39 weeks... and I'm done! Anyone else due soon and fed up? Rants welcome

I can't sleep, I can't walk, I'm subsisting on a diet of bread and Gaviscon, I don't own a single item of clothing I feel comfortable in - absolutely nothing fits me. And if one more person asks me when the 'twins' are due, I'm going to punch them (I feel like screaming: THERE IS JUST ONE IN THERE, THIS IS WHAT BEING 9-MONTHS PREGNANT LOOKS LIKE!)

Everyone else I know who is pregnant seems to be sailing through the experience with smug looks and serene smiles and can't seem to understand what on earth I'm complaining about. There must be some more fed-up pregnant women out there? Anyone fancy joining in with my rant?

Maisie as usual I missed all the drama....oh well whatever floats people's boats hey

Persephone76 · 06/12/2015 18:58

Congrats sharon!

I've been super hormonal today, had big argument last night with DH and again this morning but I now feel really chilled?! I cannot cope with the rollercoaster of emotions anymore...and it'll continue after the birth too, argh!

Lillylou1991 · 06/12/2015 19:21

Wait persiphone... these split personalities dont just go after birth?! Oh my poor DH!!! Xmas Sad

Persephone76 · 06/12/2015 20:16

Lilly - last time when my milk came in I couldn't stop crying, but they were happy tears. I cried at the drop of a hat for a few weeks after, but I wasn't angry. Whereas in late pregnancy I get soooo grumpy, as well as teary! Happy days!

Lillylou1991 · 06/12/2015 23:03

Im not so much grumpy but i cant stop crying and feeling really rather sorry for myself. Its getting worse each day too! Cant wait for that to keep going with leaky boobs! Chocolate

Wishful80smontage · 07/12/2015 08:44

Hope everyone is doing ok?
Can I ask you all to keep your fingers crossed for me today please going to see the consultant for some checks and although I'm not due until the 11th I'm going to try and arrange an induction date before the 20th as newborn has to stay in hosp for nepnatal checks on his heart and Im desperately hoping we can be home for Xmas with my dd.

justanothermummy2b · 07/12/2015 09:07

Ooh just saw Sharon's news! Congratulations! Hope you and bub are both good and being well looked after :)

Good luck today Wishful! Here's hoping we have another thread baby very soon Grin

I'll join the rest of you on the grumpy train though, it's Monday, I don't have a baby and (TMI alert) I am so horrifically constipated I am beginning to feel somewhat panicked about the situation. I'm so uncomfortable I can't eat anything, Yesterday I panic-ate an entire bag of prunes with no effect whatsoever and this morning's super strong coffee has just made me feel ill...

I'm due tomorrow. I look like a beached orca. I keep having crampy feelings in my thighs which is usually what my period pain feels like, so I get my hopes up that it's all going to kick off aaaand.... Nada.

My toddler daughter is being very sweet but I feel guilty that I can't play with her as much as I want to. She's on the tablet a lot.

AnneSansTete · 07/12/2015 11:38

I'm waiting for my elcs next week (currently 37+3). Fairly certain this baby is sucking away all my life force.

Feeling so guilty that my poor little ds (3) is once again glued in front of Thomas while I flop around drinking gaviscon and weeing.

Wishful80smontage · 07/12/2015 12:00

mrs and anne I've felt guilty for dd too but I'm sure they don't mind getting extra cbeebies really.

Well been for scan baby's growth has slowed so I'm having a induction Tomo- if anyone's had one please tell me how's yours went- I'm now really nervous! And feel like I've got a million things to get done for the morn!!

tinyme135 · 07/12/2015 12:34

congratulations Sharon wish my LO will hurry up and come.

I was up at 7 (I am every day to get DP ready for work as he works long hours and that extra 20 mins in bed helps him) and he told me to go back to sleep. he actually tucked me in and I just cried. I don't know if it was from exhaustion or hormones or that he's really trying for me? and now I can't move out of bed as I'm getting horrible back pain and mild period cramps with a horrible headache. (whispers to LO) I know you want to come out for Christmas so come on, we all want to see you.......will that work on getting him out? [santa]

strawberryandaflake · 07/12/2015 14:11

Good luck Wishful! X

mrsleomcgary · 07/12/2015 14:28

I had one wishful and booked for another next week. It was great, though nothing to compare it to.

Pessary went in at about lunchtime, within a couple of hours started getting cramps. Took lots of baths, walked for miles and had 2 paracetomol for the pain. Pain was pretty constant until about 10pm when actual contractions started. At 3am I was 4cm and moved to the labour ward,dd arrived at 4.30am. I did need 2 pessaries in total but no drips and no epidural, just some liquid morphene and gas and air. If next week goes half as well i'll be delighted!

Let us know when baby arrives x

Persephone76 · 07/12/2015 14:38

Wishful - I was induced last time, at 12 days overdue. Gel went in 8pmish, pains from around 10pm, 2cm dilated at 2am, 6cm at 5am, baby born at 8.42am. So all pretty quick.

Wishful80smontage · 07/12/2015 14:47

Wow both those stories sound positive thank you! The midwife was very doom and gloom today- suppose they have to give you worse case scenario but it sounded awfully slow and painful!
Fingers crossed he wants to co-operate and come out :)

justanothermummy2b · 07/12/2015 15:19

Wishful i was induced with my first because labour slowed then stopped after my waters went. I had the pessary at 4pm and contractions started almost straight away. I then ended up going on the drip and had an epidural because labour wasn't progressing as fast as they liked but despite this, I can say that my experience was also positive. I was so scared about being induced but everything went very smoothly and the epidural was wonderful! Good luck!!

Thanks Just hopefully today goes ok. Sod's law I'm full of a cold but I'm sure the pain of labour will distract from a sore throat :) I'll keep you updated hopefully things progressing for everyone else on here too :)

MaisieDotes · 08/12/2015 07:19

Good luck today wishful!

Tangoandcreditcards · 08/12/2015 08:41

Good luck today wishful!

Hope everyone else still coping, we're all one night closer to the finish line! Although we're probably awake most of the night, so it's all relative... I have just had to lie on the floor for half an hour to recover from a poo. That is probably TMI, but I think you all might understand.

24 hours until I'm 37 weeks and then can start some ball-bouncing in earnest!

High five to all the CBeebies parenting. You know it makes sense.

Lillylou1991 · 08/12/2015 11:51

Good luck wishful thinking of you today Flowers

Wishful80smontage · 08/12/2015 12:26

Thank you ladies-they couldn't break my waters so pessery in but nothing happening so far its been about 2 hours though so not long.

mrsleomcgary · 08/12/2015 13:30

It took me a while to get going but once I was going I was GOING! It can take a while but fingers crossed for you it happens quickly.

jamtartandcustard · 08/12/2015 13:31

congratulations Sharon
good luck today wishful. hopefully you will start making progress soon.
i'm 39+1 today, totally fed up, really uncomfortable. today I've had loads of signs that labour may be starting..... without labour starting. was up half the night with really severe heartburn, nausea. tmi - went to the toilet and had loose bowel motions 4 times within 45minutes this morning. and since then just a bit of niggly lower back ache. and the odd Braxton hicks but I've been having them from about 27 weeks so that's nothing new. all of it getting my hopes up but I know, just know, its all going to die off and i'll still be sitting here big and fed up in another 2 weeks. this is dc4 for me, not yet had a baby before 41 weeks and last time had so many false starts I stopped paying attention. think I might go for a nap, I can prob squeeze an hour in before the school run

Wishful80smontage · 08/12/2015 17:31

Could be the start then Jam!
I've been having contractions but they are bearable last time I was crying with pain when they really got going and not there yet. Will be having another internal in me t couple of hours so they can see if they can break my waters but not expecting baby will come out tonight.

strawberryandaflake · 08/12/2015 18:22

I managed to walk round tesco and only get pointed at three times.
