Mmmm, thats interesting about the vitamins. I've never really had a problem before but the first time I was ill I hadn't eaten anything since the night before (very stupid) ot like last night, I took the tablet about 2 hours after dinner. I'll try taking it with my dinner from now on... Thanks ladies!!

Here to have a rant as then I can calm down bl*y GPs practice!! Called again today, was put on hold for 10 mins and overheard whole conversation that receptionist had with another patient about their results . She then said, oh yes, the result was in yesterday, it's positive. So then I asked to make an appointment with the MW as GP had told me to. Was told to call a different number for Community Health. Got through to them, was told you have to fill in a booking form first. When I asked where I could get one, I was told the GP's practice. Called them again was told that no DH couldn't pick up a pack tonight as they'd run out. Didn't know when new packs would be available. Called CH section again and requested to speak to MW about getting into the system, was told I couldn't leave a message for her because the receptionist was leaving a message about the packs on her answerphone and when I asked for the direct dial I was told I'd have to just call back another day. FURIOUS! Am I overreacting or is this ridiculous?! Thanks for listening

BabyMadwithBump · 07/02/2007 18:41

MrsMcJur So sorry that your being messed around so much but I bet having a +ive has put a spring in your step!?
I dont know why I dont feel PG any more, do you think it migt be down to the triedness going and MS gone, also I feel that fundel height hasn't grown in a weeks, so down and getting more and more upset, GOD please make the MW app next week come round fast and pray they pick up a heart beat!
As for vits not been taking any for 6+ weeks, due to, no point they had a retrun ticket!

fettle · 07/02/2007 19:54

Hi All

Don't have long at moment, but wanted to say to MrsMc, that that is ridiculous!! In all 3 of my pg, that I've officially spoken to GP about, I've been automatically booked in with a MW at that initial appointment by my GP. The MW then contacts me at a later date, with a booking in appointment. Still waiting for this pg appointment, but my free NHS prescription card turned up today!! Very quick this time around!! so hope all it ok at the scan in the morning - not feeling that confident at the mo.

How likely is it if I don't see a heartbeat tom (at 6 + 3 weeks) that all is still ok? Not sure when they definitely are able to see a heart beat - thank goodness DH has been told he can take tomorrow morning off, in fact he has been told he can have the whole day off if necessary, which is good. hopefully the snow won't cancel the appointment - assuming the radiographer lives near the hospital!!!

Must go, DH needs feeding!!

back later
x

greedyforbabies · 07/02/2007 20:07

i saw a heart beat at 6+4wks with ds fettle, so HOPEFULLY you should be ok. if you dont see one though it is prob just too early still cos its borderline whether they will see one or not isn't it. DON'T assume the worst if you dont see one. its tough though isn't it. i really hope it all goes ok for you, why SHOULD'NT it hey? its definately time you had a healthy pregnancy. i will be constantly checking on here tomorrow for news!

mrs - you surgery sounds like mine! my notes got lost the first time i was pg and i wasn't booked in to give birth at any hospital! all got sorted in the end, but it really is stress you can do without isn't it. in my area they seem to have a really hard time keeping the communication up between the community midwives, the hospital and the GP. having said that they have been VERY good to me so far this time!

well...............i just told my sis i am pg. she is such a sweetheart she really is! she didn't cry like i thought she would but i did! she is fertile this weekend so i have tried to give her a pep talk and i am keeping EVERYTHING crossed that they manage to do the deed and once is all it takes! she REALLY deserves it bless her

Bodkin · 07/02/2007 20:08

Fettle - good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes.

MrsMc on your behalf. That is utterly ridiculous. My experience is the same as Fettle's - see gp, she just said, fine, great will book you in with MWs (literally, that is all that happened - luckily I was there about DDs eczema as well else I would have felt a bit cheated!) and then since then the MWs have been great. Give 'em hell!

Chooster - classic! I've done that myself a few times - luckily DP sleeps like a log.

Bodkin · 07/02/2007 20:13

Crossed with you Greedy. Well done for breaking the news to your sis - sounds like she took it well - maybe the element of a bit of sisterly competition might spur her on! Hope she has a good weekend! Does she Mumsnet? If not, get her on!

Bodkin · 07/02/2007 20:16

Oh and Babymad - just saw your scan pic - it is incredible! Amazing detail, thought mine was good, but yours looks like a proper little dude in there! Ace bump too - people are starting to look very disappointed that I'm not showing more at nearly half way though.

Chooster · 07/02/2007 21:17

Just popped on to say good luck to Fettle for tomorrow!!! We'll all be keeping fingers crossed for you and the little fettle xxx

Well done for telling your sis Greedy - like you say, this weekend could be the one for her.

fettle · 07/02/2007 22:08

Thanks Chooster! You've made me reassuringly break down in floods of hormonal tears!!!

Thanks everyone being so great!

sleep well
x

greedyforbabies · 07/02/2007 22:17

Morning all I'll be thinking about you this morning Fettle, let us know how you get on hon and don't be too disappointed if the heartbeat is too quiet to hear, I'm telling myself I might not hear it at mine either (whenever or if it happens!). I have good vibes for you.

Greedy - well done telling your sis, that must be a weight off your mind

Babymad - do you think you feel like that because you are in the middle and your body is taking it all in its stride?

Hello Chooster, Hello Firststar

Thank you all for your empathy. I called first thing and spoke to the MW, she seemed nice, I told her everything to date and she was eager to get me booked in. She said the scan will be between 12 & 14 weeks. DH is to pick up a pack tonight and I'm to complete it, hand it in and she'll make an appointment for me within the week. Let's hope there is a pack there for me tonight!

Bodkin · 08/02/2007 10:29

Hi all - having a sneaky posting frenzy while at work - boss is in London today.

Mrs - hope your DP gets the pack tonight and you can finally get in the system. In my experience, there is very little intervention by GP or midwives in the early weeks, unless there is a history of complications. I didn't even bother going to GP until I was about 9 weeks this time because I knew nothing would happen until about 12 weeks.

No snow down here in Dorset . DP is gutted, as he has DD today and had plans for a fantastic day of snowman building and sledging... He looked very dispondant sat in front of Pingu with DD when I left them this morning! He said he didn't know what to do with her today. I left muttering "try thinking of what to do to entertain her for 6 days a week"!!!!

Pressure of very small person on my bladder is starting to be very noticeable now. I keep waking up in the night thinking, Wow, what is that intense pain? Takes me ages to realise I am DESPERATE for the loo.

Have noticed I seem to be suffering from increased (ahem, sorry) phlegm this pregnancy, and keep having to hawk like some nicotine-stained old tramp to remove it. Anyone else finding that, or am I in fact just revolting?

Enough rambling on. 'Spect i'll be back for more later, in between leisurely bursts of work.

Bodkin · 08/02/2007 10:31

Just re-read that last post - No I'm sure none of you have noticed that I am suffering from increased phlegm!!! What am I on about?!

Bodkin · 08/02/2007 10:32

Oh for gods sake, have just read it again, it does make perfect sense. Now I really need help. Thank god I'm not a brain surgeon or something really important....

bodders!...............you are losing it!
my dh took our 2 to the childminders this morning. shame cos i wanted to play in the snow with them, but i had to come into work and see my patients...........except for.............now they have all cancelled cos of the snow! how frustrating!

any news yet fetllywettly?

by hte way bodders...........i think pg does make us all a bit revolting doesn't it............what with the farting and phlegm.............aren't you supposed to be blooming by now?!!!!

Bodkin · 08/02/2007 11:02

Thanks girls. Sanity temporarily restored now (hopefully) No greedy, I am not really blooming. Bump is virtually non-existant in daylight hours (comes out after my tea!) But i do feel much less tired and hungry all the time, and have more energy, a bit less tearful, but am clearly mad as a sock.

Just done my profile but brain went blank, so have written a load of old guff.

greedyforbabies · 08/02/2007 11:58

dont suppose anyone knows what time fettles scan was do they?

pinkranger · 08/02/2007 11:59

no idea, hope all goe well for her!

SEnding her some vibes
