Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Hi ladies,
Am joining from the 10+ttc thread. Finally got bfp after 16 months and 1 mc. Feels absolutely surreal at the moment and I had to do 3 tests to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong and making a mistake. So nice to know it can eventually happen after nearly giving up all hope x

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2017 20:49

Chloe. Welcome and congrats

Custardandcream · 24/01/2017 08:49

Blondes she's lovely

Chlo welcome and congratulations

MPP81 · 24/01/2017 12:08

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing well! Time for a catch up!

Grumpel I imagine you've finished work now. How are you finding it? Not long left now!

Ghengis Glad to hear you had a fab holiday and that your scan went well.

Friends I am so, so pleased that everything is looking ok and baby friends is still snuggled in tight! Thats fantastic news! You must have had such a terrifying few weeks, and I hope that you are ok. I've also had the shooting pains, and everything I've read seems to suggest they are quite common, but its always worth getting them checked if you're worried.

Blueroses I hope the ceremony for Jovan went well, and that you are ok. Flowers Echoing the others, I think you are doing a brilliant job of making people aware of the possibility of cervix issues. As you said, it takes such a short time to measure them, its baffling how its not done as standard. I'm so glad you've been given a date for the stitch. As for time off, I think you hhave to do whatever feels right to you and gives you peace of mind. I think its entirely understandable if you dont want to go back to work around 20 weeks. Good luck with the house move!!

Lovely to hear that everything is going well Stealth

Blondes My birth plan is also just to listen to (and probably take) whatever advise I am given. I don't have my consultant appointment for another few weeks though, and that's the one I'm looking forward to having for birth info discussions. What a beautiful picture! I'm glad the scan went well. Mine is a week saturday :-)

Congratulations on your little boy Vixx!!

Custard Glad the conversation with DH's parents went well. :-) At 12 weeks, I halved my dose of progesterone for a week, then came off it completely. I didnt feel right coming off it 'cold turkey' though my clinic insisted it would not be a problem. Hope you're ok.

Rosebud Lovely to hear you are doing ok and fab news about hearing the heartbeat. Its such a beautiful sound! I hope its helped put your mind at rest a little.

Sammy Oh wow, you have a date for the twins arrival!! It must all be quite nerve wracking. I will be thinking of you over the next few weeks and hoping those little babies grow quickly for you!

Trixie Lovely to hear your scan went well. The difference from the viability scan is amazing isnt it!! Yes, we booked the 4d scan after. We are having it a week saturday and I cant wait, but I'm also nervous! Its with babybond too as they include all the wellbeing checks and measurements. Hope the 12 week scan comes around quickly for you.

Welcome Chlo and congratulations!!

No news here really. Everything seems ok. 27+3 today and heard heartbeat again at my midwife appointment last week. Other than that, I'm just waiting for my GTT test and our private scan next week, and trying to get all my uni work finished before baby arrives.

waves to anyone I've missed!!

HP07 · 24/01/2017 20:14

Hi Guys, just wanted to drop in and see how you were all getting on. Miss speaking with you all. Can anyone tell me who has had their babies from the previous threads and what they had save me trawling through 1000's of messages. Good luck to those who are still waiting. X

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 25/01/2017 09:32

Hi HP, I hope all is going well? There have been lots of babies and a thread for them in the post natal club I think: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2808184-babies-after-infertility

Welcome Chlo, and congratulations! How are you feeling?

I'm pleased everything is going well MPP - it's lovely hearing the heartbeat, and good luck with the scan. My next scan is on Tuesday so count down here too.

Hello to everyone else!

HP07 · 25/01/2017 10:11

Oh thats lovely. I didn't realise that. Ill pop on over now. Funnily enough I haven't found having the baby half as scary as the pregnancy. He's 16 weeks old no,my goodness doesn't time fly when your not nervously awaiting the birth. He started rolling over last week and is getting really big - in the 75th centile for weight and height. I hope to see you lot over in postnatal soon. Good luck. X

loopylou1984 · 25/01/2017 10:41

Popping my head in from amongst the moving boxes and paint tins!
Hope everyone's ok?

I'm 31+5 today and so only have 2+2 to go until my scheduled c section!! Eek. I'm excited and scared all at once, and am just praying that my baby girls will be ok with no lasting problems from being born early.

Next scan is on Monday at 32+3, so should get more idea of weights and concrete plans then. After the TTTS I genuinely never though I'd carry them this far so it already feels like a miracle!

loopylou1984 · 25/01/2017 10:42

HP - I can't believe your little one is 16 weeks! Time goes so fast!

HP07 · 25/01/2017 11:00

Wow Sammylou is that twin to twin transfusion syndrome you had with your girls? Did you have surgery in uterus or just monitoring? Good luck with everything. X

loopylou1984 · 25/01/2017 11:08

I had surgery at 22 +4. Most terrifying and awful time of my life as the risk of losing them was so high.
Kings College hospital are amazing though. They saved our girls without a doubt. X

HP07 · 25/01/2017 11:28

I can't even imagine how you must've felt. You're so brave. Xx

loopylou1984 · 25/01/2017 12:23

I was far from brave, but it was one of those things I just had to deal with. There was no other choice. We'd have lost them if we'd done nothing.
In utero surgery is an amazing thing! X

Grumpelstiltskin · 25/01/2017 13:49

Hi all! Greetings from maternity leave. So far it's a bit like being a student again - waking up late, lounging around eating carbs whilst watching tv... also organising everything for the baby as have been quite slow at getting started on that. Almost 37w now so need to get a wiggle on in case s/he's an early one.

Good to hear everyone's news. Lovely detailed photo, Blondes, I had a terrible melty 4d scan so nice to see that some come out well!

Sammy Hope the moving is going ok and those little girls are growing well. How surreal for you that the stress and worry of this pregnancy is almost over and you'll get to meet them soon. I know it's a bit trite to say all will be fine given you'll of course have a set of new concerns with them being preemies, but the care you've had sounds amazing and I'm sure will continue once they're born.

Rose so happy all is ok and you heard the heartbeat. It's amazing isn't it? Hope the countdown to 20w isn't too painful.

Glad to hear all's looking good MPP and genghis

Hey HP, awesome to hear all's going well with babyHP - lovely to have dispatches from the other side!

Welcome to chlo and any others I may have missed. This thread is a lifeline during the insanity of a post-barren pregnancy, everyone here is amazing, and gets it.

Big wave to everyone else. X

Blueroses99 · 26/01/2017 19:21

Blondes that scan pic definitely makes it feel more real! Not long before you meet her!

Welcome chlo.

MPP glad all is well with you. I'm so forgetful these days, I can't imagine studying at the same time!

HP thanks for popping back! Really happy that all is well with you and baby HP.

Sammy hope you manage to settle in before your babies arrive. You've come such a long way since the TTTS op.

Grumpel apparently babies don't need much in the first few days so just relax and look after yourself. I'll be joining you in the student routine soon, I'm really looking forward to it.

Hi to everyone else!

I had my 12w scan this week, all is looking good so far, and I agreed to the Harmony test as it's cheaper via NHS and I didn't get around to arranging it before. My last day at work is next Wednesday and I'm having the stitch early next Friday. I'm staying with my parents for a few days afterwards so I don't get in the way of the big move. Finding everything v tiring, I will find it easier when I'm not also working and needing to pack!

RoseBud2016 · 27/01/2017 12:32

Sammy Eek! Not long at all for you now! Do you have everything ready at home? I bet nesting has fully kicked in for you now.

Grumpel Fab that you are now on mat leave- and enjoying the rest! Have you been told that they wont let you go overdue due to it being an IVF pregnancy or could you potentially go overdue? In theory you still have time to get things organised. Most things can wait anyhow!

Blueroses So pleased to hear that your 12 week scan went well. You have so much going on all at once- but it will be worth it once you've moved. Does your new place need much doing to it once you move in?

MPP Do you have uni exams to prepare for too? So pleased things are going well.

Hi everyone else!

AFM- 18 weeks today and getting a bigger bump by the day. Experiencing lots of aches and mild pains in my back and abdomen, which I assume is normal (reassurance anyone?) And patiently waiting for our anomaly scan in 2 weeks time.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2017 15:07

Sammy are you packed? I've done bubs bag but not mine yet

Blue. Hope stutch went well

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2017 15:07

Duh. Next fri.

Blueroses99 · 28/01/2017 09:41

Yup Blondes next Friday. 3 more days of work left... eek!

Rosebud no the new house is immaculate so no work needed. (The kids bedrooms might eventually be redecorated as they are cute but themed for older kids. But no rush!)

Stretching pains are normal but could be another UTI if you're feeling it around your back? Unless you mean backache which is normal.

MPP81 · 28/01/2017 10:25

Morning all!

Rosebud I have had lots of random stretching aches and pains since about 16 weeks. I think its normal, but its always worth checking with your midwife if you're worried, to put your mind at rest. Haha, I dont have exams this year, luckily! Last year I had one 3 days after our wedding, and that was a bit of a killer, but this year its just one 5000 word final assignment. Its not due in til May, but since our baby boy is due in April I am desperate to get it in early as I think I'm unlikely to get any work done the first month of his life, and I REALLY don't want to have to defer the module for the sake of one last assignment. The only problem is, I have 3 other assignments due in BEFORE the final assignment! The next 12 weeks should be interesting! Luckily, I am only doing one module this year. I was signed up for two, which would have finished my degree, but when we found out our IVF had worked, I dropped one because, while I thought I would be fine Sept-Feb, I dont think I would have managed too well from Feb onwards, trying to get two lots of assignments done. Plus the other module had an exam in June. The plan now is to start the final module part time either this september or next september, with a view to looking for a job around the time LO starts school. :-)

Good luck with the scan tomorrow Sammy. Hope the move is going well!

Blueroses Ah its fab moving into a house that needs very little work! We moved into ours in September and it didnt need a thing done. We are having the baby's room painted blue this week but thats just to satisfy me and my 'want'. Good luck with the harmony test, the stitch and the move! :-)

Ghengis Good luck with your scan Tuesday!!

Glad you're enjoying maternity leave Grumpel!!

Hope everyone else is ok :-)

Sara237 · 28/01/2017 17:33

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend. I'm waiting on the harmony test feeling impatient. Still sick all the time and generally feeling a wuss. 12 weeks on Thur when I am assuming I will go from looking like a washed up hag to a radiant goddess!
Blurroses - didn't know harmony test could be via NHS. Is this a trial in your area? I went to ultrasound direct. Took three goes to get blood eek! Glad stitch week is nearly here for you x

Blueroses99 · 28/01/2017 18:44

Not sure if it's a trial Sara but I think it might be a new thing. The nurse took 2 vials of blood, the first is tested and if there are risks indicated they send off the second vial to test more extensively. If I pay, I get the second sent off straight away to do the more in depth tests and find out the sex (optionally). It wasn't in any of my paperwork, but I got talking to the nurse about wanting to know the sex and she told me about the tests on offer and said that in future the information would be given out in our files. I should get the results this week, it'll be over the phone rather than by post (because I paid Hmm). When do you get your results?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 28/01/2017 21:15

Sorry you're feeling awful Sara and I hope you get your results soon. Funny you say about getting your results over the phone Blue - where I got it done, they will only send the results to your Obstetrician and then he was like, I'll only ring you if I have any concerns. Talk about adding to stress levels!

Great news on your 12 week scan and that your new house doesn't need much work Blue - that's a relief! Will be thinking of you on Friday x

I hope the two weeks fly by for you Rose and I'm with the others on the stretching pains, as I had them too.

Glad you're enjoying maternity leave/student life Grumple :)

Well done on the studying MPP...I find it hard to motivate myself to do anything these days so am super impressed! I hope you get it all done in time.

As for me, the dreaded morning sickness has come back :( It's definitely not as bad but still not pleasant. Gah.

Sara237 · 29/01/2017 07:58

Thanks Genghis - should get results soon had test Mon and should be 7-10 days. They email results direct to you unless pos for downs then they call you. They will also tell us gender with results so can't wait!
Sorry your sickness is back though its kind of reassuring in a miserable way! I have found constant eating helps ☺

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 29/01/2017 10:12

Oh wow, I bugger off for a fortnight and everything's moved on so much! Blondes that scan pic made me well up, I'm so thrilled for you.

Glad you're getting your stitch Blueroses, I hope it's not too sore. Rest lots and stay hydrated.

Custard it's prob just bloating, but make sure you're comfortable in nice stretchy waistbands! I'm 12+5 and not showing yet but get bloated towards the end of the day. Activated charcoal and lactulose are my saviours!

Great news that BabyFriends is hanging in there, I've been praying for you. Flowers

I've got my dating scan on Tues, I really hope all goes well. DH can't wait to tell people! I expect my team have guessed (I've thrown up at my desk, and had many a sprint for the loo) but no-one has been rude enough to ask.

What are the rest of you doing about exercise? I'm still cycling to work (8 miles) and doing a couple of PT sessions a week (my PT is is qualified in pre- and post-natal exercise) but have cut out long runs and HIIT. DH thinks I should stop everything but my midwife says that's bad for the baby and birth will be harder if I don't do some exercise. Any thoughts?
