38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

I'm feeling really tired this morning. Have a locely last day dill

My dh has food poisoning we think. He is still ill today but hoping he's on the mend...he didn't spend as much of the night in the toilet so maybe...Confused I just want him to be better so I can have the baby and him not spend the whole time in the loo! He's been ill since Sunday and I'm fed up doing everything!

Just had my second sweep. Midwife said my cervix was very soft and around 1-2cm dialated. She had a good old wiggle around Hmm said it was a lot easier to do than my first on tuesday. Heres hoping this o r starts me off. She also said that beby was now engaged and in a better position.

Hedgeh0g · 02/09/2016 13:41

Well, ds2 was born this morning just after midnight by emcs, after deciding he couldn't wait for the elcs date next Wednesday. First contraction in the car on the way home from pregnancy yoga yesterday evening - in hindsight maybe pregnancy yoga wasn't a good idea for someone trying to make the baby stay put until his scheduled date! Labour was VERY fast - the midwife seemed genuinely concerned they wouldn't get me into theatre in time, but all went well, and I'm hoping to go home tomorrow Smile

Hedgeh0g · 02/09/2016 13:42

Good luck all!

foxessocks · 02/09/2016 13:56

Congratulations hedgehog glad he has arrived safe and sound even if sooner than expected!

Good luck Jen my sweep is booked in for Thursday when I'll be one week overdue. I'm hoping I have the baby before then but have a feeling he's staying put for the time being. I suppose longer for my dh to get better but I am starting to want to get this done now! And meet my baby of course Smile

ohidoliketobe · 02/09/2016 14:11

Congratulations hedgeh0g! Enjoy newborn squishy cuddles

MillieMoodle · 02/09/2016 16:16

Congratulations back and hedgehog! Fab news that your little ones are here safely Smile

I saw midwife this morning and am booked in for a sweep on Thursday when I'll be 40+5. Hoping baby arrives before that, but no signs yet! Baby's head is about 2/5 engaged according to midwife. Fingers crossed for some news over the weekend!

Dilligufdarling · 02/09/2016 17:15

My gorgeous little boy was delivered by emcs at 1.40am this morning, weighing 6lb12, after his heart rate kept dropping as he decided he couldn't cope with contractions!

Congrats to everyone else who has also had their babies! And Good Luck to those of you who are still waiting!

I'm officially fed up! 3 days overdue now and I'm starting to feel bored despite having my toddler all day every day! Normally we get out of the house every day but with dh being ill and me being worn out looking after them both I haven't had the energy to get out as much. I didn't go anywhere yesterday and I don't have any plans this weekend so I'm feeling a bit fed up! Dh is on the mend and able to do a bit more but not able to go out and do anything really. I fancy a wander round the shops to choose my friends new baby a present but don't feel like going on my own really...

I don't know what I'm complaining about really I just feel like our usual routine has gone out the window and I do love my routine !! I realise with the new baby this is going to also be the case but I know I won't be bored then !

Argh ...not explaining very well am I ?

MillieMoodle · 03/09/2016 10:55

Flowers for you foxes. I'm with you with the fed-up-ness!

It's my due date today and by 9am I had already had a text from SIL and a call from DH's nan asking if any news. DH has also had a text from his mum. Bearing in mind DS was 12 days late and I was induced, I think it's going to be a long few days! I wouldn't mind but (a) I'm grumpy anyway, (b) I never hear from them the rest of the time and when I reply to their messages I don't get a further response and (c) if there was news, we would have let them know.

I think I should have stayed in bed today!

foxessocks · 03/09/2016 11:35

Oh millie I know how you feel! I'm getting lots of messages from people and have to say I've ignored most today so far! Don't much feel like communicating with anyone !

Dh and dd are playing on the Xbox now (seems to keep our 2.5 year old totally quiet for some reason!) I've just cleaned out my fridge and one kitchen cupboard and decided to have a sit down now. Just feel bored!!

Hope you don't have to wait so long this time...they do say second babies are usually a bit earlier?! (This is not true for me as dd was born one day late but hope it's true for you!)

Jenjen85 · 03/09/2016 12:11

Im so bored already. Thought things might have happened yesterday aftr5my sweep as had quite a lot of braxton hicks. Went to bed hoping id wake up in labour but no such luck. Wish i could go out for a walk today but its currently chucking it down so stuck indoors. DD is currently constipated so stressing about that. Wish baby would hurry up now. Just out of interest do you know what your having. Its blue for us this time and i get the impression boys are mostly overdue

MillieMoodle · 03/09/2016 12:23

Thanks foxes. I think this one will be at least a week late. No twinges at all today. Going to do the food shopping later so we have stuff in for next week, but so far have had a very lazy morning.

Jen we don't know what we're having. DS was 12 days late but I'm a girl (obvs!) and I was 17 days late Shock. My poor mum!

SockQueen · 03/09/2016 12:34

Congratulations far, back and hedgeh0g! Flowers

Cake for everyone still waiting. I'm trying to summon up enthusiasm to go to a BBQ with some of DH's friends this afternoon. Also need to go to Mothercare to pick up some click&collect stuff and whinge at them that the monitor they sold me has no instructions in the box!

foxessocks · 03/09/2016 12:48

We're having a boy and I'm 3 days late already and no sign of anything happening apart from lots of BH but I have has those for ages anyway so I doubt it means much!

With my dd I went into labour on my due date and she ended up being born the next day...I was hoping for the same this time!!

Jenjen85 · 03/09/2016 12:58

foxes i was the same with DD had her on due date so was hoping for DS to be early Hmm im hoping the rest of us dont have much longer to wait now

foxessocks · 03/09/2016 14:56

I've just read tonic water can start labour?? Admittedly it was on an old MN thread but a few people said it worked ...load of rubbish do we think? I'm just really fancying a gin and tonic right now but I guess that would be wrong....

Jenjen85 · 03/09/2016 15:21

Oooh foxes iv got some tonic water in Grin I did just say to DH that i might drink a bittle of wine tonight Grin see if i can get him moving. Iv had a nice gin and tonic set in the fridge since christmas that im dying to try

foxessocks · 03/09/2016 15:32

I haven't got any but I do need to go to the shop and I do have some gin ...maybe a teeny tiny bit and mostly tonic would be okay! I think wine seems better as at least it isn't a spirit!

Might be worth a try anyway?!

I'm just about to go to the bottle bank with dh and dd and I think I might try running in the park a bit...or up a hill? What's recommended?! Dh seems to be on the mend although he still isn't eating properly so maybe it would be best if the baby waits a few more days while he gets his strength up. I'm just bored and want something to start happening! Feel like I'm just sitting and waiting now, don't want to make loads of plans for next week as I don't suppose I'll feel like going far anyway. Humph.

MillieMoodle · 03/09/2016 19:32

I've got wine in the fridge ready for baby's arrival (for me, not the baby to just to be clear!) I found out I was pregnant the day after Boxing Day so haven't had a drink since then. Am definitely ready for a glass of wine!

Have done the food shopping this afternoon so at least we have food in the house now, and we don't have to do anything tomorrow really. Hoping the walk round the supermarket will get the baby moving!
