Is anyone else overdue and feeling fed up waiting for our little ones to arrive? Had a sweep done on sunday morning and was in pain all day, was sure it was the beginning but nope still no sign, being gradually losing my plug since sunday night also.

Good luck with today.

He's here! Pessary went in at 12pm, mild contractions started early evening. They started to hurt about 2am and he was born at 4.20am after about 15mins of pushing. He's now cwtched up in my arms.

Congratulations luciferbox! Sounds like a good induction experience. And good luck today kbro

I went in for my monitoring yesterday and all seemed fine so put off induction for another review on Thurs. Tried a sweep, acupuncture and lots of walking to get things moving and woke this morning to my waters breaking. But no contractions and may possibly be meconium in waters so off to get checked out.

kbro79 · 11/08/2015 08:14

Ah lovely news lucifer! Massive congrats. And selfishly great induction stories for me to hear just before I go in ????

Good luck Effin. Hope all is ok and your baby is here soon.

Fab news Lucifer and really speedy for an induction.

Good luck Kbro and Effin!

EffinIneffable · 11/08/2015 12:27

So now off to be induced due to meconium despite baby being barely engaged. Going straight to drip as doctor thinks pessary won't get things going as I'm showing no signs of spontaneous labour. Trying to get my head round it all - seems to be happening very quickly. All the monitoring shows baby's ok and there seems to be a school of thought that meconium in itself doesn't necessarily mean distress but the doctor's making a strong recommendation so guess I need to listen to their judgment. Disappointed that everything I'd hoped for labour -wise is out the window, trying to get my head round it all and don't feel like we're ready for labour but will just focus on meeting my baby soon!

Hope things are progressing well for you kbro

Congrats to Lucifer, and best of luck to Kbro and Effin.

I know what you mean about the disappointment of being induced, I found it all really hard emotionally during the process, but honestly DS is now 4 days old and all that anxiety is a memory now, it doesn't last x

EffinIneffable · 12/08/2015 10:58

Baby effin was born early this morning after starting induction cold yesterday afternoon. Every single thing I said I didn't want to happen did happen but it was all absolutely fine and none of that matters now. He's doing great Grin

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 12/08/2015 13:24

Congratulations! Enjoy your snuggles x

Clstow · 12/08/2015 22:45

Congratulations Effin x

And baby kbro was born just before 6pm this evening. After a few false starts and baby pooing in the womb IT was decided that c section best option. But none that matters as I sit here trying to breast feed my beautiful boy

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 13/08/2015 02:51

Aww wonderful news Kbro. Lots of boys on this thread...maybe it's true that they take their time!!

Enjoy this precious time xx (another one up feeding!)

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 13/08/2015 03:22

I've just created an August babies post natal thread if anyone wants to carry on the chat over there once babies arrive.

Sorry don't know how to link from here.

Luciferbox · 13/08/2015 04:51

Well done kbro and effin. I'm sat up feeding my 2 day old DS and just thought the same thing waiting.

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all and welcome to the world to all new babies!

I have posted here after having a sweep last Wednesday afternoon. I did not come back because I went into labour on Thursday morning and gave birth to a little baby girl on Thursday evening.
From first contraction to giving birth it took 12.5 hrs with active labour of about 2 hrs.
I gave birth naturally without any pain relief (I was scared to try gas and air and I felt the mw got annoyed with me for refusing it). Had some 2 degree tears and I still can't walk properly :(
We had to stay in hospital for a few days after but are back home now and just about coping with hormones at the moment.
