Morning Babymad - sorry to hear your ms is back. Mine returned also at about 18wks but didn't last too long so hopefully will be same for you.
We would have been delighted with another ds and I truly expected this baby would be a boy but we are delighted that it's a girl - ds1 is desperate for a sister and I think the grandparents will be chuffed to have a little girl too (especially grandad!). Everyone seems to expect that we want a girl after two boys which can become a bit annoying when all we want is a healthy baby!! We are not telling anyone in RL that we already know the sex so it will be a nice surprise for family and friends.
I have midwife appointment this afternoon so looking forward to that - always nice to hear heartbeat.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo i LOVE all this baby talk!!!
pinkB (very confusing having 2 pink ladies on here!) fancy both your ds's weighing EXACTLY the same! and isnt it strange how the size of the mother seems to have no bearing on birth weight at all! my ds was only 6lb 5oz and 2 weeks overdue! he started life on the 2nd centile! my dd was bang on average 7lb 7oz! and then kept gaining and gaining and gaining and shot off the top of all the charts for height and weight and is now heavier than my ds and almost as tall! i am 5ft 11 and size 14 by the way, so everyone assumed i would have giant babies!

firststar - you always say such nice things to everyone, you really remind me of someone else on the ttc threads! (you know who dont you mrs!)

BabyMadwithBump · 21/02/2007 13:46

Every one thought I would have small babies me being at 5 foot 2 and size 10, but DS#1 was 8lb's 4oz's, and DS#2 was 8lbs 14ozs non of the newborn stuff we brought him fitted him! I dont know why but I'm thinking 9lb's 2oz for this LO!

conkertree · 21/02/2007 13:52

my dh was 10lbs+ when he was born so i hope it doesnt run in families. when i ask my nephew (2) what kind of baby i'm having (meaning boy or girl) he always says "a big baby" with a big grin on his face so hoping that he doesnt know something i dont.

my sister, sil and 2 friends who've given birth in the last couple of years have all had very difficult labours - going on for over 36 hours, 1 emergency csection, forceps etc etc so everyone keeps saying to me how worried i must be about giving birth.

I keep thinking that statistically someone i know must have an easier time of it, so hopefully that will be me - and there's no point worrying about it for the next 5 month anyway.

KitKat30 · 21/02/2007 14:14

Hello everyone

Can I come on and have a moan? Having a really bad day today - can't seem to snap out of this grumpish mood. Feeling so tired and queasy all the time and I'm SOOOOOO sick of feeling like this! I can't remember what it's like to feel well and enjoy a meal...I havent been out in weeks and end up going to bed at 8pm every night because I feel so rotten. Feels like this phase will never end...

As you can tell am feeling very, very sorry for myself. Can someone give me a kick up the backside, followed by a hug please?

DS#1 I went to hospital at 10.30am he was born the same day at 2.13pm! DS#2 I went to the hospital at 11pm in was born at 2.25am! Both quick and I only had G&A and peth, everyone is differant, you'll be okay!

BabyMadwithBump · 21/02/2007 14:17

I'm feeling sick again too not nice cant wait to have my body back, up the butt]]] now sending ((((big hug)))) ! Is that better?

greedyforbabies · 21/02/2007 14:18

conker 0- dont worry about the birth. i think lots of people tend to make it sound a lot worse than it is. the whole length of labour seems really impoortant to some people but everyone counts if starting from a different point and i really dont think a long labour is always an especially bad thing.
if i counted from my first painful contraction then i was in labour for about 36hours with ds, but i couldnt really have asked for a smoother more straight forward labour. i am sure i could make it sound horrific if i wanted too ( i did nearly give birth on the side of a dual carriageway!) but thats my point really.............once you have been through it, i think most people over dramatize the whole thing! it does bloody hurt though dont get me wrong, but it does go according to plan for some people!

wow! .............actually............i shouldn't really start talking about labour cos i have FAR too many opinions and views on the subject!!!....i will stop now!!

i reckon this one will be 7lb 4oz for me!!

greedyforbabies · 21/02/2007 14:20

hey twix - dont like hearing you feeling down.............have a good old mope around today and feel as sorry for yourself as you like, but decide that tomorrow WILL be better and you will be full of the joys of spring then!
it wont last much longer, you know it wont! you will be blooming before you know it!

PinkButterfly · 21/02/2007 14:22

Hey KitKat - no kick but I will send a big ((((hug)))). xxx

KitKat30 · 21/02/2007 14:23

I think when pg you convince yourself that you shouldn't moan or feel sorry for yourself during ms etc because it's all for a worthwhile cause but when you feel crap you feel crap and should be able to moan about it whenever you need. It's hard work growing an icle one!

PinkButterfly · 21/02/2007 14:48

no worries firststar, I got what you meant.

Argh! Just typed a long message and lost it! Argh

I know what you mean - I'm so happy/grateful to be pg (esp with friends TTC with little success so far), but when you feel so awful it's hard to be positive. This will be my first so I've yet to experience the loveliness of babies, so at the moment it feels like a lot of grief for not a lot in return. It will be different in a few months time I know!

I don't know what I'd do without my lovely MN ladies, thank you x I think a big bar of chocolate on my way home is a must! Have to live up to my name somehow!!

x

PS. How odd is the whole Britney thing?!?

Hello ladies ? well after telling you all I couldn?t possibly be off sick I decided to stay at home today. I had a migraine all night and hardly slept and feel so much better now. Things are kicking off a bit at work as my boss is likely to get marched out of the building any day now and everyone is on edge, not me really as my number one concern is this baby and I don?t really care as long as I have a job but my assistants are upset and I don?t know how to comfort them anyway, I?m at home and don?t feel bad about it!!

Have any of you given up anything for Lent? I?ve given up biscuits and cakes which is a bit of a nightmare as that is all I seem to have in the house.

Sorry about my outburst last night, the migraine was on its way and the thud of the football wasn?t helping, luckily they stopped before I displayed my hormonal temper to them! Phew, a lot to catch up on today!

Bodkin ? thank you for reassuring me about my symptoms do you have a gut feeling about what flavour your beanie will be? I keep thinking girl for ours, don?t know why, we?ll be so delighted just to have a healthy baby. I got myself all tearful earlier thinking about what our baby?s little face will be like, wondering if it will have DH?s lovely almond shaped eyes and long eyelashes ? it?s just so exciting to be having a baby with the most wonderful man I have ever met, I just can?t believe my luck .

Honeyapple ? I was too tired to make DH pancakes in the end (anyone watch The OC, loved Pancakes as a name for that rabbit!!) At least your DD spared you some. It is amazing your story about being a pregnant backpacker!! PMSL at the vision of actually conceiving whilst picking apples. Your DD isn?t called Apple is she? sorry! I?m finding it hard to keep the secret too. I don?t want to lie to people either and I got myself into a really tricky situation with a friend going through IVF at the weekend, I didn?t mean to mislead her but I just feel it is too early to tell. Tell your MIL to mind her own business, can?t believe she keeps asking you! I have a wedding on Sat. I?ve just tried on my outfit and luckily it still fits but if I?m honest, there is a small bulge developing too low to be tummy wonder if I?ll get caught out!! I?ve already put some packets of raisins in my evening bag to keep me going if it?s one of those weddings where you wait ages to be fed!

Hey Firststar ? It?s funny getting to a Friday night and knowing that you can?t (well, shouldn?t) have a drink isn?t it? Think I was a pretty dependent drinker I?ve become an appletise tart, can?t get enough of the stuff at the moment. If you want to sell that Doppler when you are done with it, I?m your lady!!

Pinkbutterly ? you are tiny and what big babies you?ve had. As you say, at least with a CS you can plan around it, I don?t imagine you?d want to go through all that again, and you are having girl!! I am so excited for you. Hope the MW appointment went well. Are you going to share you name choices with us?

Hello Babymad ? hope you got my email, I listened to your baby?s heart beat and it was incredible!! I got goose bumps all over and I welled up too. It was so clear and strong!! Sorry to hear the sickness is back, I hope you are keeping enough nutritious stuff down hon. Water is never good for me when I feel sick or hungover ? actually I think being pregnant does feel a bit like being hungover at the moment! Maybe time speeds up as you get nearer your EDD, the weeks are going by so slowly for me at the moment, that said, on Friday it?ll be 4 weeks since I got my BFP! That?s lovely that your DH likes your bump.

Hello Greedy ? how are you? Chilling out more now that you?ve seen your baby again? I like hearing your matter of fact approach to labour, please don?t stop, when I?ve been petrified into thinking I?ll be ripped from one side to the other and totally incontinent in every possible way, you are the voice of reason!

Let?s have a poll ? what are the bare essentials that you need to buy for a baby if you are starting from scratch? And what are the really nice to haves that you wouldn?t be without?

Hey Conkertree ? one of my friends? DH was 13 pounds and his bro was 12, they kept that from my friend until after her baby was born, he was a more usual 8 pounder though! How mean that people are making you worry about the birth. I?ve heard horror stories but I have also got friends who had first babies in just a few hours and with no intervention at all, those are the stories I like! There have been some really scary ones on the October thread ? I wanted to change my mind about having a baby a few times but Greedy rescued me!

Hey Kitkat ? don?t think a kick up the backside would be a good idea ? what about a virtual cup of tea and some chocolate hobnobs instead and a hug?! Sorry to hear you are feeling down, it?s just the hormones hon, not the real you. Think of all the money you are saving and the weight you are not putting on and think about that gorgeous baby boy you?ll soon be cuddling and pregnancy might not be an illness but it must certainly feel like it when you are being sick so moan to us all you like and we?ll repay you in kind no doubt at some stage!

Sorry - far too much to say as usual!

PinkButterfly · 21/02/2007 16:48

Hey Mrs! Sorry to hear you had migrane but good that you took time off and put yourself and your baby first today!

Midwife appointment went just fine - everything as it should be.

We have actually chosen a name already for our baby girl - funny though I feel a bit odd about sharing it.....!!??

It's not a common name, not in the top 100 and I don't know of any others so think I'll keep it to myself for now if that's ok - not that I really mind any of you gals knowing it but it does feel a bit precious!

MrsMcJnr · 21/02/2007 16:58

Glad it went well today PinkButterfly and I totally understand about the names - we're not going to share our names with anyone in RL either - just hope the 5 pregnant friends ahead of me don't use any of them!

You're right Firststar - 2 more sleeps sleeping is my favourite pass time at the mo.

Just in case Chooster can't get on here and you are worried abiut her, things were fine at her scan today (sorry Chooster, hope you don't mind me reporting that!).
