39 weeks... and I'm done! Anyone else due soon and fed up? Rants welcome

I can't sleep, I can't walk, I'm subsisting on a diet of bread and Gaviscon, I don't own a single item of clothing I feel comfortable in - absolutely nothing fits me. And if one more person asks me when the 'twins' are due, I'm going to punch them (I feel like screaming: THERE IS JUST ONE IN THERE, THIS IS WHAT BEING 9-MONTHS PREGNANT LOOKS LIKE!)

Everyone else I know who is pregnant seems to be sailing through the experience with smug looks and serene smiles and can't seem to understand what on earth I'm complaining about. There must be some more fed-up pregnant women out there? Anyone fancy joining in with my rant?

39 weeks here, still awake very uncomfortable. Lots of heart burn and back pain hoping it's the start of something but kind of don't feel like baby is ready yet.

Wishful80smontage · 12/12/2015 01:49

37 and 3 here and I feel crap. Swelling up like a balloon. Still another week of work to go, and have had a 'disagreement' with dh so am currently cutting my nose of to spite my face and refusing back rubs etc as I don't want to be anywhere near him! Thank goodness for DS1 and 2 being lovely. I just want this baby out!!!!

MaisieDotes · 12/12/2015 11:38

Congratulations strawberry! Smile Smile

How wonderful. Hope you are all doing well Flowers

strawberryandaflake · 12/12/2015 12:46

Thank you one and all. So happy they are perfect and healthy. Still waiting for my transfusion and can't wait to take them home. Very sore but so glad I had the epidural. There was no way I could have done it otherwise. Will keep checking this thread for updates on you all! Xxx

tinyme135 · 12/12/2015 12:53

congratulations strawberry :)

jamtartandcustard · 12/12/2015 13:36

Congratulations strawberry Flowers
Well I was up for 3 hours last night with strong Bh. Had paracetamol and hot water bottle but they were getting more intense but nothing too bad. Decided to get some more sleep then woke up 5hours later and it had all stopped!
So throwing myself a pity party today as I'm so fed up.

mrsleomcgary · 12/12/2015 17:21

Yay strawberry!

DH is home this weekend but then working for the next 3 nights,10pm-8am. If i'm going to go into labour myself this is the night to do it,especially since dd is staying with grandma tonight! Of course,no sign of anything happening though DH says i'm 'huffing and puffing' a bit more than usual, which is because I seem to have a foot lodged in my lungs.

Sleepybunny · 12/12/2015 18:42

Congratulations Strawberry!! Enjoy your beautiful boys, hope you recover quickly

Persephone76 · 12/12/2015 20:36

My d date today! I'm getting a lot of lower back pain, twinges in the bottom of my bump and the odd weird pain in my pelvis/leg...would be great if this was it...but I suspect not!

SweepTheHalls · 13/12/2015 08:04

Fingers crossed for you Peresphone. Lots of period pain like discomfort here which gives hope!

ccoleman90 · 13/12/2015 22:28

Yep, I second absolutely all of this! 41 weeks today and no-one will leave me alone, constantly texting or ringing. Apparently it's the family members who have it the worst because they're being left on tenterhooks! I'm so uncomfortable, I haven't been able to sleep for longer than about 90 minutes at a time due to constantly needing to wee. So fed up now!

Daffodil90 · 14/12/2015 12:30

Hope you manage to get some rest before arrival ccoleman90!
I'm pretty much the same, 40+5 today and only a couple twinges in the last 2 days....need her to hurry up now!
Oh, and discovered stretch marks this morning....had completely avoided them all the way through.....in my mind I'm hoping that this means she's grown more and therefore is imminent right?!

jamtartandcustard · 14/12/2015 12:35

40 weeks today!!!!
Tried everything yesterday - long long walk, sex, tried to get dh to give me a sweep, even nipple tweaking which scared the life out of me when they started leaking milk! I've never had that in pregnancy before, milks never arrived before the baby!
Still pregnant. Very uncomfortable today though. Really achey but that's it. Oh well 14 sleeps max to go!

strawberryandaflake · 15/12/2015 18:43

Oh Jam... I feel for you. All I can say is sleep as much as you can. I'm knackered already but at least I can walk without bumping the bump! Xx

mrsleomcgary · 15/12/2015 20:56

I officially can no longer move - I stand for more than 5 minutes and my hips start to kill,i sit on my couch and I cant get back up again because it's low down and when I eventually do get off my fat ass I cant walk because of back pain. DD KNOWS I cant chase after her any more and is taking full advantage of the opportunity to try and destroy the christmas tree.

And to top off the slowly building rage the 'any news yet' texts have started, between us dh and I have had 5 today. We deliberatly havent told anyone what date i'm being induced but suspect a friend who lives locally has been telling everyone its about now, purely because he thought it was going to be on monday (just because, not because of anything we had said to him). i'm ignoring them all.

Persephone76 · 16/12/2015 08:54

Mrsleo - i feel your pain, this stage just sucks, and the looks of incredulity as if it's somehow our fault that baby is late, argh!!

mrsleomcgary · 16/12/2015 10:39

ARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!

just had a phone call from the hospital, they were expecting me in this morning to get induced! Been a mix up somewhere because my midwife and I discussed the date I was to go in last time I seen her. Need to get there for 2pm(ish) to get going,MIL is away finishing her xmas shopping,my mums at work and my aunt is loaded with the cold - as is dd so my aunt is coming in a couple of hours to let us get away! DH was working last night so he needs to get a few hours sleep before we can do anything,so he's in bed while i'm flapping around like a headless chicken trying to figure out what I need to do in the next few hours before we go,we had a plan and it involved getting everything organised tonight once dd was staying at my mums!

Im not complaining,i have fast labours so hopefully this time tomorrow baby will be here but argh!!! stress!!!

Will update as and when I can.

Persephone76 · 16/12/2015 11:50

Good luck mrsleo, hope all goes well and you manage to get everything done that's needed x

SweepTheHalls · 16/12/2015 16:58

Good luck Mrs Leo, I had my pre op appointment today for the c section 2 weeks today. Eeek!

strawberryandaflake · 16/12/2015 18:18

Yayyyyyy! All go now! Grin

mrsleomcgary · 17/12/2015 05:08

Baby Edith (middle name still to be agreed, dh likes Kate,I like Hannah) arrived at 1.52am weighing in at 8lb 3oz. Pessary went in at 4,twinges started at about half 5,ARM just after midnight. She's a bit bruised as she arrived so fast (4cm to out in 20minutes!) but is absolutly perfect. Definatly feel this time around was more difficult than my first but managed it with some morphene and gas and air so feeling quite proud of myself. Managed to breast feed her, something dd1 never got the hang of, and is currently sound asleep while I munch my second round of toast Smile

tinyme135 · 17/12/2015 07:07
