy said, cold compresses were what helped me a little. I bought one of the reusable ones that you pop in the freezer and sometimes I put it on my head, but sometimes I found it was more helpful on the back of my neck. I also had no luck with paracetmol, but occassionally a big drink of cold water helped a bit.

Friends you are entitled to your usual holidays and accrue them as you usually would. Also, if I remember correctly, if you run into another year, you can still use up any holidays left from the previous year even if you usually arent allowed to carry them over.

Don't know about 2nd tri but in 3rd headaches are a sign of pre eclampsia

Get checked out

Yes entitled to 28days pro Rota to holidays when on ml

Sammy. Whoop. 2 more days to go

MPP good luck today, hope they manage to reassure you.

Sammy hope you are all set for your big day tomorrow! Will be thinking of you.

Sara glad the scan went well but sorry that you're feeling so unwell. Hope you're on the mend soon. Having to stay off most of the meds doesn't help, I know.

Hedgehog bit odd but I find Vicks vaporub workings amazingly well for headaches (best at night, or at least when you're at home lying down). But the cause could be dehydration so make sure you are drinking enough.

Friends yes you are right about holiday. Your work either need to let you take it e.g. as usual holiday days or weeks, or as a lump before or after your maternity leave, or pay you for it. I have 17 days to end August but as I may go from sick leave to maternity leave, there may not be an opportunity to take the holiday so I may just be paid for it.

Trixie glad everything is ok. IVF apparently has a higher predisposition to boys! Hope you find out at the gender scan soon.

Hi to everyone else

I'm recovering well physically but not a happy bunny. I felt fine after the procedure so I knew it would be easy to overdo it if I wasn't careful. But my sleep is messed up. I was going to bed tired and waking up at 3am and not going back to sleep. And then the opposite, on Tuesday, I had 2 appointments. So I got a lift to first appointment, lift to new home, sat on the sofa for a few hours, drove to second appointment (5 mins), drove back to parents (5 mins - still staying there after move). But I was exhausted afterwards, and still feeling it now.Sad

Hi All,
Hope all went well today MPP. My test is tomorrow so I'm sure I will be right behind you.

Sammy, all the best for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you and your twins xx

Blueroses, Sounds awful and very frustrating! I bet it's exhausting, I hope it improves soon for you. Are you on a normal plan now after the stitch or will you see the consultant frequently?

Thanks for all the info on holidays, they are really good at work but I want to make sure I'm getting what I'm entitled to because they wouldn't say if I hadn't taken enough! I've just booked two weeks off and will take the remaining 3 weeks before maternity.

I know I keep asking lots of questions but I keep panicking about what is normal and what is not now. Just wondering does anybody keep getting a really hard stomach? I've read about Braxton hicks but it literally stays that way for over an hour or so sometimes.

Hi to everyone else xx

Hi girls. Just a quick update to say it possibly won't be tomorrow now. Special care is full so they might have to delay us. We'll find out more in the morning.
I'd psyched myself up for it and so the crash back to reality has knocked me for six.
Will keep you posted. X

Blue. Sorry feeling tired. Take things easy

Sammy. Guess every day inside you is a bonus and they can't be that worried if delay tho sure it is worrying for you

Friends my stomach also goes rock hard, and has done so for weeks. Sometimes I get cramps at the same time but other times it's just belly rock :)

I hope your appointment went well MPP?

Sorry to read about your exhaustion Blue - I hope you start feeling more rested.
