Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

I'm getting there, the nursery is all set up - we just need the walls to fully dry out before we can put the wall stickers up. The thing is we have time as they won't be coming straight home anyway.

Yes, I know, I expected them to be small. I'd just hoped to get to 36 weeks so they'd have a better chance of being bigger but hey ho.
If only I could express some colostrum for them to have stocked up... sadly it seems my body can't do that either.

I wouldn't worry about the size estimations too much, my cousin got told her baby was huge and she was less than 8lb when born!

JustTrixie · 01/02/2017 13:21

Thanks for the reassurance yesterday everyone. Scan went well this morning, didn't realise how long it would take, they checked everything and all looks good. Got our screening results there and then too and they came back low risk. Asked them to guess the sex (I know its very early but just for fun) and they said they were 70% sure its a boy- we'll see I guess.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2017 13:21

Think I want nursery done before bubs is home although will be in our room for a good 3/6mths sleep depending

But if not done then extra hassle /time to do when have small babies about

We also have wall stickers. Thought the easiest way to decorate and then change as gets older

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2017 13:22

Trixie. Glad scan went well :)

HopefulKate1980 · 01/02/2017 14:38

Hi everyone

My god this thread moves so so quickly. Hope you are all well. I'll catch up shortly and read it all back.

I am 35 weeks now and getting very close! Argh! I finished for maternity leave on Friday - two weeks earlier than planned as my partner has been v sick with sepsis and in hospital for 5 weeks as they battled to save his leg and prevent the infection spreading.... Slightly stressful to say the least, but he is getting better now although slowly... Been a long few months but at least it meant I didn't obsess about the pregnancy so much.

Who is due next? I am due on the 8th March, but from memory I think there are a few others before me on this thread??

xx

loopylou1984 · 01/02/2017 15:46

Yay Trixie! So glad the scan went well :).
We were told ours were boys at the -2 week scan... by 16 weeks they were saying girls!

Blondes - yes to changing the stickers! What theme are you going for?

Hopeful - goodness that sounds stressful, glad your DH is on the mend now. I've jumped the queue a little as I'm having a c section at 34 weeks on 10th Feb (the day my mat leave officially starts!), so I think I might be next! Xx

friends123 · 01/02/2017 16:13

Hi all,
Sammy not long to go. Eek! I'm glad that there still putting weight on, that's a really good sign. I can imagine it must be so scary but I'm sure they will thrive. All the best.

JustTrixie, I'm so glad your scan went well. I'm sorry I don't know much about immunes and this might sound like a complete novice thing to say, but I know that your wbc etc can certainly be a lot higher during pregnancy.

Lucie, your very prepared. I'm glad your 24 week went well. Are you managing to stay away from the private scans?; )

Hopeful, it sounds like you & Dh have been through an awful lot the last few weeks, I'm so glad he's on the mend.

Hope your doing okay blueroses xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2017 16:14

Kate. Wow. Poor dh. Sounds a nightmare. Glad on the mend

Sammy. Bears 💓🐻💓

Nice to hear from you Kate - though sorry to read you and DP have been through such a tough time. Hopefully your mat leave will be a bit more relaxing as he continues to recover.

I think Sammy is up next with the twins and then I'm due on 17th, so it's all happening soon Shock

Congrats to Trixie and Hedgehog on the positive scans * - yay for those milestones! And lovely to hear about another thread boy, Sara!*
*
Blondes, baby Grump was measuring 4lb 3oz at 32w and bang on the average apparently so your girl and little Genghis seem about right to me. Hopefully the head will slow down and the rest of the baby catch up though, Genghis!*

friends123 · 01/02/2017 16:23

Blondes, Beautiful picture of baby blondes, not long left now. When are you finishing for maternity leave?

Genghis. Good luck! Apparently my little boy's head is measuring 6 days ahead too. ( From the 21 week scan I had)

Afm. Had my 25 week appointment and blood test today. All looks good. I'm measuring ahead, so I've got a scan at 28 weeks. I've also got the GTT next Friday because I continuously have sugar in my urine, no matter what I eat. I've already changed my diet to no sugar and hardly any carbs but nothing seems to be working.

Big waves to anybody I've missed. Xx

Grumpelstiltskin · 01/02/2017 16:23

Whoops, lots of cross-posting! Hello to everyone else- how are you doing, friends?

Grumpelstiltskin · 01/02/2017 16:24

Ah, you've already said! Need to type faster! Wink

Blueroses99 · 01/02/2017 21:35

Ooh I love it when there's lots of positive news!

Genghis I'm sorry that you're suffering with sickness again. Hope it eases soon.

Hedgehog hope you had a nice holiday. I'm off exercise completely so not really able to help with sensible advice. Great that the nuchal scan was good and low risk.

Custard great that you are feeling better. I don't think my area offer extra scans just for IVF but I think the extra scans are reassuring. I remember being baffled last time that there were no more after 20w!

Sara poor you, that sickness does not sound fun at all. But congrats on the results and your boy!

Lucie glad that all is well with you.

Trixie I don't know anything about NK cells so no advice but I hope it all goes well for you. I had my flu jab in October before pregnancy. I get it every year (free at work) but I missed it one year and was Ill over Christmas which was horrible, and I've never missed it again. Good to hear the screening was all fine. Is the boy guess based on nub theory or could they tell from the scan? I thought it was too soon!

Sammy the girls are growing so much! I'm sure they will be really well looked after when they get here. Counting down to the 10th with you.

Blondes hope bubs turns for you, glad everything is ok otherwise.

Kate so good to hear from you! Its great that the pregnancy is progressing well but I'm sorry to hear about DP. Hope he is on the mend. Must have been a scary time for you both.

Friends that must be a relief that everything is looking good. Good luck with the GTT. I'm constantly thirsty but they won't do a GTT as there is no sugar in my urine.

I had my last day of work today. I got my Harmony test results and everything is super low risk (yay!) but the sex results have gone AWOL!

friends123 · 02/02/2017 10:48

Hi Grumps . I'm good thanks. It feels so good to be at 25 weeks. I obviously don't want baby to show up any time soon but I feel so much more positive about the situation now.( I certainly love feeling baby's head poking out😊. )

I bet you're counting down the days now. Very exciting.

Blue, I'm glad you're doing well. Fantastic news with the Harmony results too. Make sure you take it easy, I'm currently on no exercise etc, I feel a bit guilty because I'm enjoying it so much.
I had no risk factors for diabetes, it wasn't until my 16 week appointment that I started with sugar in the urine and it's been there every week since.
