38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

38 exactly here. On the one hand desperate to make it to my elcs date, but that's at 39+5 and I want this baby out! Our childminder is also away for the BH weekend, so really need to make it to Tuesday at least. Hoping that if I can ignore the increasingly frequent cramps and Braxton hicks they will just go away and not turn out to be early labour signs Confused Oh, and the toddler is teething a molar and has had croup this week. And it's too hot. Fed up, can you tell?!

Moonrocks6 · 26/08/2016 08:42

37 plus 2 so not quite as far along as you ladies but starting to feel it.
Desperately want baby to hold on til September but hip pain and swolen hands/ feet are making sleep difficult.
Pain under bump when walking is bloody awful.
Signing in for misery and company.

foxessocks · 26/08/2016 08:48

Haha me me! 39 + 1 here and also trying to hold out hold out until my due date of 1st September which is nuts really as it's not like I can control anything!! Felt really stressed yesterday as I had to take my dd to the doctors then I had the midwife and then we both had haircuts so we were in and out all day and I'd had enough!

Meant to be meeting friends today but feel like I just want to stay at home ...just feel bad for my dd who probably wants to do something more interesting Sad

Dilligufdarling · 26/08/2016 08:52

Hi all!
Am "only" 35+6 so not late late yet.
Am still working though for another week and the commute (1.5 hrs each way) is a killer!
Generally I don't mind being pregnant, but the combination of muggyness, heat, bad sleeping and general not being able to move is taking its toll! I've never been pregnant at this time of year before... Hope this dc appreciates it's September birthday GrinGrin

Backhometothenorth · 26/08/2016 08:54

Just what I needed thanks for this post! Yep 38 plus 4 here and section booked for Tuesday at 39 plus 1. 4 year old up all night with a temperature Confused so my plan for a relaxing last few days not really panning out.

Littlemessymiss · 26/08/2016 09:22

I am checking in too! Desperately trying to hold on until 1st sept. 3yo Dd keeping me on my toes.
I am 39+3 so have a very slim chance of making September.
Last night's insomnia was pretty bad. 2 hours of sleep then awake until 1hr before I needed to get up. Confused
Really not looking forward to the inevitable change in household routine.

Jenjen85 · 26/08/2016 09:58

Im 39 + 2 and so ready to have this baby. Im really hoping for an August baby not September as ill miss out on a year of childcare is that me being selfish?

Dilligufdarling · 26/08/2016 10:00

Jen, lol not selfish at all. Grin
But wouldn't you gain a year of child care if it's September?

Jenjen85 · 26/08/2016 10:16

I thought id lose a year? Am i being daft or has baby drained my lady brain cell?

Littlemessymiss · 26/08/2016 10:23

It's a hell of a lot cheaper having an August baby in terms of paying for childcare!

Farfromtheusual · 26/08/2016 10:36

Im due tomorrow! Have to wait to be induced on 9th sept if I go over due Sad

Been getting BH for weeks now and keep hoping they are going to turn into something more but they never do. Feel like I've been pregnant forever. Have tried all the usual things people recommend to get baby moving (hot curry, raw pineapple, long walk, sex etc) but nothing has worked so far. The heat is killing me and baby's movements are getting painful and keeps jabbing my bladder and I pissed myself the other day Blush

My sister text me this morning saying she thinks today is the day, fingers crossed, she's usually right about these things.

TheInimitableMrsFanshawe · 26/08/2016 10:58

Solidarity fist bumps all round.

I think baby moved last night so spine directly in line with my tummy button - that's great because DS took FOREVER in labour because his nose was at 3 o'clock. But I'm so, so uncomfortable now. DS is being a right little swine with me, he's in nursery 3 days but I've no idea how I'm going to do the other two days for the next couple of weeks.

He was also 12 days late by scan dates so no hope of an early delivery. EDD is 8th and I've got my money in 12th.

Dilligufdarling · 26/08/2016 10:59

Ah yes jen ignore me! I was talking about the free 1.5 days you get from the government - my DS is a may baby and we got about 9months less than the September children in his year... Of course if they're in full time nursery then that still leaves 3.5 days to find for the rest of the year!

Good luck if it is today far! Maybe this would become a live birth thread in that case!!! GrinGrinGrin

Hedgeh0g · 26/08/2016 11:48

I have hives now too. Late pregnancy really is shit isn't it?!

DrWhy · 26/08/2016 11:57

I'm also at 38+1 now but I'm up in Scotland and enjoying temperatures of about 18 degrees, which is making life much nicer. I've started mat leave this week and it's been generally lovely so in contrast I'm in no rush for the baby to arrive. The lack of sleep isn't great but this is my first so I'm expecting that to get worse rather than better!

TheInimitableMrsFanshawe · 26/08/2016 12:35

Dr I didn't get any more sleep when DS arrived, but that which I had was so much better quality.

39+1 here and feeling all your pain! Off for a hair cut shortly then if this baby could just get on with it, that would be great!

Womenareliketeabags · 26/08/2016 16:34

38+5 today. Stupidly fed up too, been having latent labour signs and symptoms since 36+6 and nothing gets anywhere.

Far I tried bumping down the stairs yesterday to induce labour and instead I pissed myself and hurt my arse/fanjo. No baby to even show for it.

Farfromtheusual · 26/08/2016 16:43

Thanks Dilligufdarling - no signs yet, will let you all know if anything happens!

I'm glad I'm not the only one Womenareliketeabags Grin and i'll make sure I don't try that then haha

Womenareliketeabags · 26/08/2016 16:45

The worse thing was my friend decided it would be hilarious to record it. The end of the video is just me screaming 'I'm weeing, I'm weeing'

Farfromtheusual · 26/08/2016 16:49

Haha aww no... I hope you made her delete the evidence!!

ohidoliketobe · 26/08/2016 16:49

38 weeks here too. I've been off work pretty much since start of July due to sickness and growth problems (both ok now), I was just starting to feel ready for the baby to come, when DS (2 yo) woke up yesterday morning with a lovely cluster of chicken pox. Fantastic.

Lou2711 · 26/08/2016 16:56

41 weeks today and I'm totally fed up. Thought it was beginning the other night and then it all wore off the next day and I've gone back to feeling normalEnvy
