Hi all

finally made it to work! Planning on leaving early as I don't fancy driving in the freezing fog, incase the molten snow starts freezing as well.

Well, external scan saw sack and little blob inside and internal scan saw the flickering heart beat!!! Cried I was so happy. Measurements put me at 6+3 weeks, which is exactly what my temp rise predicted me at - I find that amazing that your temp rise can have such a specific impact! anyway, DH was just amazed that the lady could date it just from the size and the fact that a 6mm blob has room for a beating heart - it is amazing this baby making process isn't it. Even DD seemed quite fascinated with the beating blob - although it might also been at what the lady was doing to Mummy!!

Well, must go and get on with some work - got my dating scan for 6 weeks tom, so hopefully all will be well before then. i've got the direct line to the EPU though, in case I have anymore bleeding in the meantime. So past 1st mc date, now just have to get to 9 weeks, when I had my first mc. 1 year tomorrow, was the day I first mc, so I hope this positive scan today is a good omen!!

take care all

sorry for being me, me, me - I'll try and catch up properly this evening!!

ps DH very excited that we got a new fettle growing!!

Chooster · 08/02/2007 13:02

Hi everyone - Just on 'Fettle watch'

I am another 'huge' one I'm afraid. Look so much bigger than 16 wks I dont mind really I other than still trying to hide it at work.

Good profile Bodders (love the rambling conversation you had with yourself earlier - it did make me smile!) - Will you be brave enough (or clever enough) to put piccies on. I probably would but I dont even know where to start. Good job I dont work in IT (Oh, bugger I do work in IT... Must change profession quick).

Hope you've got a play day now Greedy!!! No real snow in Edinburgh apart from the odd smattering - nothing you could use for snowman building purposes.

MrsMc - Hope you get your pack tonight so you can get the ball rolling!!

Its wierd, I'm taking DS to a 3rd birthday party tomorrow and its the first time I've done this where I know none of the people there. The party is for a little pal of his in nusery (how cute eh?) who I've never even met... It just feels kind of odd. Guess there'll be plenty more though

pinkranger · 08/02/2007 13:08

Fettle - SOOOO please , at least that 1 milestone ouyt the way with xx

Chooster · 08/02/2007 13:08

Damn, I popped on for Fettle news and I almost missed it as I was rambling on.

Thats great news -

Everything looks like it is well on track, I am so so so pleased for you. Hopefully you are lot more relaxed now and you can try to enjoy the next few weeks a little more.

Good luck with your journey home

Bodkin · 08/02/2007 13:23

Fantastic News Fettle!!!! I know you probalby won't be able to stop worrying until your dating scan, but this should definitely give you something to hang on to until then.

Chooster - glad my mad woman moment made you laugh! I was just guffawing at your "must change jobs" commment! Good luck at the scary 3 yo party! Do what I did at the last b'day party we went to (although I did know some people there) - sit at the food table and eat like a horse. Something about those little triangular egg sandwiches just spoke to me....

God I am being such a lazy arse at work today, it is comedy. Have spent the entire time (bar 1 hour when I typed some letters) on mumsnet....ooops....

Fettle - I am SO pleased for you how exciting to hear the heart beat too - bonus!! Hope this can give you some reassurance until the next scan. I want to see my beanie too!

Chooster - enjoy the party hope they are nice to you!

MrsMc - those hormones are really kicking in now aren't they - 2 's in 2 days?!

So far, I have bought a sports bra from Peacocks (alright alright, I live in a small town ok, that's all we've got....) in a larger size which is doing stirling work - and only a fiver, so I can just keep buying a larger size as and when I need it. It is actually more comfortable (and more flattering) than the mothercare maternity bra I am also wearing from last pg, which makes me look like I have udders.

I have to go home now, I have run out of non-existant work to do. , i've had such a lovely day....

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 15:37

Think you're right Bodkin never normally so argumentative but I'm not used to such unhelpful people either!

greedyforbabies · 08/02/2007 17:10

fettle! i am soooooooooooooooo pleased for you! it made me cry reading your post, it was lovely! i am soooooooooo pleased...............hang on ......did i just say that? anyway..............i am soooooooooooooo pleased for you!

had a lovely day too once i got home from work.........only one patient turned up! huh! been making snowmen and sledging! i suppose you aren't supposed to go zooming down hills on sledges when pg are you? it was fun and dd loved it! ds is a complete wimp though and just wanted to pull the sledge not go on it!

mrs - i dont want you to be disillusioned cos i noticed you wrote about hearing th heartbeat. you wont HEAR it at your scan, but you should see it beating away at 100+ bpm!

i am now going to attempt to do something very sad! if you look at my pictures on my profile you will see if i managed it or not!

greedyforbabies · 08/02/2007 17:33

its no good i am too dense! i cant figure out how to put my photo onto my profile. how do i do it babymad?

fettle · 08/02/2007 20:01

Hello all!

Thanks for your support again! Still can't really believe it, but hopefully it will sink in soon!

MrsMc, when I pg before Christmas, I became a woman possessed - poor DH just had to breathe for me to go into an amazing temper - very frightening. I'm sure its just our bodies getting used to the hormones rushing around! Good on you looking for maternity bras though - I'm wearing the one from last pg that wasn't completely destroyed or died grey!! Have to say i've been wearing unsuitable bras for the last few days, as the pain I have when I take them off has been reassuring Better stop though, don't want to damage any boob tissue and have them hanging by my knees!!

Pinkelephant - hello - glad you've made it to 12 weeks - hope you are feeling ok. I can't wait to get there - only 6 weeks to go - which feels a lifetime. Can't believe its only been 6 weeks since Christmas!

Greedy - you sound like you're hanging in there? Not really that long til your scan is it? A week on Monday? your afternoon sounds fun! There was hardly anyone in work today, so kind of wish I hadn't made the effort! DD's nursery was completely full though, so obviously some people were working!

Chooster - I found my first 3 year party pretty scary - hadn't realised quite how competitive parents can be when at children's parties. Lots of "sit down NOW!!!" shouts during musical bumps etc! Needless to say, my little DD wasn't great, but i'm sure she'll get better!!

Bodkin - I'm sure we all have little chats with ourselves from time to time!! I too find myself on here a bit too much at work - bit scary actually - trying to cut down, but then I don't really have much time in the evenings to catch up with you all either.

Firststar - how you doing? You've had your back checked haven't you? I had stabbing pains in my pubis bone from about 16 weeks - turned out it was SPD, which got progessively worse. Got to the stage I couldn't turn over in bed at night, without waking up and getting in and out of cars was interesting!! Do so hope it is not what you've got, as I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy. Once i've got to 14 weeks, I think have to hope I don't get it again, or obstetric cholestasis, but let's concentrate on getting past 9 weeks for now!

Hope everyone else is doing ok? Kitkat, babymad, Pinkbutterfly, sideways, anyone I've missed but haven't meant to?

fettle · 08/02/2007 20:01

Ps Greedy intriguied what you were going to post on your profile now!!

Bodkin · 08/02/2007 20:13

Yeah Greedy, get them pics up quick! Jealous of your fun in the snow

I know this might be a bit soon for some of you, but DP and I just found this and have been sniggering at it for the last half hour. There's one for the girl's as well...

KitKat30 · 09/02/2007 09:08

Hi guys

Sorry I havent posted for a few days - been manic at work!! Nothing much to report from me - midwife appt next week, plus nuchal scan too. Very excited but also nervous as the voice of doom and gloom has reared its ugly head! Convinced myself that everything will have gone wrong and that there wont be a heartbeat etc. It's ever since I read Abwab's thread - I just can't shake off this bad feeling. Really hope everything is OK. I wonder if they sell ultrasound machines on ebay?!!! Would be handy for all those worried moments dont you think!!?

Has anyone tried acupuncture for morning sickness? I'm seriously contemplating it...

Fettle - such great news about your scan - it's an amazing feeling when you see the little heart beating. I always think you should get a photo of yours and DH's faces as well as scan photo - it would be such a lovely picture!!

Bodkin - I'm with you on the extra phlegm!! It's vile isnt it?? Me first thing in the morning is not a pretty sight... apparently it's not going to go away until birth. My book said: "it will probably worse before it gets better once you give birth". Lovely.

MrsMcJ - maternity bras - I seem to remember you saying (many moons ago) that you - like me - were rather well endowed!! Have you tried Bravissimo? They have such a good range, inc maternity bras. I've gone up a cup size, but havent resorted to non-underwired yet

Greedy - sorry you missed the snow hon! Evil clients...

Pink, firststar, Chooster and anyone else I've missed - HELLO! Hope you're all OK this morning.

Do we need an updated roll call? I'll start...

kitkat - EDD 30/08/07 (11 weeks) - nuchal scan next week

good idea KitKat

kitkat - EDD 30/08/07 (11 weeks) - nuchal scan next week
Pinkranger - Edd 25/08/07 ( 11+ 6 ) - Nuchal scan 2 weeks

KitKat30 · 09/02/2007 09:36

Hi pink - looking at your dates, I've really confused myself!

Can anyone help?!

My last period was 22nd Nov 06 and my cycle was 29 days. Now according to most websites (BBC etc), 8th Feb is the start of my 12th week of pg. BUT...bloody babycentre.com is saying this is the start of my 11th week?!?

I'm really confused - can anyone help?!

OP posts:
pinkranger · 09/02/2007 09:40

i have no idea, my first Edd date from LMP was 23/08 but i am going on what my scan said,
( i have had 3 scans and they have all dated me different!) ( i have a 33 day cycle and KNOW that i concived very late in my cycle as we were using OPK) - use what it is from you last period a and then wait for your scan XX

BabyMadwithBump · 09/02/2007 09:48

KitKat30 don't worry about it just see what your scan say next week, as I was worked out my due to been 09/08/07 (28day cycle and last AF 2/nov/06) but my scan put me at 03/08/07 which mean I conceived a week before my AF and I didn't BD at that time but BDed 3 weeks later, so, really don't worry just wait to see the out come of what the scan say's!

Been really down about not having that PG feeling but last night I was sick 3 times and felt sick all evening plus this morning when I was lying down I felt this hard lump and then it moved I very much believe it was the head and then felt it somewhere else 30 mins later, I have a big smile on my face cant wait for my MW app next week!

Babymad due date 03/08/07 15 weeks today!
