Hi, I'm bored, sat on mumsnet or googling every symptom and trump. I'm 37+4 and it is my third and final. I know I should be enjoying every last kick and lightning bolt to the cervix, just feeling it is quite a big mountain to climb. Dd's were 40+3 and 40+ 6 and this is a boy. How is everyone else doing? WHAT are you doing? I am busy grumping at dh and pinteresting healthy post natal things whilst eating Easter eggs...

Nothing from me. A few strong bh got me excited this morning but unfortunately they have now stopped. My first instinct was I haven't done the washing up so got it done. Then thought oh maybe I should warn my husband seeing as it will take him at least 1.5 hours to get to me......brain is not working.

Dellabob123 · 06/04/2016 15:02

Wonder how shirking is getting on, keeping everything crossed.

waxweasel · 06/04/2016 15:18

I am having a shitter of a day. Had window cleaners in today (the workmen I mentioned) and they have ruined the carpets in every single room of the house upstairs. They've basically dripped black sludge everywhere, including over the clean bedding in the spare rooms and the basket of clean laundry I had left out. Aaaaarrrgggghhhh!!!!
I am now engaged in a battle with them for them to pay us for carpet cleaning, but they are refusing to do more than pay us back for the windows. Leaving me with ruined carpets and a bill of an extra £130, plus a shit ton of washing to do. I know it's not a massive deal but I feel totally unable to deal with this crap and just want to cry!

emmac3616 · 06/04/2016 17:54

waxweasel that sounds awful! I would go mad! I feel your pain re the life admin... Can you just... Is going to result in murder in the not too distant future!

Thankfully DS is a bit better... Still off nursery but much more himself poor little thing...

Now dreading going horribly overdue! Tempted to have a growth scan to check how big this baby is as my DS only just came out naturally and I would like to avoid a repeat performance! If it is big at least I can get the hospital to have a proper conversation about what we're doing when! Or I could just wait and see... Being patient and calm is not my normal thing though ;-)

emmac3616 · 06/04/2016 20:36

(moderate consumption of) champagne and (excessive consumption of) chocolate is helping...!!!! - not inducing labour but I feel MUCH better! :-)

Shirkingfromhome · 06/04/2016 21:10

Hello! We beat the induction deadline Grin baby boy arrived at 7.30 this morning! Just in time for a bit of gas and air but no time to fill the pool! 7lb 13 no stitches!

Havent read the thread - sorry! Just a quick update!

fedupofpeppa · 06/04/2016 22:13

Congratulations shirking. Lovely news

applecatchers36 · 06/04/2016 22:23

Congratulations Shirking sounds like a very smooth delivery! Flowers

Reebok · 07/04/2016 00:23

Can I join? I'm 37 weeks on Friday with baby no 2 but ready to get this baby out!! Had a nightmare pregnancy with hyperemesis, mc scares and since 33 weeks preterm labour scares resulting in hospital admissions. Almost full term now so I want baby out! Sick of having contractions daily.

Dolly80 · 07/04/2016 07:24

Congratulations shirking and welcome reebok.

It's my due date today. I've another sweep booked for this afternoon. Hoping it'll get things going. Was having contractions for 24 hours but they tailed off into nothing, so must've been BH's (although they were mildly painful so perhaps early labour?)

Have induction booked for next Thursday so we'll have to wait and see if baby arrives before then.

How's everyone else doing?

Dellabob123 · 07/04/2016 08:22

Congratulations shirking, what fab news

dolly your contractions sound promising.
Nothing from me again, yawn. Not even any serious b hicks. I've got 41 week midwife tomorrow so guess I'll be booking an induction date!

Wait4nothing · 07/04/2016 08:28

Another who would like to join - though I'm only just 37 weeks today. So hopeful for some action but think I'm going to end up in the overdue club! Going to put the baby seat in the car tonight as we're visiting my parents at the weekend.

emmac3616 · 07/04/2016 08:41

I had a night of BHs last night but all came to nothing, despite being woken twice by them... Due today but nothing is happening! Off for a scan to see how big the baby is and whether I need to start panicking!! Hopefully not, but if the head is bigger than DS's was at term then it is NOT coming out naturally! Fingers crossed its smaller as his turned out to be bigger than 99.6th centile!

InFrance2014 · 07/04/2016 09:38

[waves to Reebok, who is a TROOPER]

Emma your poor DS, glad he's a bit better.
Congratulations Shirking!

39 weeks tomorrow, tried to get an appointment to discuss birth plan (more for care of baby in case placenta complications happen than the birth itself), but nobody available until 18th, which is 40+3... they do cut it fine here! But then birth plans are not the norm in France.
Had two awful nights, hip/joint pain has replaced leg cramps, and am waking up for 1.5 hours at about 4am.... think this happened last time too. Could do without body "training" me for impending sleep deprivation, I remember it only too well!!

SevenOhTwo · 07/04/2016 10:39

Congrats Shirking! Clever baby avoiding induction for you Smile

Hope your DS continuing to improve emma and that you sorted out the window cleaners wax - what a pain!

38+1 here. Alternating between wanting baby out and pg over, and panicking that I don't want to do it and I'm not ready. Feel mean to say it as so many of you struggling and really feel for you but so comforting to come back to this thread and read about others' struggles and feel like it's not just me!

After being awake for 3 hours in the middle of the night the night before last, I spent a lot of yesterday feeling very grumpy - when I'm tired I'm snappy and impatient and I started to get very gloomy about the prospect of another two years of feeling like a shitty mum/not being able to parent how I think I should/struggling with dealing with my children etc. I didn't really realise how tough things were after DC2 was born until much later when I came through in to a much better, calmer phase... I'm hoping I can be a bit more aware this time and get help quicker when I need it.

waxweasel · 07/04/2016 11:20

Congratulations shirking!!! So glad for you that the baby managed to sidestep the induction!

Welcome new people :) and a big high five to the other ladies who have hit due date today with me! Good luck with your MW appointments and sweeps xx

lozengeoflove · 07/04/2016 13:42

Hello, could I join too please? 38 weeks and size of a baby elephant. No, scratch that, full sized adult elephant or possibly even mammoth. What's bigger?

This is baby number 2. Toddler keeping me very busy and exhausted. Am so impressed with those of you who are dtd to get things going. How on earth do you manage?

namaste30 · 07/04/2016 17:30

Waves at lozenge and all new people! Finished work today!! whoop!

Let's get some babies born this weekend people! Sadly I think I am going to be a week or more but happy to cheerleed and get in the mood.. No symptoms here, has a long walk with the kids today and a cheeky 10 minutes on the sofa asleep- when do the holidays end? I will be pleased and sad! Eugh, seen as I am 39 weeks is it ok to do school run in my jarmies?

OP posts:
waxweasel · 07/04/2016 18:07

Definitely ok to do the school run in pyjamas! Essential, I'd say. I just did the nursery run - talk about a gauntlet. They all know it's my due date and I must have been asked 'any signs?' 'where's the baby?' or similar about 100 times. Aaaarghhh!!! I'm making DH do it tomorrow and then hopefully by Monday there will actually be a baby??

lozenge - welcome! I know the pain of pregnant+toddler. I have only managed to dtd once and I must admit it was a right chore for all concerned. Not sure it will happen again...DH took real offence last night because I was having a lot of twinges and tightenings as we put away the ocado delivery, and he excitedly asked 'do you want me to sex you up right now to see if it gets you going?'. I was massively uncomfortable and bent over from stabbing foof pain so just snapped 'I can't think of anything at all that I want less'. He looked crushed. Bless him.

crumblybiscuits · 07/04/2016 18:52

Had my appointment today and booked in for induction on Monday when I will be 38+3. Not been offered a sweep beforehand though, thought I would be and a little bit upset that I haven't. I'd still love to go naturally first and even though the chances are slim, a sweep is better than nothing.

emmac3616 · 07/04/2016 20:23

crumbly why havent they offered you a sweep? did they say? Seems a bit short sighted, like you say, its better than nothing and you never know, it might work?!

I had one at 39wks... it didn't work as I wasn't ready but I felt WAY better that they'd tried... off for another tomorrow AM at 40+1... fingers crossed!

Also, thank you all for kind thoughts and advice re. DS... he seems to have got over his various illnesses.... though I am now keeping him off nurrsery this week as they emailed to say they have a D&V bug going around... I am not having that... would rather be 40wks and manage the toddler tantrums!

Good luck all, let's hope for some more babies / labours soon!

Ex

fedupofpeppa · 07/04/2016 21:21

Well some progress with me. Been getting tightenings for 24 hours but got a bit concerned about lack of movement so been up the hospital and they want to induce me however think i might already be in labour so just waiting for an examination. Baby might be on its way! Alternating between huge excitement and utter panic about having to do labour again and coping with a newborn and toddler.

emmac3616 · 07/04/2016 21:35

Ohh good luck fedupofpepa keep us informed!! :-)

crumblybiscuits · 07/04/2016 22:49

Emma It wasn't my usual consultant today because of the strikes, it was a registrar that I've had a few issues with before. He tried to insist I wasn't allowed an early induction and told me I was putting my baby in danger by having an early induction despite it being at my consultants instruction and said "she will have to go to SCBU and have tubes and wires" Hmm by the time I had booked in my induction I couldn't wait to get out of there and didn't even think to ask about my sweep. I have managed to get hold of a family friend midwife though and she is going to try and arrange one for tomorrow but apparently rubbish registrar hasn't even updated my care plan to allow for one so it will prove difficult. I just want to be able to say I tried everything like you said. Fingers crossed your sweep tomorrow will be successful! Hoping to see more baby announcements too.

Good luck peppa!

Reebok · 07/04/2016 22:53

Good luck peppa!

Waves to infrance! Fancy seeing you here!

Feel like utter crap. Been having loose bowels for the past few days (sorry tmi) and nausea and today I've been projectile vomiting. I vomit daily anyway due to hyperemesis but my medication usually controls it. This has been non stop vomiting! Worried I'm having a flare up or have a tummy bug. Contractions haven't stopped. Driving me mad! 37 weeks officially tomorrow.
