38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

Dh has been ill the last two days so I've been looking after him as well as dd plus I'm totally freaking out that me and dd are going to catch whatever it is he has got ! Such bad timing ! Anyway that aside I did have a nice morning as my mum took dd swimming while I sat in the café which was relaxing.

Dh is a bit better now and says he's going back to work tomorrow. I'm going to attempt a trip out into town.

Baby will not keep still this evening!

Anyone else eating far far too much sugar?? I just can't stop eating cake and biscuits!

Hi guys... I'm on the last leg too at 38+2... So ready for it to be over now!
Lost some mucus plug on Monday and had really intense cramps, not so much today though.
Was trying to keep baby put till sept, so from tomorrow eve I think I'll ramp up the eviction process lol.

Goshhhh I can not wait to sleep on my stomach!!!

Good luck with the induction far!

Having a pregnancy massage tomorrow, so that's something to look forward to. Just have to try and get some sleep now...

Foxes yes I can't stop eating junk!

Had an ok night's sleep, although still waking up every hour to go to the toilet, so am still exhausted. Baby is very active again this morning. Spd seems to be coming back but I am seeing my chiropractor today and she works wonders on it, as well as sorting my dodgy back. Hopefully I will feel a bit more human later on!

Have a feeling this baby will be late, as DS was late.

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone!

Had the pessary put in but not much happening at the moment so it's just a waiting game!!

Literally had the worst night sleep. Woman in cubicle opposite was, what I can only describe as mooing like a cow half the night inbetween gasps of gas and air. They finally moved her at about 2 am... To the room opposite where she has been screaming at the top of her lungs for the rest of the night. I thought she was actually being murdered at one point. Angry I finally drifted off a little for midwife to then come and prod me awake to monitor baby again.

Mooing woman has made me feel a bit anxious as to whether I can actually do this now! Sad

ohidoliketobe · 31/08/2016 07:32

Ohh good luck far. Don't let the moo-er panic you, everyone's different in labour. My DH said I was 'surprisingly polite' when I had DS. I hated being told it but it's very true - just go with your body (and don't forget your pain relief options!).

Could we have your first graduate from the thread today?! Exciting

I had a broken nights sleep. Turning over in bed is really painful now as my pelvis clicks really loud. Its my due date today and was hoping to wake up to my waters breaking like it did with DD but no such luck Angry

I feel like I have flu, have a terrible headache and want to cry. I'm 39+2. Labour with DD started at 39+3. Keen to get this going now.

I'll join the horrible sleeping club!
With me its the most crazy dreams and also getting incredibly hot (potentially related!)

Last night I was so freaked out by one of the dreams that I tried to do my Hypnobirthing breathing to calm myself down!
To be fair it did seem to work so I guess that's a plus!

Hope you're doing well far! Definitely I second that it's different for everyone, different pain thresholds, positions and circumstances make the world of difference to everyone's experience.

Oh my goodness this thread is a life saver!

I'm 38 weeks and CS is booked for next week.

This is my 2nd DC and I'm finding it very tough going. I've turned into a snarling weepy mess! I've got the insomnia, chronic acid indigestion, tightness, back ache. You name it I've gone for the full package!

The only one escaping my wrath is my gorgeous little boy. I can't be grumpy with him. DH is being a saint.

Send a big un MNet hug out to all in the same boat Flowers

Have you told them about the pain with your IV? Might not be in right?

Hi all. First post on MN having lurked for ages but thought I'd join in for a bit of moral support. Am 39 weeks today and soooooo pleased we're nearly at the 1st Sept! Def planning sex and curry tonight! Good luck to the people being induced 👍🏻

Report
DesignedForLife · 31/08/2016 13:19

Yes I've told them about the pain, apparently the Dr who put it in bruised it, so it's not going to get better :(

Report
Bambamrubblesmum · 31/08/2016 13:53

sorry to hear that Designed Sad

I was induced first time round so sympathies to all playing the waiting game.

Well I has a pleasant lunch out with the toddler but then it all went very wrong on the way back as she had a huge tantrum and I had to pick her up kicking and screaming walk all the way back to the car then she wouldn't get in the car and I was so worried about the road I had to wrestle her in then shut the door and let her just sit in the back crying until she was calm enough to steal her in! She fell asleep five minutes later and I burst into tears! My back is really hurting now and I've been having some painful braxton hicks (presumably BH anyway!) .

Dh is still feeling unwell he has got home from work but he can't help much either.

Good luck to everyone being induced!

Good luck Designed as well!

Have been to see my chiropractor today and she's sorted my back and neck but there's not much more she can do for the spd. She said she thinks the weight of my bump is too much for the bottom of my pelvis to keep supporting. Am hoping baby arrives sooner rather than later now as I don't want to be stuck not being able to walk!

At least the weather is cooler today!

Oh foxes that's a hard day Sad
Fighting with preschoolers/toddlers is my least favourite thing!

designed can they switch it to your other non-bruised hand? That might help?

far hope you're getting on well as well Smile

For everyone who's on maternity leave from work did you/are you stressing a lot about whether you'd finished everything that needed doing? I've got two days left in the office and I just can't see how I'm going to get everything done. I'm hoping it's not just me who feels like this and that maybe it will somehow be ok...?
I'm considering leaving the house at 6 am tomorrow to try and get an few more bits done.
It's so stupid really - I'm thinking about leaving after mat leave Anyway because the pay is shit for what I do and here I am planning to give them even more time before I go!

Dilli I felt a bit like that, desperate not to leave things in a state for the person that was taking over from me, more than concern for management iyswim. But the day I left I shut my phone and laptop in the cupboard and haven't really thought about work since. Well, until today when I discovered that they've messed up and somehow only paid me for half of August Angry

designed hope all is going well. I know it's been a bit of time and hope you've progressed since last update, but of cannula is still hurting can you ask if they can switch hands? When I've had one previously I actually found having it in the crease of my elbow felt less weird/ irritating. Also, as with taking bloods, nurses are a 10 times better than doctors at inserting them!

dilli not this time round as Im self employed now but when I had dd I was exactly the same I kept going in early to get things done and totally wore myself out and then I never went back anyway because they were totally inflexible with hours. Anyway it shows you're very conscientious and best to leave on a good note but don't overdo it and exhaust yourself. My last day before maternity leave with dd I actually had a bit of bleeding so I ended up just shutting my computer down and going straight to the hospital without a backwards glance. I did ring my boss later on when I knew everything was ok and explained but your baby obviously comes first and your health too.

Dd is in bed now phew and I'm going to have some more cake!! I must stop eating so much cake ...

hedgehog and foxes thanks so much :)
I'm glad it's not just me and I know that really I can only do what I can do.
It's not helped that my company have put NOTHING in place to take over while I'm away so I'm feeling like I need to take care of the next six month's work as well.
DH says (and he's right) that it's not my problem, it's theirs.

Cake and chocolate are a definite food group for me at the moment! And I believe this carries on being necessary while breastfeeding/recovering post partum!
