Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Mpp, yes time is flying by! It's my first day in the third trimester today! That's an amazingly clear 4d pic he looks gorgeous. How have you been measuring at your midwife appointments?

Awwww gorgeous pic. I do love these scans at this time (16w too skinny and alien like) but 27/31 look all plump and cuddly

Bubs is measuring over as well. At 31 w is almost 5 lbs !!!! But I measure week or two more

have visions of a 10 lber

Thanks both! I keep looking at them all the time!! The last time I was measured at my midwife appointment was at 24 weeks and that was 'fine' apparently. My midwife said that the GTT test WAS my 28 week appointment and I would be measured/listen to heartbeat etc next at my 31 week appointment so its been a while between measurements. I'm on pins now, waiting for the GTT results but I'm also a bit panicky about a 10lber!! In fact, my 13 year old was 9lb 15, but I never had a GTT test with her. My current consultant said at our first meeting that she wouldnt be suprised if I had had gestational diabetes the first time but that it hadnt been picked up for some reason, but I suppose thats something I'll never know. I'll just wait and see what the results say I think, and then indulge in some panicked googling once I have some more info!

I had a midwife appt at 24 weeks but she said it's too early to measure and I'm going back at 26 weeks for the first one. She will measure every 2-3 weeks then so seems quite a wait between yours. Maybe you could contact her if you're concerned.

Report
MPP81 · 05/02/2017 23:11

Yes, I think I might do that. I'll wait for the GTT results first. They said I should have them by Wednesday at the latest and if there's no issue with that then I'll book an earlier appointment to see her. If there IS a problem with the results, I presume they'll want to see me anyway. Glad all is well with you! :-)

What a lovely picture MPP! Those cheeks :) It'll be interesting to see what the GTT results are.

Welcome User!

It's really interesting to read the different experiences for people in regards to IVF/consultant/midwife. Seems crazy that it can be so varied, but am glad that everyone is happy with their choices.

That will be interesting about whether or not you're induced early Friends, and glad that they're monitoring you weekly.

Great news on the third trimester Lucie.

I hope the six weeks fly by Kiwi

I'm thrilled the stitch went well Blue, and hope you're resting up. Also, congratulations on completing.

Come on BabySmurfy! Good luck with the birth Smurfy - I hope everything goes smoothly.

What a beautiful picture MPP.Smile All I can say about the GTT is that my sister was contacted within a few hours when she had it. ( clearly that means nothing).

Interesting about baby bond saying that you're measuring so far ahead. I was told at my 16 week and 22 week with them that baby friends was measuring 6 days ahead. However it wasn't flagged up by the NHS at either my 18 week or 19 week scan with them. Not sure if that's because the growth scan start at around 28 weeks?

mpp81 great pic very squidgy cheeks. Hope you get your results soon.
Sadly I did not morph into radiant goddess at WK 12. Have been ill for past 2 weeks. Can't sleep, full of muck, sick all the time. Doc says is virus and have to let nature take its course. So still rocking washed out hag look. Think I scared delivery man earlier. Off to scan later can't wait to check on him again! Waves to everyone else. X

Thanks all!

Just had GTT results. I have gestational diabetes. They've given me an appointment for Thursday to 'talk everything through' but I've no idea what I'm supposed to do until then, or what to expect. Feeling pretty crappy and about to commence googling.

Oh MPP, try not to worry too much I know it's hard. They will probably try and keep it under control with diet at first. Let them know about measuring ahead, they will probably keep an eye on you now with ultrasound. X

Thanks for the reassurance folks, I'm calm again!

MPP my colleagues weren't a bit surprised, but very nice and congratulatory Smile

friends yes I'm famished all the bloody time! Not gained any weight yet (prob due to all the puking) but am eating like an especially glutinous horse!

Try not to worry too much MPP there are tons of things they can do now to keep you and the baby healthy.

In the meantime you could try low GI foods to help keep your blood sugar stable. Also eating little and often helps.

Such a cute scan pic! Flowers

Mp. Sorry test showed positive. They will chat to you about how to control it. Ideally diet. If not then insulin

Im starting to feel uncomfortable. Bubs is taking up room 😂 I struggle to eat as she's hogging my stomach by hugging round me

Saw mw today. All fine tho bubs measuring slightly big. Convinced I'm going to have a 9/10lber

Mpp, really sorry to hear about your result but as others said now it's been identified at least it can be controlled.

Sorry about the result MPP but good that they're dealing with it asap. Good luck on Thursday.

Poor you Sara. I was another one who missed out on the 12 week metamorphosis despite reading about it on every app!! My sickness did stop at 16weeks though. I hope you start feeling better soon. Good luck at your scan!

Great that your appointment went well Blondes.

Hello to everyone else!

Thanks all. I had a bit of a meltdown all over poor DH when he got in last night, but luckily for me he is pretty switched on and was a lovely calming influence. We googled together and advice seems to be cut down on sugar as much as possible til the appointment Thursday, then we'll see what's what. As you all say, at least it can be controlled now, so I'm trying not to stress about it too much, though I do feel guilty as hell!

Glad all went well with the midwife Blondes.

Sorry the metapmorphosis didn't happen Sara! Hope you're feeling better and that your scan went well!

Hope everyone else is ok!

MPP don't feel bad - not your fault at all. I also had GD and all was fine. Cut out obvious sugar, watch out for cereal (it always increased my blood sugar no matter how healthy it claimed to be) they'll tell you to watch your carb intake too but I was fine with it, do still eat, don't deprive yourself. You'll be ok Flowers

MPP - sorry about the GTT results. I remember a colleague of mine saying his wife was pretty devastated when she found out she had it, but it wasn't long before she had it completely under control.

Blondes, I'm sure buns will be 'normal' sized.. they really can't accurately measure anything!

Sara I didn't get the pregnancy glow at 12 weeks either. Like genghis my sickness tailed off around week 16... still don't think I glowed though! Lol.

As for me, 2 days to go!
This time Friday I may well have had my girls.
We have to be at the hospital at 7.15 at which point we'll find out where we are on the list. First section is at 8.30!!!! They go in medical priority but twins puts us quite high up the list so you never know. The sooner the better as of course I can't eat the day of the op! They do give preventative anti emetics though so there's a plus! Xx

Sara I'll join you in the 'washed-out hag' corner. I'm 14+1 and still puking, and now have had a terrible headache for the past 24 hrs that won't shift! Super annoying, especially since paracetamol isn't touching it. Sad

Anyone suffering/suffered 2nd tri headaches and have any helpful tips?

Good luck Sammy for Friday xx

Hedgehog, I've had bad headaches. I've been asking DH for an head massage! Drinking enough water might also help.
