I'm 39+6 today. Started getting texts and calls asking where baby is etc. no sign of baby. Feeling pretty ragey. First was 9 days late. This one is comfy. Is anyone else also feeling like they'll be pregnant FOREVER?

Oh wow! Halloween was when I originally wanted to give birth so I'm championing you now instead! Come on baby Cish!!!

CishAndFips · 30/10/2015 20:12

I'm beginning to think he will be right. I can tell something is happening but full blown labour doesn't seem to be in a hurry.

Ladypug · 30/10/2015 20:22

Eeeek exciting!!!

Lemonfizzypop · 30/10/2015 20:56

Oooo cish how exciting! And how cool to have a potentially psychic husband!

CishAndFips · 30/10/2015 20:59

I know he can't predict the lottery numbers or anything useful though believe me I have tried.

Ladypug · 30/10/2015 21:03

I can honestly say I think a fortnight ago I would have paid more for a husband who could predict my birth date than one who could predict lottery numbers! Would have saved me a lot of stress these past few weeks!

CishAndFips · 30/10/2015 21:19

I know if only I had listened oh well hopefully on the homeward stretch now.

sophiaslullaby · 30/10/2015 22:34

Aww Lady I think if you have done everything you can so far then do not be disappointed about an induction (could be me needing these words in 2 weeks so i do sympathise) but you do have the weekend to live in hope and baby is now SO CLOSE GrinGrin

sophiaslullaby · 30/10/2015 22:38

I have to go to bed now before I fall asleep in awkward position on the sofa, lots for luck for progression tonight Cish, is DH thinkng 10:31am? So if we don't hear from you at breakfast then we'll all be asking your DH for the lottery numbers! Grin
Sleep well all!

Ladypug · 31/10/2015 07:29

Thanks Sophia, you are right, think I'm just disappointed and a bit scared because of all the horror stories but not all inductions can be bad, right?

Eeek Cish! I hope you are in labour now (in the nicest kind of way) ready to meet baby cish! Keep us updated!

CishAndFips · 31/10/2015 08:02

Well labour looks like it's kicked in but not enough to go the hospital yet looks like it's going to be a long one.

Ladypug · 31/10/2015 09:23

Yay for labour though!!! How exciting!!!

CishAndFips · 31/10/2015 13:01

Hmm it appears I have graduated to the in labour forever club Sad

Ladypug · 31/10/2015 13:43

Oh no! Although that sounds hideous just remember it's better than still being pregnant! It can only go on so long! Thinking of you!

sophiaslullaby · 31/10/2015 17:42

Hey Cish, came to see how you are - last message was from 1pm so hope it means you've moved swiftly on from a slow start.
I've had a long walk today (legs now ache like crazy), been bouncing on the birthing ball and going out (with the idea that dressing up and sitting in a restuarant will invoke 'Sod's Law for waters breaking) for a curry shortly.

Had bad news today though - hospital I plan to give birth in is closing on Thurs! Has done nothing for my stress I tell you!
Hope all have a good (progressive?..!) evening.

Ladypug · 01/11/2015 11:33

Hey cish, any news? Ah Sophia that sucks! Is there another one nearby? Nothing new here, just holding out!

Lemonfizzypop · 01/11/2015 12:29

Sophia that's mad! Why is it closing?

No progress here at 41+1, no signs at all and desperately googling anything that COULD conceivably be a sign, my skin is suddenly really bad and I thought that might be an indication (desperate) but it's more likely that it's all the sitting around eating toast and chocolate digestives I've been doing.

Ladypug · 01/11/2015 12:30

Haha lemon I love this! I feel your pain! I hope cish is ok

CishAndFips · 01/11/2015 16:06

Hi everyone just popped on to say that after a rather long labour Sophie Louise arrived this morning at 2.42. We just got home from hospital an hour ago and are both fine. Anything exciting happening with you all?

Lemonfizzypop · 01/11/2015 16:28

Oh what lovely news! Congratulations! What a pretty name too.

Nothing to report here but that news has definitely given me a boost that it can happen without intervention! Enjoy your first night with your little one. X

Ladypug · 01/11/2015 16:28

Aw cish! Congrats! Don't know what I will do now without you, my forever pregnant buddy! How was your labour?! X

sophiaslullaby · 01/11/2015 16:35

Aww Cish congratulations!! That's given me hope that birth isn't a myth for me, haha! Beautiful name and glad all wellFlowers Am really smiling for you!

Yes, I have other hospitals around (the closing one was 10mins drive but the others are 30-40mins and bigger). We know the journey to the one but not where the maternity suite is so husband is quite upset - for a man & birthing partner it was the one bit of control over the labour & birth, knowing where to take me and where i'd be, now it could be all out the window he is upset. Stupid MP's - no notice given to the poor women OR staff!!

Anyway, sweep booked Tues - that's all I'm looking ahead to.

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 01/11/2015 19:30

Sophia, I think I know what hospital you are talking about. I'm not in the UK anymore but have friends that are due and have found out the service has been shut down.
As if heavily pregnant women need anymore to worry about.
I hope everything goes well for you at the alternative hospital.

I'm going to join this thread, I am 39+something and technically due on the 12th November as I'm in France and they give you a 41 week due date here.

Had a midwife appt on Friday and I was 1 cm (or one finger as she called it!) dialated, cervix has shortened but it's posterior... I asked her to do a sweep which she just about managed.
Since then nothing other than periody pains and a few twinges at the end of the day...

I just hate the not knowing where and when it's going to quick off!

Ladypug · 01/11/2015 19:48

Welcome brioche! Posterior here too and 2 x failed sweeps :-(

sophiaslullaby · 01/11/2015 23:58

Hi Brioche,
Redditch hospital? Hmm, it's been very poorly handled -lot of upset people, staff as well as expectant mums. Don't know what the district council are thinking.

However, interesting that France give 41 due date - think that's a lot better. How far do they let women go over before inducing?
