38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

I think I was getting some BH yesterday evening but nothing going on now. Looks like induction for me tomorrow which I could have had days ago but opted to leave for a bit to try for a spontaneous labour and water birth. Ah well!

Dilligufdarling · 21/09/2016 10:06

How many days over are you crepe?

Probably tmi, but all of my symptoms this morning disappeared when I went to the loo... Blush oops!

Would be interested for the mw to have a feel of my cervix later though - see if there are any signs at all.

Good luck with a sweep later on anna

0hCrepe · 21/09/2016 10:26

I'm 40+4 but 40 years old and 10yrs since last birth (she was 11 days late) so classed as higher risk.
I have to admit I've have the cramps before a poo! I do think giving birth feels like pooing a melon so all good practice!!

Littleone2016 · 21/09/2016 13:20

Thanks Smile

Baby is still here, been 6days with contractions. I'm exhausted! My husband is going crazy seeing me in pain. Apparently I'm moaning and rubbing my back while still sleeping through some of the contractions.

When are these babies going to come?

I'm due to see the consultant tomorrow, do you think she would book me in for an induction??? I don't think I can continue like this.

Thanks

SockQueen · 21/09/2016 13:29

Littleone They'll probably give you a date for induction, but it will depend on what they find when they assess you - sounds like you're almost there anyway! Hope it doesn't go on much longer for you.

0hCrepe · 21/09/2016 13:31

Blimey that's harsh have you spoken to triage? How far along are you? Poor thing you must be so tired.

Littleone2016 · 21/09/2016 13:46

I'm 40 + 2 now.
When I speak to pregnancy assessment unit I just get the same response - it's normal. Your body hasn't done this before blah blah. Call us if things change - I bet they wouldn't be saying that if it was one of them going through the pain and sleepless nights.

Feel like taking my hospital bag into see the consultant and saying I'm not leaving without a baby in my arms Grin

0hCrepe · 21/09/2016 13:55

When I saw consultant last week she did an exam and sweep and booked the induction so hopefully yours will be the same. Take the bag in the car, you never know!

Annarose2014 · 21/09/2016 14:40

Failed sweep! Angry

Cervix too high and closed.

Motherfucking bad luck!

So induction booked for the 28th, when I'll be 10 days over. At least it'll be over by then!

MillieMoodle · 21/09/2016 15:58

Aw Anna have got everything crossed for you that even just the midwife rummaging around in there will start things off. It can happen! I went into labour at 9 days overdue, DS was born at 10 days over. Flowers

Littleone2016 · 21/09/2016 17:44

I hope so too Crepe
When is your induction tomorrow? Good luck for it!

Sorry Anna, fingers crossed it kicks off before then!

0hCrepe · 21/09/2016 18:09

Have to be there at 9. I envisage lots of waiting so we're getting a taxi.

Sorry to hear about sweep Anna, you've got 10 days to try to get things going!

SockQueen · 21/09/2016 21:44

I am going in tomorrow as well, 0hCrepe. I'll be 41+6. I've been told to ring at 8 to check there's a bed, and then they'll tell me what time to actually arrive - they sometimes need to wait for other patients to be discharged before they can get the new ones in! Trouble is that if you arrive any time after 8.30 there's never any space in the car park, so I'm wondering if taxi might be a better option now too?!

Good luck!

0hCrepe · 21/09/2016 21:57

Ooh good luck to you too! We'll have to compare notes.
Yes parking's a nightmare- no space, costs a fortune and you have to know in advance how long you're going to be and pay with the exact money. We don't live too far away so taxi should be easier hopefully.

Dilligufdarling · 21/09/2016 22:57

Really good luck you guys! Smile

Loads of braxtons and fanny daggers here. Mw said the baby has definitely started engaging - I'm at 3/5 apparently so I guess it could be soon Shock

Still haven't done everything on my list though... Need to crack on!

Does everyone else feel totally ready for the babies to arrive?

SockQueen · 21/09/2016 23:37

I think in terms of "stuff" I have everything I need, and the house is as ready as it's ever going to be (we're in the middle of a purchase so will be moving soon, so haven't decorated a nursery or anything). But ready to actually have a tiny human popping out of me and having to look after it forever? It gets more terrifying the more I think about it!

Dilligufdarling · 22/09/2016 05:19

sock that's it exactly!
I'm not worried about the birth really - it's the afterwards bit!
I guess at the moment everything's being taken care of for the baby without thinking or doing anything... And that's hard enough!
When it comes out... ShockShock

However on the upside WineWineWine will be much more acceptable!

MillieMoodle · 22/09/2016 07:28

Good luck all!

0hCrepe · 22/09/2016 09:49

I'm here and the waiting has commenced.

Goldenvalley · 22/09/2016 11:15

Good luck people!

0hCrepe · 22/09/2016 13:48

Well I'm back home! Midwife did an exam and managed to get me to 2 cm and do a sweep, enough to break my waters and skip the pessary part. So I've been put on the labour list to have that done tomorrow and need to ring at 9 to find out when to go in. Glad to be able to come home. Walked it!
How about you sockqueen? Have you been called in yet?

SockQueen · 22/09/2016 13:55

I'm sitting on the antenatal ward, waiting for them to come and assess me!

0hCrepe · 22/09/2016 13:57

Oh I do hope you don't have to wait much longer.

Dilligufdarling · 22/09/2016 16:48

Hope they've assessed you now sock?

So crepe did she actually do your waters? Or they're gong to tomorrow?

0hCrepe · 22/09/2016 17:36

I thought I wasn't very clear when I read that back! It's tomorrow. I've got to ring tomorrow morning to find out what time to go in and have them done. Or could possibly get called in earlier but I doubt it. Having a curry tonight. Glad to be home and will hopefully sleep well tonight unless things get cracking on their own but I'm not hopeful!
