39 weeks... and I'm done! Anyone else due soon and fed up? Rants welcome

I can't sleep, I can't walk, I'm subsisting on a diet of bread and Gaviscon, I don't own a single item of clothing I feel comfortable in - absolutely nothing fits me. And if one more person asks me when the 'twins' are due, I'm going to punch them (I feel like screaming: THERE IS JUST ONE IN THERE, THIS IS WHAT BEING 9-MONTHS PREGNANT LOOKS LIKE!)

Everyone else I know who is pregnant seems to be sailing through the experience with smug looks and serene smiles and can't seem to understand what on earth I'm complaining about. There must be some more fed-up pregnant women out there? Anyone fancy joining in with my rant?

Also overdue with twins. Cried to my midwife, asked for induction to be put forward a few days, was refused. I can't even walk.

And one more 'ooh, double trouble' is going to get someone a trip to the hospital. Like I don't know it will be hard work. Angry

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 06/12/2015 01:08

39 weeks today. Second child was nine days late and first was four weeks early. Who knows how this one will go.
Having false contractions, stabby fairy pains and piles. Getting very annoyed

Izzie251 · 06/12/2015 01:41

How far are you? I've been really lucky so far but the last week has been horrendous. i can't sleep at night as so I now nap during the day. Going around in circles. I thought they would have arrived by now but don't think they want to leave

Izzie251 · 06/12/2015 01:44

Haha if someone else says that to me too I will scream. I've stopped speaking to randoms in the shop who proceed to ask you lots of questions about twins. They must think I'm totally hormonal but fed up repeating the same thing and hearing their opinions.

ShebaShimmyShake · 06/12/2015 09:27

Yeah, it must be hormonal because pregnant women are insane. It's nothing to do with being hugely uncomfortable, extremely visually conspicuous, and having to listen to idiots at every turn...

justanothermummy2b · 06/12/2015 10:34

They say misery loves company but you have all made me feel MILES better, it is somewhat comforting to know you aren't the only one out there parenting by remote control (my 19-month-old is DELIGHTED with his new routine of hours of Baby TV interspersed with meals made from whatever I can scavenge out the fridge. He is subsisting on a diet of fish fingers and yoghurt - he is in heaven)

And to all of you carrying twins... you are legends. I feel bad enough with just one baking away!

Oh thank god you are all here.

I'm inly 32 weeks but in such pain from PGP, with a Stinking cold and crying at every fucking thing, oh and for no reason.

When will this fucking nightmare be over??!?!

6.3 weeks to go till ELCS.

mrsleomcgary · 06/12/2015 11:21

Currently 37 weeks, having labour induced a week on thursday as i'm a type 1 diabetic. Saw the midwife a few days ago and when she asked how I was I said 'done, get it out'. She just laughed,i was serious.

Opposite problem to most of you but if one more person tells me I dont look that pregnant i'm going to punch them in the face - i'm the size of a bastarding hippo stop trying to humor me/make me feel better!

Icklepickle101 · 06/12/2015 11:22

I wish I hadn't read this, I naively thought it couldn't get worse (I'm only 33 weeks!)

After spending 2 hours crying because I have outgrown my materbity clothes and had bothing to wear to the theatre, then puking the whole way through Elf and then getting about 4 hours sleep (fuck you braxton hicks). Now have the joys of my tranverse baby attempting to turn (I think?) THERE ISNT ENLUGH ROOM FOR THAT!!

The thought of them taking my coedine away next week for my SI joint pain & SPD is terrifying.

I'm going to be a barrel of laughs Christmas Day!

Flowers & Chocolate to all of you

Icklepickle101 · 06/12/2015 11:24

And why do strangers think it's okay to rub your belly?!

Or tell you to cross your legs, they don't want a baby to arrive while showing me around a house glares at bitchy estate agent

ShebaShimmyShake · 06/12/2015 11:51

I was delighted when people started asking when I was due and giving me their seats on public transport because I just looked fat for so long! It was a blessed moment the other day when I sat on a step while waiting in a queue (because standing for more than a few minutes makes me feel ill), an older lady asked if I was all right and I said, "Yes, it's just that I'm pregnant, you see..." She gave me a wry look and said, "Yes, I can see that, dear," and everyone around laughed, in a nice way. Actually made me happy!

And yes yes to all these people who act like you're some kind of explosive time bomb and edge away as if you're radioactive. I blame all these shitty sitcoms and films where one minute a woman is pregnant, and then suddenly a tsunami bursts from her vagina like the Hoover Dam exploding, she starts screaming like a banshee and everyone within a mile radius has to get down on their hands and knees and DELIVER THE BABY LIKE TROOPERS. Fuck you, Hollywood. I wish it DID happen that fucking quickly.

strawberryandaflake · 06/12/2015 12:07

Bahahahahaaaaa!

And also why are people so interested in what I want to name them? Would I give the names of my children randomly to strangers if they were toddlers?

Yeah and if someone is having one baby the initial reaction is that of congratulations. When you have two everyone is a critic aren't they? And everyone knows someone that has twins and was always tired. Up yours, that's what I say to that. Never time I get the baby form from the stork I'll tick the right box.

Also have a splitting pelvis, carpal tunnel and so sick of weeing myself when I cough after having a lovely chest infection. They are so low I can practically feel one of them. I must have super stretchy amnions or something. Being induced on Thursday. I am so bored that I can't even leave home because I can't walk. I made two hats yesterday evening as there was nothing else to do. That's my rant for the morning.

strawberryandaflake · 06/12/2015 12:08

And another thing, I had to sleep naked last night as I can no longer get into any of my night clothes.

Now I am really done.

ChubbyMummy12 · 06/12/2015 12:43

I'm 37+3 with number 2 and iv had enough, suffering with severe spd/pgp currently using crutches. I have to crawl up the stairs Sad was in hospital for 3 days last week because of gastroenteritis and threatened premature labour due to contractions. Ds came on due date, hoping to be abit early this time round! Fed up, tired, can't sleep & want this baby out Sad

ShebaShimmyShake · 06/12/2015 12:51

Ugh, yes. Today is a lovely bright clear winter day and I want nothing more than to go for a long walk by the river. Except that if I stand, let alone walk, for ten minutes, I need the toilet. There are not enough toilets near the river to make this workable. Plus it'll make me feel sick. Walk a lot in pregnancy, they said. Walking is good in pregnancy, they said...

strawberryandaflake · 06/12/2015 12:56

Should have kept my nan's Zimmer frame.

ShebaShimmyShake · 06/12/2015 13:23

I don't need a Zimmer, I need a wheelbarrow, with Vin Diesel pushing it.

Lillylou1991 · 06/12/2015 13:32

I attempted a walk with family today actually! Quoted 'go on without me' and they did Xmas Envy

Suzy4321 · 06/12/2015 13:42

You all have my sympathies.

I hated it, feeling fat, waddling. Back ache in bed standing up or sitting, I wet myself if I laughed, sneeze or coughed (well still do a bit). Couldn't eat anything I wanted. Skin went shit and braxton hicks for 4 months.

There is nothing worse than listening to people saying how they love being pregnant!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 06/12/2015 14:14

Sorry to rub salt in the wound but my little boy arrived this morning by emergency section

Lillylou1991 · 06/12/2015 14:41

DH is really pissing me off today and the calls have started from MIL 'any sign of baby yet?', I'm a joy to be around today!

DH has gone to walk the dog so LO and I are cuddling up on the sofa watching Noddy, struggling to do much else!

Wonder who the next lucky winner of going into labour will be?? X
