I'm 39+6 today. Started getting texts and calls asking where baby is etc. no sign of baby. Feeling pretty ragey. First was 9 days late. This one is comfy. Is anyone else also feeling like they'll be pregnant FOREVER?

mummatobe1 · 06/11/2015 07:35

I'm only 35 weeks and feel like it's going so slow now!!! I feel so emotional and feel like these last few weeks are going to be forever..I'm not working so just stuck in an apartment while partner is at work..driving me crazy!!Confused

sophiaslullaby · 06/11/2015 07:57

Congratulations Ladypug! That's lovely news to read over breakfast, I've been watching thread too. Hope you're back home now to recover and fawn over your little baby!!

Lemon hope you're doing ok.
I'm still going, 41+1 and not feeling any signs of progression. Another sweep due Mon (maybe Tues) before induction next Wed - I know most of you have graduated but might still have to post of here for hand-holding Confused

Hi Mumma - at 35 weeks i wish someone had told me to completely forget about the 'due date'. I got so hung up on it that it did make the weeks drag. Instead book for nice for that day - go out for coffee (decaf tea, pineapple juice?) with a friend, go for a manicure, whatever takes your fancy and focus on that event instead, I did in the end and made me relax and so much happier. Baby still didn't come but I became easier for DH to live with!! Then really try and get on with life as normal, don't hold back 'just incase waters go etc.' because you will drive yourself crazy. You'll be 40 weeks before you know it Smile

mummatobe1 · 06/11/2015 09:26

Thanks Sophia! That made me feel alot better! And congrats girls can't wait till I'm there xx

Lemonfizzypop · 06/11/2015 15:03

Ah ladypug congratulations!

I finally graduated this morning after being induced on Wednesday eve- a verry long and traumatic experience tbh but so worth it now I've got a snuffly baby girl asleep on me!

Sophia good luck with your next sweep, hope it can kickstart things for you!

I've really appreciated the support on this thread and will be checking in to see how all of you who are still waiting are getting on!

Ladypug · 06/11/2015 15:28

Aw yay congrats lemon! Same here, awful labour following induction but so worth it now. Lovely to hear you had a little girl too, congrats!

sophiaslullaby · 06/11/2015 16:55

Congratulations Lemon!! Sorry to hear you had a traumatic time too but like i thought, baby before the weekend which is so lovely! I'll admit i'm scared about induction but less than 2 days later you have your baby in your arms so as traumatic as it could be, it won't be forever.

Lovely to hear girls arriving too - I've only heard of boys arriving around by me. Starting to think there was something in our water, haha (im also having a boy)!

Ooo, yes keep checking back - I'll update next week or if anything happens over the weekend.

CishAndFips · 06/11/2015 20:05

Congratulations lemon

Ladypug · 06/11/2015 22:22

Hey Sophia, just to let you know not all induced labours go bad, woman opposite me in hospital had a great induction and all was well. I was just unlucky and yes, even though it was hard, I would go through it again for our precious bundle! Good luck with induction and please update us all!

Lemonfizzypop · 07/11/2015 00:54

Oh yes same! I only needed the pessary for my induction so was pleased about that, the nightmare for me came when the baby decided to come out sideways (ouch) so it took a lot of time and effort pushing, I was bloody knackered!

But that could've happened with a natural birth!

Anyway whichever way they arrive as soon as you have them in your arms you somehow forget it all don't you!

sophiaslullaby · 07/11/2015 08:59

Oh thankyou, I'm just so sure I'll be induced now (which I've accepted) but keep hearing it's more painful and longer labour. I'm normally quite strong-willed and can cope with most things but I'm 9 days over now so bit of a bumbling mess! Still - this time next week I'll have him in my arms - very surreal but so exciting!

Ladypug · 07/11/2015 09:40

Don't worry Sophia, you will get through it and a few days later it will just be a vague memory. I promise it's worth every second. The worst bit for me was the tiredness as it went on so long so I would say catch up on as much kip as you can now before induction x

sophiaslullaby · 09/11/2015 09:10

Update - I've been having more or less regular Braxton Hicks (didn't think BH were regular, but midwife says they're not true contractions yet) since 2am. Will be so happy if this is the start (11 bl00dy days over due I'd hope so!!), just like his Daddy - late but [potentially] arriving before the crucial time!
DH has gone to work (with bleary red eyes!!) and I've got to fine something to occupy myself at home inbetween dropping to my knees and puffing every 12mins.
Am I right in saying each one feels like the WORST trapped wind EVER? I can cope with it just on breathing & rocking but having to re-think my 'strictly no pain relief' birth plan!!(maverick)

Ladypug · 09/11/2015 09:38

Hi Sophia, just to let you know I had similar to this and proper labour started 9 hours later. Eeeek! Good luck, you night be graduating today!! :-)

CishAndFips · 09/11/2015 10:04

Good luck Sophia hope things have progressed for you.

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 09/11/2015 15:21

Thinking of you Sophia hope it's all kicking off :)

sophiaslullaby · 09/11/2015 17:47

I'm back home now after 4hrs at the hospital, had successful 2nd sweep - favourable, 3cm cervix, wahey! Monitored me for ages (new hospital and high risk) and contractions every 10mins. They let me come home because I asked but just told me to relax and play it by ear so yes fingers crossed very soon!
I was about to say 'nah, it won't happen tonight' but things have moved so quickly already and it's only 5.45pm - that sort of terrifies me! Thought I prepared mentally for baby but I'm so tired I feel like a big baby myself!
Thankyou for your messages - you're all keeping me smiling Flowers

CishAndFips · 09/11/2015 19:57

Ohh exciting thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed.

Ladypug · 09/11/2015 20:19

Eeek! another baby coming soon Sophia! Eagerly watching and waiting!

sophiaslullaby · 10/11/2015 11:27

Still in the club! Can't believe how long it's taking but with the added joy of a short, painful, contraction everytime I move (if I don't move they take longer to come but they do come) - what the hell Body? Either start or don't. Induction booked for tomorrow morning. I've become quite anti-social too - in-laws wanted to stay with me today because DH has gone to work (works 10mins away) and I said no - I just want to be left alone, however painful and teary I am. Is that normal?

Ladypug · 10/11/2015 11:47

Yes! Totally normal, I was the same. Take comfort that this is honestly the last day - tomorrow baby will be here and you will forget feeling like this. Take this last day to rest and prepare your body for labour - you're so close! Hang on in there! X

CishAndFips · 10/11/2015 11:52

Sorry your feeling teary it is totally normal. Your so close now you will be having those amazing new born snuggles really soon x

Ladypug · 11/11/2015 13:49

Any news Sophia?

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 13/11/2015 07:28

Hope all is well Sophia xx

sophiaslullaby · 14/11/2015 08:55

Hi ladies, oh my goodness so sorry I didn't message -it is good news though, just can'take believe where time goes (well I have none of my own now!)
Henry was born Wed afternoon after long labour starting Monday. Ended up on taking 10mins to push him out though because they threatened c-section due to baby distress. All well in the end though and pushed out a 9lbs baby -shocked me!
He's am absolute diamond, so in awe. Although boobs took a hammering last night -nearly every hour he was up wanting to munch!

Just got to say a HUGE thankyou for the support from this thread and you ladies Flowers, I hope others use it to 'graduate' as it was such a help. Xx
