38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

Morning everyone, I thought I round finally stop lurking and introduce myself. I'm 39wks today and I'm fed up and ready to meet baby. I've been having regular braxton hicks and that's about it. I had a midwife appointment this week and she didn't seem to think the baby is coming any time soon, sweep booked in for 40+5, so hoping baby arrives before!

lostindevon · 16/09/2016 09:47

Hello,
Im also 39 weeks today:
Absolutely completely and utterly had enough.
Sick of people asking me how long have I got and how am I feeling!
We live quite far away from family so my mum is here to stay to be here with the other 2 children when it all
Kicks off.
So I'm bored, tired, irritable and trying to entertain! Great!!!
My last two were both early, so I've never been this pregnant before!

lostindevon · 16/09/2016 10:09

Oh and I've ordered a huge food shop for delivery between 1-2pm today, I hate packing it away, so I was hoping labour would start by then and my mum could step in Grin!!!
It's drawing closer with no signs!

Dilligufdarling · 16/09/2016 11:04

God DAMNIT!!! Just skidded in a shop on the rain - my on shoes not their fault - and my pelvis feels split and BROKEN.

Am sill in the shop (with DH) and am not sure I can walk... BOLLOCKS!!!

Have been struggling a little with SPD for ages and tried so hard not to let this happen.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do????? It just hurts so much!!!

Hi lost and bobby nice to have you in the group Grin

0hCrepe · 16/09/2016 11:26

Oh no that's awful. If it's a big shop do they have a wheelchair? Glad you have your dh. Just take it very slowly. If the pain continues do you think you should get checked?

Dilligufdarling · 16/09/2016 12:16

Thanks crepe.
Am now in the car. DH brought it to the front and helped me in. The two steps outside were.... Interesting...

I've spoken to the maternity triage at my hospital and they've said that as long as the baby is moving (it is) and there's no bleeding (there isn't) then to rest and wait a day or two.

Am soooooo annoyed with myself though! I've been so careful to not over extend my hips and then effectively did the splits!

Bobbycatz · 16/09/2016 12:35

Oh my goodness dillig hope you and baby are ok, that sounds so painful. Make sure you rest up.

SockQueen · 16/09/2016 12:47

Ouch Dilli! Hope you're resting at home now.

Dilligufdarling · 16/09/2016 12:52

Yup am on the sofa with Netflix.
Hopefully it will loosen up soon!

MillieMoodle · 16/09/2016 13:20

Oh Dilli that sounds awful. Make sure you have lots of rest. Is there a chiropractor nearby that you could see? Mine was an absolute godsend for sorting out my spd when I was struggling to walk, I wouldn't have got through the last few weeks of pregnancy without her. It is well worth the money. Mine is a McTimoney one, they are very gentle but effective. Whereabouts in the country are you? Mine practices mostly in London I think. Hope you are feeling better soon Flowers

Dilligufdarling · 16/09/2016 15:47

Hi millie
Thank you :)
I've booked in to see a chiro local to me - I'm in Sussex.
He has an appointment free at 5:30 so will see what he can do.
I've also got an osteopath appointment booked for Monday just in case I'm still not mobile by then.

Jenjen85 · 16/09/2016 16:42

Oh dilli you poor thing i hope the pain eases off soon. Try and rest as much as you can but also keep mobile (if that makes sense) if you can try a bath too as that might help the pain

My SPD is still here Angry and quite sore at the front so might have to see a chiropractic myself. Iv somehow managed to get a sore back since having DS so hoping that clears up soon.

Goldenvalley · 16/09/2016 18:40

Hi all, just checking in. I'm only 38 weeks but getting impatient as I'm so uncomfortable and getting increasingly anxious about labour and being away from my Dd. My parents are hopefully coming over to look after her when it all kicks off but they can be a bit flakey and aren't filling me with confidence. I have visions of having to get a taxi on my own to the hospital and not having my DH with me at all at this rate!

MillieMoodle · 16/09/2016 19:13

Dilli how did the chiropractor go? Hope he managed to help. I always found the next day I felt so much better !

Jen my spd is still here too. I can't lie on either side, only on my back. I couldn't use the birthing pool in labour either as I couldn't get in or out as I couldn't lift my legs high enough. Seeing chiropractor on Wednesday so hoping she'll sort me out!

Dilligufdarling · 16/09/2016 19:43

millie it does seem a little freer but I'm not sure if that's my brain justifying spending £60 Confused
Am hoping that tomorrow here will be a big improvement. He didn't think I'd torn or ripped any muscles - more pulled and bruised which I figure is good.

gloden that sounds a bit stressful. Do you have any friends who could help in an emergency?

Goldenvalley · 16/09/2016 21:21

Dilli glad you're back's feeling a little better! I have no friends nearby (sounds sadder than it is- moved out of London last year so everyone's an hour away). It will probably be fine with my parents but I just wish they'd put my mind at rest by telling me it will be ok rather than saying 'we'll do our best'. I think I am being irrational when I read that back actually.

girlingloucs · 16/09/2016 23:51

I'm joining. 37 weeks and having a bad day. Now on enforced mat leave and can already feel my brain turning to mush. In no particular order I am sick of: back ache, rib ache, groin ache, constant weeing, being given advice, waking up every time I turn over, being too uncomfortable to actually go anywhere and 'enjoy time to myself while I can', sore boobs, being unable to concentrate on anything, fanny daggers, iron tablets, aspirin, worrying about the future, worrying about money, worrying about everything. I know there's others but like I said, can't concentrate.

Dilligufdarling · 17/09/2016 03:46

Hi girling!
Totally get where you're coming from with most of those! It's so frustrating!
The sleeping is the biggest one - wake up needing a wee/having turned over and then your brain decides to rehash every worry/anxiety it's ever had... Along with a few new ones!
AngryAngryAngry

golden that is very annoying. A "we'll try our best" is no use at all in this situation.

Annarose2014 · 17/09/2016 09:00

golden I have the same concern. One person helping when I'm in hospital, and she has no kids so whilst DS is very happy with her, they have a primarily"Disney" relationship. And he has a cold at the moment and is cranky as hell! And I'm due tomorrow!

I've printed out his getting up/going to bed routine and put them on the fridge but I'm bloody worried. But what else can we do???

I just need to get through this weekend, then he'll be in crèche most of the time and my mind will be more at ease.

Between his frequent wake ups cos of his cold and my SPD and just basic enormous bulk, I'm getting no sleep and feel completely zonked. Sitting here watching Elmo and don't even know what the little shit is singing about! Grin

popthisoneout · 17/09/2016 17:06

I'll join too. I'm 40+6 with DC2. No signs of any movement at all. I'm huge and still suffering from sickness and SPD but I did manage to see DS off to his first week of school, so I'm happy about that. I was worried I would miss it. Would like things to start moving now though!

spacepoodle · 17/09/2016 22:03

Just catching up with this!

DS was born on 12th September weighing 7lb 15oz. I am relieved to say he is very healthy and pink. He loves being swaddled and causing sleep deprivation.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

MillieMoodle · 17/09/2016 22:19

Congratulations space! Flowers

Dilligufdarling · 17/09/2016 22:46

Fab news space congratulations!!
Hi pop and welcome :)
I was glad to be able to go to DS's first day of school as well. Definitely not something to miss if possible.
Now though it's quite nice to be able to chill out for a few days before everything gets going with the next child!

I'm not quite so far along as you "only" 39 +1. DS was 9 days late as well so I'm not holding my breath. And secretly am kind of banking on a little more time.

My pelvis is much better today - I skidded in a shop yesterday and did the splits on an already SPD raddled pelvis - but it's got a way to go still. My top speed is about 0.2 miles an hour and I keep getting stuck on the floor or loo or hard chairs and DH has to rescue me.
I'm hoping if I can get to maybe Tuesday then it will have had time to recover.

Anyone else doing homeopathy for their births? And if so what are you using particularly? I've got clary sage, lavender, neroli and rose as my main ones. Would be interested in any other recommendations though - this is a very new departure for me!

SockQueen · 17/09/2016 23:01

Congratulations space! Hope you're getting on well.

Glad you're feeling better today Dilli. Just FWIW, what you're talking about is aromatherapy rather than homeopathy. I don't know a lot about it, though the oils you named are the common ones I've encountered, but my understanding is they recommend not using too many different ones so I expect your current selection will be enough!

Still nothing from me. Sweep tomorrow, keeping fingers desperately crossed that it will do something!

Dilligufdarling · 18/09/2016 07:58

lol sock you're quite right Grin I'll blame tiredness!

Good luck with your sweep later on
