Hi, I'm bored, sat on mumsnet or googling every symptom and trump. I'm 37+4 and it is my third and final. I know I should be enjoying every last kick and lightning bolt to the cervix, just feeling it is quite a big mountain to climb. Dd's were 40+3 and 40+ 6 and this is a boy. How is everyone else doing? WHAT are you doing? I am busy grumping at dh and pinteresting healthy post natal things whilst eating Easter eggs...

That registrar is talking out of their arse. 37 weeks is considered to be full term. I had DD at 38+4 (induction started day before) and she was absolutely fine, we went home the next day.

emmac3616 · 07/04/2016 23:06

crumbly that is AWFUL! Big hugs to you... I would be so upset, paticulatly as it sounds like it's not true! Good luck getting a sweep done xx

crumblybiscuits · 07/04/2016 23:07

I know LBOC I was furious when he said it. My last DD was an induction at 39 weeks too and my labour was only 4 hours long and I took her home the next day. He obviously didn't even look at my notes or he would have seen we had a loss last year and the last thing I need at a scary time is to be told that I'm supposedly putting my baby at risk. Don't think my consultant would have insisted on induction unless it was absolutely necessary!

emmac3616 · 07/04/2016 23:07

Ps. reebok I totally know what you mean, I've had similar symptoms and a massive sickness relapse... It's hardwork isn't it?!?

fedupofpeppa · 08/04/2016 05:10

Crumbly that sounds wrong. Maybe call back today and check it?

Reebok that sounds horrendous. You have my sympathies. I have had a lot of bh and cramping this time around and so am constantly on edge. And I didn't have nausea to contend with too.

Nothing to report from me I am afraid. Was having regular contractions but then they stopped around midnight and nothing since. Crap night sleep in the hospital and the guess I now have an induction to look forward to which I was hoping to avoid. Oh well. Labour ward was full last night so they weren't doing inductions anyway so am a few back in the queue. Bit of running around the hospital might get things moving again. Poor dh slept on a chair for most of last night but has just gone home to get a couple of hours sleep. Could be in for the long haul here.

crumblybiscuits · 08/04/2016 11:59

Kicked up a fuss and have a sweep hastily booked in for 4pm. Now mentally preparing myself to be told they can't even reach my cervix!
Hope everyone else is ticking along nicely. Let's pop out some babies!
peppa fingers crossed they pick back up again for you. Get going up and down the stairs.

fedupofpeppa · 08/04/2016 12:25

Sorry no real updates from me. Had a pessary but not doing much other than making me feel like I need to poo really bad. Was told I had an unfavourable cervix (what a compliment eh?) So think it might take a bit of time. Out of the 5 people on my ward, 3 are in labour and being quite vocal so is slightly freaking me out bringing back bad memories. Oh well. Back to walking the hospital for me.

emmac3616 · 08/04/2016 13:05

fedupofpepa sending you lots of positive vibes - fingers crossed!

crumbly good luck at 4pm...I had one at 9am - obstetrician said she didn't think it would happen today as cervix was ok but not massively favourable with bishop score of 7... Interestingly, just looked back at my notes from DS1... The day I went into labour with him I had a very similar bishop score and cervix so not TOTALLY disheartened! It took about 7hrs to work last time... She did say I was 3cm dilated by the time she'd done the sweep. We shall see!!! ;-) good luck with yours anyway!

Dolly80 · 08/04/2016 15:10

Good luck everyone. I had a sweep yesterday but doesn't seem to have done anything. I had a bishop score of 5 but, to be honest, I don't even know what a bishop score is Confused Was 2cm dilated with a soft cervix so things going in the right direction... it's just a waiting game now isn't it!

crumblybiscuits · 08/04/2016 17:31

Sweep went well, very uncomfortable but 2cm dilated, cervix forward and soft. Dilated to a 3 during a contraction mid-sweep. Bishops score of seven overall which the midwife actually seemed really positive about. Very hopeful that my induction will be quick and straightforward now!
Hoping that these sweeps are enough to tip us over emma and dolly!

Dellabob123 · 08/04/2016 19:24

Fab news crumbly and dolly here's to more babies over the weekend!

I had a sweep today, not great, score of 3.
But I requested induction to start with strip thing first and for me to go home. It did sweet fa last time and went on to pessaries so, prob happen again. I could have my bambino by Wednesday, gulp!

Good luck ladies

Dellabob123 · 08/04/2016 19:26

Meant to say that to emma - 7 sounds super promising Smile

InFrance2014 · 08/04/2016 20:16

39w milestone today, but no sweeps or anything as 'due' not until 41w in France. Partly glad not have the mental pressure of being 'overdue' as soon, but am really starting to struggle.
Bump is very high, SO tight and uncomfortable now; its not BH, it just feels tight all the time, and painful around the bellybutton, like its just starting to tear Sad. Poor baby isn't moving as much, she's running out of space.
Am getting worried/paranoid maybe there's something wrong as it wasn't tight like this last time, but I do know the baby is a bit bigger.
Wishing everyone who's having sweeps and inductions the best of luck and to have babies in arms very soon!

ComeLuckyApril · 08/04/2016 20:58

I feel tight and painful too, so maybe it's just normal? Baby has been fairly active regardless, which isn't very comfortable.

Still nothing happening here. Have started to get texts from people asking 'how are you' which just annoys me because I think it means 'are you having the baby yet'. But I'm irritable anyway, waiting to be done!

crumblybiscuits · 08/04/2016 21:13

Been having contractions fairly regularly since about 7pm. All about 30 seconds long and between 3-5 minutes apart but not that painful. Lost a fair bit of blood and rang maternity triage who said it could be my bloody show but it seems a bit thinner than that.
Come on baby!

namaste30 · 08/04/2016 21:16

I am getting those texts too! Had to go to bed with a horrible headache- trying to research it a bit- could be related to hormone changes, trying to equate that to positive things happening before labour? Baby has been going absolutely insane, so I don't know about the lack of space everyone says happens at this point.

Oooh Crumbly how exciting! Sounds like things are really moving.

emmac3616 · 08/04/2016 22:09

Good luck crumbly!

thundernlightning · 09/04/2016 02:23

Ooh, exciting! I hope all is well Crumbly!

zannyminxoxox · 09/04/2016 07:09

Baby Ivor born on 5th of April weighing 9lb 11oz good luck with all your labours and births ladies 😊

crumblybiscuits · 09/04/2016 08:21

Congratulations zanny!
Contractions got convincing and then got bearable to the point that I could sleep through them. Woken up with tummy cramps and back ache though so remaining hopeful I could be in early labour. Why do these babies tease us so much?

fedupofpeppa · 09/04/2016 08:42

Baby born at 3:40 am. Whopping 9 lb 10 but utterly gorgeous. Woke up at 1:30 am with a quite strong contraction so went for a walk and was 4 cm gone in an hour and all done just over two hours later. Pretty intense but worth it. Am totally in love!

fedupofpeppa · 09/04/2016 08:43

Congratulations zanny! Another big baby. Hope you are doing well

Shirkingfromhome · 09/04/2016 08:50
