38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

Jenjen85 I was exactly the same with my daughter! She didn't arrive until the 25th September & I was praying from the 31st August at the latest! She is now 3 & is a sod (unlike my sons who were angels in comparison) and she won't start school until September 2018 when she is ready now & so am I!!!!

Safe to say I'm not coping very well with being over due. Stressed about being over due, can't sleep but shattered and stressed about going into labour exhausted...the list is endless. Also if one more person tells me to sleep whilst I can I WOULD IF I COULD!! Rant over sorry!

Having a few contractions at the minute. Have got into bed to see if they stop or carry on and get stronger.

At the moment they're quite frequent but not very strong... We'll see I guess!

Morning!
Nothing still happening here. Some strong BHs again last night and a bit of backache, but that's been it really.

Happy due date stumble!

Just some occasionally uncomfortable ramped up Braxton Hicks. Only difference the past two nights is I've been feeling them throughout the night. So hopefully a bit of cervix prep going on there! Got loads done yesterday and it's my due date today so come on baby!

Any action Dilli? Or anyone?

Dilligufdarling · 01/10/2016 19:37

Ah thanks stumble that's what I hoped. I've got my ideal world scenarios but am totally open to changes if needs be!

How have you been today? Any more contractions?

Dilli - where I worked not too many women tended to choose alternatives to recommended options to be fair. However, it's all about informed decisions/choices at the end of the day. What is frustrating is if someone appears to be rigid in their plan regardless of what circumstance might throw up.

Ah then we can both be tricky customers together!! GrinGrin

When you worked there as a midwife did you mind when people had preferences that were other than the standard? Did it happen very often?

Report
Stumbleine · 01/10/2016 10:55

Haha I know the feeling! My first birth was a section so I would automatically be treated as high risk. I have declined continuous monitoring and cannulation on admission. I used to work in the unit where I'm delivering as a midwife though, so the consultant knows not to mess with me! Wink

I'm exactly 1 week over today.
DS was 9 days late so am hoping that things will get going on their own in the next day or two and I'll avoid any sort of major "discussions".

I've already marked my card as difficult I think because I've asked them not to cannulate me on arrival at the hospital.
Due to the way the DS's birth went - totally freak set of circumstances led to large blood loss - they had me down as high risk and wanted to prep me for any eventuality as soon as I arrived.
It would really have limited the kind of birth I could have though - no water, limited movement etc. So I've declined. The chances of repeating what happened before are vanishingly small.
Fortunately my lovely consultant agreed. It turned out she was the attending resident at my son's birth and remembered it exactly.

I think this induction thing might be my second strike though... They'll definitely have me down as a crazed NCT-addled hippy now GrinGrinGrinGrin
Oh well.

Nothing happening this morning. I'm quite relieved I'll have to chance to do some sorting/cleaning today though. I think I need this weekend.

Dilli - what gestation are you now?Good on you for doing what you think is best re induction. It can be difficult going against what is seen as the norm. I'm not sure how I would proceed should I get to that point.

lol ironing in the wrong place????surely he should have just done it already?!

Stumble are you still having contractions?

Hi fresh! I've had spd too and feel your pain (literally!!).

I had a bunch of mild ones last night when watching tv. They were so regular that I started using my app , but they stopped when I moved so I guess were just braxtons Angry

I've got a scan on Monday to check placenta etc because I'm planning to not have an induction.... I get the impression that this is viewed as a bit out there by the medical people so I'm slightly expecting a battle and to have to justify myself... Which I don't want! Fortunately DH is able to come too as back up.
