38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

Good luck Crepe! I had my pre op assessment today, back tomorrow for bloods to be taken, and then in first thing Monday morning to have an ELCS! Still need to get my head around the newborn thing again...

Annarose2014 · 23/09/2016 01:21

Well I'm in the prenatal ward tonight. Waters went out of the blue at 10 and they told me to come in.

Pains aren't that bad though and was barely 2cm so they got me a bed for the night and DH was sent home. Lucky him - the woman across is snoring so violently that I'm not going to get a wink of sleep.

Seriously, she's worse than my Dad!

I'm a bit worried I'm going to be shattered for the birth tomorrow. Actually there are 3 other women in here and it sounds from their movements like they're all being kept awake by her.

But hey! Baby tomorrow! OMG!

Babney · 23/09/2016 03:46

39 weeks pregnant, awake as usual & sick of googling for signs of labour but can't stop it!

Dilligufdarling · 23/09/2016 05:19

Oh anna that sounds torturous! I hope she's quietened down now and that you've had some sleep! Or hope that things started progressing and you were able to be awake more productively!

Good luck later on crepe! Sorry for misunderstanding!

Welcome babney. Also awake here. I'm blaming it on a poor timed and overly long nap yesterday evening. Am 39+6 but haven't really got any signs of labour yet.-'fully expecting to go over though -DS was 9 days late, for some reason I've got next Tuesday in mind Grin so we'll see!

0hCrepe · 23/09/2016 05:43

I'm awake too since 4ish, quite a regular occurrence for no real reason, not making the most of a potential last good night's sleep!

Hope things progress well Anna!
Dilli it was the way I worded it- made no sense! Just hope I'm not waiting ages today to get popped!
I've had some BH but nothing exciting.
My DS (11) has a horrid cold he'll be gutted he won't be allowed in hospital to visit if I'm there a while. Think DD (10) might be getting it too. Great start!

Annarose2014 · 23/09/2016 06:35

She's still snoring! Angry

Contractions every 5 mins and pretty hard core but....no dilation whatsoever. Baby's head is still v high up. I just spent half an hour sitting in the hot shower with nozzle aimed at my bump which was nice, but I am starting to think they may want to get me on the drip in the morning.

Christ I'm tired!

0hCrepe · 23/09/2016 08:07

Oh that sounds harsh. Can you take something to have a snooze if things are going to take a while? Good luck.

Annarose2014 · 23/09/2016 08:32

Oh the place is like Grand Central station now so not a hope! Loud med students everywhere. But have had my porridge and toast so feel a bit more fortified.

Am once again very glad of my trusty old breastfeeding sports bra. Nice and comfy and preserves your modesty in your nightie.

0hCrepe · 23/09/2016 09:21

Ha ha! Dignity just goes once you set foot in there.
Sounds like the labour ward here is just as busy. I just phoned to find out when to go in and they're so busy and I'm quite low priority it most likely won't even be today!

Dilligufdarling · 23/09/2016 17:11

How are you guys getting on? Am hoping the quiet thread means lots of baby progress! Grin

0hCrepe · 23/09/2016 17:19

Not for me! Think I'll be waiting a while to get called in. Am having some tightenings though but really don't think they're significant.
How about you?

Dilligufdarling · 23/09/2016 17:39

Are you able to chill out at home then until they call you in? That sounds much nicer than waiting in hospital.
Nothing new here really. Have wondered a couple of times if I was feeling a bit more crampy than usual but nothing much else to go on.
It's my edd tomorrow so am fully expecting the texts and messages to start coming in!

Just off to do my hypno cd and nap now and then we're having a curry later on. Am quite excited!

0hCrepe · 23/09/2016 20:18

Yes I've got to ring at 9 o'clock again tomorrow but they're just really busy. I really think it could be days or she'll start of her own accord. She feels huge now, movements are starting to get painful!
You sound relaxed dilli which is nice. I've just had a good nap.

Dilligufdarling · 23/09/2016 21:15

Oooh yes ditto the painful movements!
Sometimes it feels like my little dude/ette is trying to punch it's way out through my ribs!

I am quite relaxed. I think now that I'm feeling like everything is pretty much done if just happy to wait and see. Especially as My hips and pelvis are still a bit rocky from last week's semi-fall.
If I can eke a few more days healing for them then that's all good!

You must be heading towards 41w now? Statistically Saturday and Sunday are the least common birth days of the week so hopefully they'll be quieter over the WE and get you in!

Dilligufdarling · 23/09/2016 21:16

I've just finished these today :) what do you think?

Anyone fancy a late pregnancy misery loves company thread?
0hCrepe · 23/09/2016 21:48

Oh wow how gorgeous!!! So clever, really love them!
Dd and I have made some very amateurish felt shoes for the baby I'll post a pic tomorrow. It's quite exciting because dd has not been too pleased about having a new sibling and she suggested it.
Yes I'm 41weeks tomorrow so hopefully your weekend theory holds!

Annarose2014 · 24/09/2016 08:32

DD was born at 10 last night, so 24 looooong hrs after waters broke. The actual birth wasn't too bad, 30 mins of pushing.

But it was the 24 hrs of contractions that were bad, and when I got to 4 cm and was brought to labour ward, I was given an epidural just cos I was almost unconscious with exhaustion at that stage. Sweet glorious epidural! So I was able to doze from 4cm to 10cm.

DD was a 9 pounder at 40+5 and has been asleep since a 5am feed. So so have I! I like her style already.....Grin

0hCrepe · 24/09/2016 08:37

Oh that's brilliant congratulations to you and your dd!

I'm about to have a bath before ringing labour ward probably to be told they're too busy. Getting a bit anxious about this baby getting too big- dd born 10 years ago was 8.15 and I tore a lot.

MillieMoodle · 24/09/2016 08:55

Congratulations Anna! Lovely news Grin

Annarose2014 · 24/09/2016 09:01

Best of luck for getting in today. I had an episiotomy but didn't feel it due to the epidural. So hopefully that'll heal ok.

0hCrepe · 24/09/2016 10:56

I had an episiotomy with ds and healed quicker than with dd so hopefully you'll be fine.

Still too busy for me on labour ward. Got to ring at 9pm tonight. Bit fed up but at least I can have a day with the kids today. Having some pains still- all good I guess.

Dilligufdarling · 24/09/2016 13:06

Oh anna that's such lovely news!
Huge congratulations to you Smile
I had an epis with DS as well - they often heal much better than tears and are a good excuse to sit still and snuggle for a couple of weeks!

Hope you have a lovely day crepe if you're having pains that got to be a good sign!

Out of interest what do the very early labour pains feel like? I can't really remember from DS - are the periody, nausea or more like round ligament?

0hCrepe · 24/09/2016 15:37

Mine are like period bad pains I think. Getting them regularly now, timing them and the app says go to hospital but they really don't feel strong enough even though they're frequent.

Dilligufdarling · 24/09/2016 16:54

crepe sounds like you might well get there on your own! Then busy or not they'll have to let you in! Fingers crossed!

Nothing period here at all. Just fanny daggers and bruised pelvis. Just back from taking DS swimming. Definitely nap time now!

SockQueen · 25/09/2016 00:21

Sorry for a bit of a delay. It took forever to get the induction started, but once the pessary was in I responded very quickly, to the extent they had to take it out after 5 hours! DS arrived at 1.41 yesterday, less than 12 hours after the Propess went in - he obviously just needed a little nudge in the right direction. And he was 10lb! I feel very lucky to have got away with only a 2nd degree tear.

We're still in hospital as neither of us has mastered feeding yet, but otherwise well. Hopefully home tomorrow.

Congratulations Anna! And Crepe I hope the lack of update means that things are moving along...
