Hi, I'm bored, sat on mumsnet or googling every symptom and trump. I'm 37+4 and it is my third and final. I know I should be enjoying every last kick and lightning bolt to the cervix, just feeling it is quite a big mountain to climb. Dd's were 40+3 and 40+ 6 and this is a boy. How is everyone else doing? WHAT are you doing? I am busy grumping at dh and pinteresting healthy post natal things whilst eating Easter eggs...

Squaffle yep, walk in the park Wink

HappyInL0nd0n · 31/03/2016 17:50

confusedlilly Many congratulations on the birth of baby Dexter! Sounds like a dream delivery.... very jealous here. Envy Grin

namaste30 Fingers crossed your little one holds on another day and your Dad's agricultural experience isn't called into action!

I have a scheduled sweep tomorrow morning and I'm debating whether or not I should do a full on tidy-up of the lady garden. On the one hand, I feel like I should for the poor midwife, but on the other hand, I'm guessing she couldn't care less and I don't particularly fancy itchy hairs growing back if I'm in a vulnerable state in the weeks after the birth. Any thoughts, ladies? Convince me not to be a lazy slattern....

zannyminxoxox · 31/03/2016 18:14

Due date today baby obviously too comfy in there. Been for a meal a walk round some shops and then to mil with the dh and kids. Trying to keep busy as its sooooo boring waiting for a baby to arrive anyone else feel like life is on hold. Congratulations on the babies. 10lb 13.5 what a weight.

namaste30 · 31/03/2016 18:49

Ok- bikini line....I have got one of those shaver/ bikini trimmers from the supermarket- just to keep it all short and neat. It doesn't itch growing back when there is a short bit- not like shaved completely- but is clean and considering all the gore/ lochia/ possible stitches i think this is best.. I just can't exactly see it- and dh laughed when I asked him to check it was all neat. The midwives won't care at all btw...they see all sorts!

Congratulations and well done Lilly! Hope you and Dexter are both well.

Good luck Emma and Little. Hope you'll both be holding your babies soon.

Feeling so upset today as my MW said I'm measuring 2cm too big and need a growth scan. They can't fit me in for a scan until next week but in the meantime if I go into labour I have to go to the consultant led unit at a different hospital instead of to the lovely midwife led unit I was booked at. Due date isn't until Tuesday but I've had a show today so wouldn't be surprised if the baby arrives before then. Trying really hard to be positive but I can't stop worrying about potential risks if the baby is big, and thinking about the bad experiences I've had with the new hospital before. Sad Please send positive thoughts my way!

Squaffle · 31/03/2016 19:13

Nothing but positive vibes coming from me, Knits! Not sure if it helps but I had the opposite: they told me baby was measuring small and had to wait for a growth scan reading all sorts if scary things in the meantime, then when the scan finally came around the baby was bang on.

Currently trying to work out if my waters are going? Losing fluid in tiny trickles every time I stand up, definitely not pee but doesn't smell sweet. Could be excess discharge (sorry TMI) as I've been lying down all afternoon. Vague period pains but definitely not contractions as they don't have a start/stop point, just notice them every now and then...

Dellabob123 · 31/03/2016 20:58

Huge congratulations confused that is awesome.

And fingers crossed lilly and squaffle so so envious of babies being born and waters going, sounds pretty imminent to me ladies.

I'm going to book a sweep for next week and hope the old cervix is favourBle by then. I will be 40wks so truly truly hope so.

As an aside, every little moan or grumble I have of late, that is clearly justified, gets eye roll and a pregnancy related brush off from dh. I might accidentally hit him. Is it me? Anyone else the same.........

My dress sense hasn't improved today. Same floral joggers, different stripey top....only to discover melted Easter egg chocolate down the front after spending an hour discussing our lights with the electrician. Actually, I didn't care. I just picked the chocolate off.

fedupofpeppa · 31/03/2016 21:22

Oh my. Lots going on on here today! Congratulations on the new babies and good luck those of you where things are definitely moving forward!

I on the other hand am struggling with a killer cold and chest infection so am now hoping baby gives me a few days to recover before making an appearance. Was already a big grump and this is not helping. I pity my family right now haha

namaste30 · 31/03/2016 21:46

So sorry Fedupofpeppa hope you feel better in the morning.... Squaffle are you going to get checked?! How exciting!

I went to get the car and my bag, walked and am now exhausted, but have put up the cot and settled on the small nursery with a dining chairs and cushions. No farmyard delivery antics for my dad and I'm going to bed. Actually have missed dh and the kids!

Haven't checked in for a while - v exciting to hear your news confusedlilly - 5hrs!?! Nearly 11lbs!?! Wow. Mega congratulations.

fedup really hope you're feeling better soon. I had a horrible cold recently and so glad to be over it now and feeling I have some energy again and ready whenever baby comes. Rest! fluids! More rest! Etc.

knits - what a pain about the measurements. Fx baby waits for scan and all found to be fine, but if not big babies don't necessarily mean trouble and your experience at either hospital will be a lot down to who you encounter there - just as likely to find a lovely mw/Dr in the clu as the mwlu. Good luck with it all.

Nothing to report here. No birth ball bouncing for me as I don't have one. I have a book about pelvic pain in pregnancy by a physio who actually recommends sitting leaning back with your knees open - contrary to all other advice I've read, but her stuff has really worked for me - much less pain this time than last - so I just lounge on the sofa/cushions as long as it feels comfortable!

confusedlilly · 01/04/2016 09:07

Hope everyone is getting on ok.. Looking forward to seeing more babies arrive.

thank you for all the congrats, I have no idea how I did it. I do however feel like I have done ten rounds with Mike Tyson today!

Baby Dexter seems to be enjoying his sleep so managed to get a decent few hours of broken sleep last night which is better than I expected

Squaffle · 01/04/2016 12:03

Baby girl born in the water at 1:15am (DP got his April Fool!), 5 hour labour, no time for pain relief, followed by surgery for retained placenta and 2nd degree tears. She's worth every second of it :) Hope you're all well today, will check in when we get home x

Dellabob123 · 01/04/2016 12:07

My goodness they are coming thick and fast now!

Congratulations squaffle, well done

ComeLuckyApril · 01/04/2016 12:24

Congratulations on all the babies! Apparently I'm 3/5, hope that's a good sign Confused and I'm still getting lots of random period pain, but nothing regular. I wish I knew what to expect but I imagine actual contractions will hurt more and I won't be able to sleep through them.

InFrance2014 · 01/04/2016 12:30

Congratulations to everyone who's levelled up already!

All this excitement is actually making me a bit weepy, having been working so much (last day in office today), it's been hard comprehending that a baby WILL be arriving in the next fortnight or so. Hearing all these stories of twinges, waters going, and then babies arriving is making it feel much more real for me too, thanks for sharing!

HappyInL0nd0n · 01/04/2016 12:50

namaste30 Thanks for the tip re. the trimmer. I ordered one on Amazon and it arrived this morning. Will give it a test run. Smile

Squaffle Congratulations!!! 5 hour labour? These updates are very encouraging... Grin Take care x

SevenOhTwo · 01/04/2016 13:23

Yay! Another one - congrats Squaffle! at least the birthday will be easy for people to remember Grin

I have spent all morning at the Drs surgery with a poorly DD - 2.5hr wait, after which I was so hungry I was shaking and crying. Nipped round to pharmacy to pick up prescription and some food and came back to a parking ticket as 5mins late. Boo. At least we're home and relaxing now.

IndomitabIe · 01/04/2016 13:33

I have an April baby too! Born at ~2am after a ~5hr v painful labour. DS2 remains as-yet unnamed. V snuffly, windy and pukey already.

Shirkingfromhome · 01/04/2016 13:35

Congratulations squaffle and indomitable Flowers

fedupofpeppa · 01/04/2016 14:23

Congratulations snuffle and indomitable. Lovely news!

Dolly80 · 01/04/2016 14:28

Ah, more babies! Well done squaffle and indomitable.

Had my sweep yesterday but nothings happened as yet. Although I've had cramping and backache since, which could be the start of something or, knowing my luck, could just be late pregnancy twinges.

brookeberry · 01/04/2016 19:10

Can I please join! 38 weeks today with DC1 and I have an induction booked for 38+5. Been feeling fine through the pregnancy but wanting to sleep a lot now. How do you all prepare for labour, or do you just go with the flow? I'm trying to read up on hypnobirthing, but I keep eating cake instead. Grin

applecatchers36 · 01/04/2016 19:22

Can I also join...38 weeks today with DC2, been well throughout pregnancy and being kept very active with my toddler!

In terms of how to prepare I guess just being reasonably rested as it is hard work, read a couple of books as a refresher, maybe I should look at hypnobirthing too?

confusedlilly · 01/04/2016 19:39

Congratulations on the First April babies born. Enjoy the snuggles, I can't get enough of them with my chunk Smile

namaste30 · 01/04/2016 19:57

Brookeberry- applecatchers join us! You are the same due date as me! Yay! We might be on here sometime! I have read a book called 'birth skills' by someone called juju which was good if a little er, feely. I read it before each of the girls and feel quite empowered and prepared in my own body. I would happily send it on as this is my last, but the puppy has shredded it into a million pieces in a symbolic and annoying gesture to get me on all 4's to clean it up. Is it both of your 1sts? So excited- I worked a full day today which was good to keep my mind off it but am mega tired now- wheat pack and you've been framed Grin
