Morning all

Can?t stop long ? at work, but thought I?d let you know that I?ve got a scan booked at the EPU for Thursday morning, with a letter from my GP to take straight there, if I have any more bleeding before then. EPU didn?t want to see my earlier as I?m only just 6 weeks and they weren?t sure they would see a heart beat at this stage.

Felt really sick last night and this morning, but it?s eased off now, which is good in one way, as it was awful this morning, but it is reassuring! Anyone else had really pert nipples since finding out they were pg, BTW ? I can?t get mine to go down ? feel a bit self-conscious at work and wondering around with my arms crossed!!

MrsMc ? hope test results ok ?thinking of you!

Anyway, best get on with some work ? take care all
x

All my pushchairs are in the baby's room along with boxies and boxies of other baby stuff, with two DC and DH at full time work I never seem to have time to get anything ready, so what ever I do (christmas, hoildays and so on) I have to start supper early, just so it's done on time!

bethoo · 06/02/2007 13:28

Fettle - where in Wiltshire do you live?

greedyforbabies · 06/02/2007 15:16

thanks everyone for being so lovely!

Mrs - my scan was internal so you need an empty bladder for that. the probe is like a massive dildo and they even put a condom on it! it was a bit scarey seeing that coming towards me! i am pretty sure my next scan will be external. the full bladder is a bit of a bugger! especially as you feel like you are going to piss yourself any minute and then they start probing and prodding your stomach really hard! i wonder how many women have actually pissed themselves whilst being scanned........................maybe you could be the first!!!!????
your scan is at 7 wks yes? it will be a very similar time to mine cos i will be 7+4 when i have my next one! we should definately see a heartbeat by then. i am going to look at that link that kitkat posted on here in a minute to see what 7 wks will look like! i take it your pg test WAS positive then? why do you want a nuchal fold scan so much by the way mrs?

babymad!!!!! your fourth pushchair for the baby in your tummy? you truly deserve your name! maybe you should be babycompletelybonkerswithbump though!

chooster - i have heard 34 is THE age to be! i will be 34 soon too!

fettle - i love the way you look after your dh! you sound very much in love!

kingofbods! - glad you and dp are happier now. whats the point in arguing hey? especially if you KNOW you will make up anyway, why bother with the pissed off inbetween bit? i am still bleeding a bit, but its only spotting now really and its the delightful brown blood rather than bright red!

tried to tell my sister last night that i am pg. she has been ttc for a while now and we were being completely honest with each other each month when af arrived. i nearly told her and then she told me that someone at her work had announced they were pg yest and it made her cry. how could i tell her after that?! i am SOOOOOOOOO desperate for her to get pg too, its not fair

firststar - do you have SPD? is that what the corset is for?

BabyMadwithBump · 06/02/2007 15:42

really really cant help it! "babymad" came from it taking so long TC this LO, it was taking over my everyday life!

Just popping on quickly to tell you that my GP's surgery have lost my test or test results or both ........ggrgggggggggrrrrrrr . They have done this to me before for a different test too. I gave the receptionist hell (she deserved it, she was being really condiscending). She told me to try again tomorrow feel sick and none of it is due to being pregnant! I'm at work at the mo but I'll come back for a catch up later!

So sorry MrsMcJur glad you gave them hell sometimes they just need it dont they, I hope you start feeling loads better soon and tomorrow is aother day and will be a great day too! Thinking of you!

greedyforbabies · 06/02/2007 17:10

how crap for you mrs. they really are hopeless sometimes aren't they?

firststar - i couldnt really diagnose you with anything from just your symptoms and without doing any tests but a facet problem certainly sounds feasible. and this would be very likely to worsen with pg and your extra weight, shifted centre of gravity and the hormone relaxin etc.
SPD tends to give pain at the front part of your pelvis where the pubic symphysis is,or sometimes round the back at your sacroiliac joint. tends to hurt more when opening legs and straining the joints.
i am not sure i would recommend the belts personally but i am sure your physio knows best cos they have actually seen you. sometimes i feel that they tend to do the work of the muscles for them and then the muscles become weak and when you dont wear the belt the pain can be more intense. make sense? see how you go with it i say and only you will know if it seems to help or not.

just had a VERY embaressing moment as a chiropractor actually! i was treating my patient and her mum was in the room too. i noticed the room filling up with a very strong fart smell! of course we all ignored it, and i really dont think it was me, but i do remember when i was pg before i seemed to loose the ability to hold them in! i really hope it wasnt me! at least there were 3 of us in the room so we could all think it was someone else!

Bodkin · 06/02/2007 17:13

Bet it was you farty-pants

BabyMadwithBump · 06/02/2007 17:50

Please dont ask DH about my wind!

fettle · 06/02/2007 20:37

Evening all

MrsMc - that's very annoying and incompetent of your surgery - hope they find the results tomorrow. How you feeling yourself at the moment? any more pg signs?

I was feeling really sick, but that's died down today, but I think my boobs are still really sore and I'm full of trapped wind, so based on Greedy's story, I'm hoping that is a good sign. Hopefully DH will be able to take Thursday morning off, as I don't want to go on my own, particularly as I'll have to take DD with me.

Greedy - funny you think me and DH are in love - I like to think we are, in fact I know we are, but last night we had quite a disagreement as he was obviously in a grump, but wouldn't talk to me. Eventually I broke down in tears asking him if he loved me (he was really giving me the cold shoulder treatment). Turns out he was just grumpy and worried about the course he is on now and not accepting that I'm pg as he is too scared of losing yet another one. Quite sweet really, but I said I really need him to support me in this pg and now he is back to being his sweet self - talking to bump etc. I so hope it doesn't go horribly wrong, as it will destroy him.

So Bodkin, glad you and DH have sorted things out too - it is horrible arguing when you're hormonal on top of everything, isn't it?

Anyway, how is everyone else? Happy?

Firststar - back sounds sore - I had SPD with DD and I could barely walk towards the end - thankfully I was induced 4 weeks early for other complications, as I don't think I could have gone on much longer - completely cleared up the moment I had her, thank goodness. Not looking forward to getting that again! I hope you can cope ok with your pain.

Better get going - hello to all I've missed.

take care
x

MrsMcJnr · 06/02/2007 20:57

Ladies, I couldn?t help it, after all the nonsense with the GP?s practice, I had to satisfy myself by doing another test. BFP at 7.30pm, felt much happier after that . I shouldn?t have got so upset but the receptionist was being such a stupid cow and I just wanted to make my appointment with the Midwife and get the ball rolling. Silly I know.

Hey Babymad what are you trying to say? my jeans still fit me at the moment! I?ll keep the tip handy for when they don?t though! I?d forgotten about your collection of prams!! Sorry to hear you weren?t feeling well today, I hope you feel a lot better tomorrow.

Chooster made me feel much better over lunch today ladies !! Thank you! When I was a teenager, living in Spain, you couldn?t get cream eggs and the local pub would give you a bottle of champagne for each cream egg you could give them ? needless to say, they became very valuable bargaining counters amongst my friends! But if I can?t have champagne.. a cream egg would be a good runner up! Thanks for all the useful info on the scans and midwife appointments.

Hello Fettle ? hope all goes well on Thursday (and until then) hon. We?ll be thinking of you, keep us posted. Know what you mean about the nipples ? most unusual for me, DH keeps trying to attack them ? ouch

Hello Bodkin ? glad things are calmer on the home front

Firststar ? hope you are ok after the physio, that condition sounds agony, poor you

Greedy ? about pissing oneself at the scan!!! Suspect mine will be an internal one this time soon so I?ll leave that award to someone else! I signed up to weekly emails from the site KitKat showed us, it?s quite good. Hope I can see a heartbeat at the scan. It?s not so much that I want a nuchal it?s that I would like to have had a proper scan by Mother?s Day so we can tell our family but I won?t have had the growth scan by then if it?s done at 12weeks plus so am thinking that if I pay for a private one at 11 weeks so we can show the Mums scan pictures, at least we will also be having it done for a good medical reason too. Does that make sense? Poor you re your sis, that?s so hard.

MrsMcJnr · 06/02/2007 21:00

Crossed with you Fettle. Really hope your DH can go with you on Thursday. It's so much nicer to have them at these things with you isn't it? (DH has to come with me when I have a jab as I'm so scared of needles ). My DH keeps things in when something is bothering him too, I find it hard because I am not like that and I feel helpless when he won't let me try to help.

Bodkin · 06/02/2007 22:39

Fettle - sorry to hear you've been having an off time with your DH too - but these things are soon resolved with a good heart to heart aren't they. I'm always doing that with my DP - thinking there is a problem with something I've done, when it turns out he is grumpy over the football results or something else completely different!

MrsMc - you'll ahve to get one of those conical pointy bras that madonna wore to fend off DH

Greedy - Mrs just reminded me about the situation with your sister. It is really hard isn't it. There never seems like the right time. When i was pg with DD, my best friend had being trying for 6 months with no luck. Needless to say I had fallen first month of trying so held on for as long as possible before I told her in the hope she might catch up (it took a further 18 months - but now she's lapped me - just had no. 2 a month ago!). In the event, although she understood my reasons for leaving it so late, she was gutted she was one of the last to know - so it's worth bearing that in mind.

Nighty night xx

greedyforbabies · 06/02/2007 22:47

thanks bodders! i knwo if it was the other way round i would want her to tell me. but i guess thats easy for me to say. i just cant bear to make her cry and i really dont think it will ever happen for her. she has sex issues, so it is more due to a lack of actually doing the deed than any known fertility problems

MrsMcJnr · 07/02/2007 09:22

Your poor sis Greedy . Bodkin - PMSL at the conical bra. I think my support tights will keep him at bay, my legs were so sore last night I thought I should start wearing them today .

Fettle - how are you hon? Lissie - are you ok?

Bodkin · 07/02/2007 09:29

Oh I see - well that is a tough one with probably a lot of other complex issues involved. You'll find the right moment I'm sure.

Firsty - sorry to hear about your back problems - and a corset too, that sounds a bit grim and Victorian! Mine's giving me a bit of jip too - specially after i've been working for a bit, takes me ages to straighten up after I've been leaning over my workbench!

Hi ladies,

Sorry about your sis Greedy - thats tough because its frustrating enough when you try everything you physically can to get pregnanct never mind having to deal with other issues as well. Hopefully it will happen for her...

And yes you are right 34 is the age to be - although that will move to 35 after my birthday in March .

I reckon all (well, most) DP's / DH's must be the same. My DH gets grumpy and although he doesn't take it out on me, he doesn't really talk to me and is a but snippy so I take that as him being cross with me. Normally its just because he's tired (he works shifts so half the week gets up at 4.30am), but he never actually says that until we are having an argument

Oh Greedy - I did laugh at yor fart story. Last night I was in bed - just nodding off - and something woke me up, and I was aware that my DH was pissing himself laughing. He said I farted so loudly I woke myself up [blush}. Unfortunately I then woke up an hour later and threw up my whole dinner. This happened about a week ago as well (except it was after breakfast) and the only connection is that I'd just taken my pregnancy vitamins about an hour before. I'm almost a bit nervous now to take them.

Sorry for those with back pain - that must be agony - hope you get some relief from it soon.

MrsMc - Very glad you did that test last night - at least now you can relax a wee bit more and just be annoyed at the doctors. If they can't find it today are you just going to go ahead and book the midwife appt?

Babymad - I thought I had a buggy problem (DS has had 4!!!) but you've made me realise I have to buy a lot more to compete.

Take care all!!

Chooster - same thing has happened to me on the vits, I took them on an empty stomach so that was really stupid. I now take them with horlicks at night (keeping my calcium up!). I will try and book in with MW today whether they have the results or not, if they'll let me.
