Hi all!!!

Pinkranger - Am very glad you decided to go for the NHS scan - Anything that provides that extra bit of re-assurance and helps your nerves about the baby will be worth it. Hope its gone well today.

Firststar - Sorry to hear about the problems you are having at the moment. I really hope your back doesn't get any worse and fingers crossed for the heart echo. Will your heart condition affect the type of labour you can have? Sorry thats probably a dumb question, but just wondering if there is an impact.

Babymad - Ahhh, its lovely to have children who look so different! My friend is the same - blue eyed blonde pale DS and a olive skinned brown eyed DD. Both VERY cute!!

Hi MrsMc - Glad you had a good weekend! You definately need to be in charge of telling people you are pregnant from now on!! My DH is definately in charge of telling people in our relationship as I just dont seem to be able to do it. I kind of stutter and try to hint enough that people can guess. For some reason I struggled with the simple expression of "I'm pregnant". In fact with all my pregnancies I've even had to be in a different room while he told his parents! (Different building last time ).

I've had my 2007 objective setting meeting with my manager today and I was all geared up to tell him... But I kept chickening out, and then we got kicked out of the meeting room so I still haven't told work. Which is comical really if you could see how big and obviously pregnant I am... . I may have to get my DH to call my boss and tell him for me

Apart from that things are going really well for me! No MS (sorry to those who still have it) and the odd little baby movement.

By the way, Greedy, I love the photo you have on your profile!!

Went to scan and everything is GOOD
She cheked everything and said it was all as it should be and put me at 12+5 so yea!!!!!!

Its really happening now !!!

greedyforbabies · 12/02/2007 18:12

ok ladies - put my mind at rest please. did some of you get period type pains in early pg? i have had a bit more spotting (it had stopped for the past 2 days) and period pains. i have one of those pregnancy cysts though and i have read that that could cause the pain. ..........tell me its all ok ...........and i am being a drama queen again!

J20BABY · 12/02/2007 18:29

hiya greedy, i'm getting period like pain too so i think its pretty normal x

pinkranger · 12/02/2007 19:52

Greedy - Do not worry, i had period pain well up and into weeks 10 and 11, was really bad around 7-8 and they died down then came back at 10. I was also really worried but its normal xx

Bodkin · 12/02/2007 20:38

Greedy, I still get occasional period like pains for up to an hour at a time - think tis ligaments stretching - it could well be what you are feeling. Don't for a minute think you are being a drama queen! You have not had an easy start to this pregnancy so naturally you are going to be concerned about pains and spotting. How far along are you now? Could you ask for another scan to see if you can see a HB yet?

Great news on the scan pinkranger!

Chooster - come on woman - do it!!!! I just blurted it out to my boss at the most inopportune moment. I think i phrased it as "I'm expecting" - somehow seemed less graphic than "I'm pregnant"

Hi Detention Grrl - congrats and welcome!

Didn't update myself on that last stats list. It's all over the place now as that was about a week ago. Never mind, good to see where everyone's at.

kitkat - EDD 30/08/07 (11 weeks)
Pinkranger - Edd 25/08/07 ( 11+ 6 )Firststar - EDD 24/07/07 (16+3)
Babymad due date 03/08/07 15 weeks today!
Conkertree - EDD 01/08/07 (15 + 2)
Chooster - EDD 22/07/07 (16+5)
Bodkin - EDD 15/07/07 (18 + 1)

greedyforbabies · 12/02/2007 20:45

thanks all! ..you really are great! i feel so much better! you would think i would know this sort of thing as its my third pregnancy but i never worried much with the other two (not sure why! i was just much more chilled out!) so i didn't notice the aches and pains!
i am 6+5 today! i have another scan booked for next monday so should def get to see the HB if there is one to see!

chooster - how many weeks are you? and you havent told work! how funny! i always thought i would like to see how long i could get away with it for without telling anyone but i just cant keep my big mouth shut! i think its funny! dont tell them till the it pops out!!!

fettle · 12/02/2007 20:59

Evening all - sorry I've not been around much. don't laugh, but turning on Mumsnet seems to make my nausea worse!! Don't want to develop an aversion to MN for my pregnancy - I completely went off chicken with DD, but that was avoidable, but not chatting to you guys!! Terrible - I'll suffer in silence for you!!

Anyway, Greedy - I'm still getting pretty bad period pains from time to time - I'm taking comfort (if you can) in the constant nausea I have, but it is still pretty disconcerting. I assume both of us are much more aware of any niggle due to our worries, but as the other girls have said it is probably quite normal.

This pg I just feel a bit under the weather - I think I remember feeling great when pg with DD, but this time I just feel tired, cold, sick and blurgh - I hope that is normal.

Can't work out whether DD was a good or bad pg/baby. I had bad all day sickness with her, very severe SPD and serious obstetric cholestasis during my pg, so it certainly wasn't smooth, then I thought she was great as a baby, but with hindsight, she never slept (still doesn't - no more than 4 hours at a time at the moment, she better get better before this little one comes along!!). Sign of intelligence, my Mum says - I say sign of exhaustion!!

MrsMc - I remember my and DH's first few trips to mothercare when pg with DD - we were so intimidated it took us 6 trips before we were actually brave enough to buy anything! Pathetic, I know! But how were we supposed to know which of what to get - why are there so many different types of pram/buggy/pushchair etc! [DH wants a new one for this little one, but I can't justify the money - you'll have to explain to me the benefits of more than one, Babymad!]

Chooster, how have you managed to keep it a secret this long? I have to hope I don't meet anyone in the loo at work as the smell of the soap in there sets off a wretching fit!! Not a pretty sight!!

Great news on all the scans - glad to hear that everyone is doing ok. But I think i've managed to write quite a lot - I don't actually feel that sick at the moment - help!! Bring back the nausea!

take care all
x

fettle · 12/02/2007 21:00

Sorry - spent so long writing my essay that I crossed with you!!

Hope you are feeling ok? Not long til the scan now - that 1st week didn't take too long did it?

x

KitKat30 · 13/02/2007 08:46

Hi guys!

Fettle I know exactly what you mean - just the blue writing of the thread titles brings on a wave of nausea!! You're not strange at all - well, you might be, but then so am I! I think that's why I'm not posting as much as I should - I'm sub-consciously avoiding MN! Noooo!

Greedy - I too had lots of period type pains early on, nothing to worry about I'm sure. When's your next scan?

Chooster - have you told work yet?!? I think I'm going to be brave and tell everyone today - I just cant keep it in any longer!! Come on - lets make today the day we tell everyone!!!

Pinkr - great news about the scan, so pleased everything is on track! I have mine later this week - excited and nervous!! Hope it all goes OK.

Hello everyone I haven't mentioned - hope you're all OK??

I'm doing OK - morning sickness still bad in the eves, but I've booked myself an acupuncture session so am hoping that will help. Bloody better as it's costing me £40!! Will let you know how I get on.

Sorry - stupid question:

Is the 12 week scan an internal or external scan? My 8 week was internal but am hoping the 12 week will be an external one...

Recent 12wk scan people - what was your experience???

OP posts:
pinkranger · 13/02/2007 09:00

hi kit - good luck with your acupunture - hope it does work

With the scan it was external, did worry as my 12 week scan with my ds was so much hard work and they couldnt get a good view of him that i had to an internal then! But ok thi time, if you bladder is full it is easier so try not to wee!

easier said then doen when they keep you waiting 30 min after your appoointment time - they nearly had a floor to mop

KitKat30 · 13/02/2007 09:08

Thanks hon. The letter did say not to worry about having a full bladder though... oh dear, wonder if it's going to be an internal one!?!

OP posts:
BabyMadwithBump · 13/02/2007 09:11

I had a 10 week dating scan, that was a external scan and they dated me at 11+3 after! HTH!

Morning Ladies hope all is fine and well with you all, off to te MW in a mo, really hoping to hear the HB, cant wait I'm 15+4. DH tuck the day off work too and MIL has got my boys for the day. Not see my MW since my booking app not looking forward to more blood tests but hay they've got to be done! Back later!

Babymadxx

pinkranger · 13/02/2007 09:12

should be fine! MIne was not a problem and i have something called intervereted (sp) uterus which apparently is difficult to scan ?? all was good xx What day and time is it???

pinkranger · 13/02/2007 09:13

Good Luck babymad - hope you get to hear LO HB xx

KitKat30 · 13/02/2007 09:15

Scan is on Thurs! Will post and let you know how I get on. Keep everything crossed for me!

OP posts:
greedyforbabies · 13/02/2007 09:16

twix - all my scans past 6 wks have always been external. did they tell you to fill your bladder? if they did then it should be external. my one next week which is only at 7+4wks is supposed to be external.

FETTLE - i did think you had been quiet the past few days. i was thinking about it last night in bed! (the things i think about now to make myself fall asleep! - its cos i no longer have alcohol induced sleep and it takes me ages to nod off now!) glad all is ok with you. you are right time is flying by already! you are over 7 weeks now aren't you? thats nearly 1/5th of the way! that seems incredible!

also - i was reading last night that by 6 wks your blood volume has already increased by 50%! that is amazing! that means if you normally have about 8 or 9 pints (if you are a big girl like me!) then you will now have 12 pints! i was trying to make myself feel better, cos that 4 extra pints must weigh at least 5 lbs! and i reckon my boobs must have gained 1 lb each too! so that accounts for the weight i have put on already! im not really lardy at all!

go on chooster chops! tell them today with twix!

BabyMadwithBump · 13/02/2007 09:22

I had an almost epmty bladder and mine was so clear!?
