Is anyone else overdue and feeling fed up waiting for our little ones to arrive? Had a sweep done on sunday morning and was in pain all day, was sure it was the beginning but nope still no sign, being gradually losing my plug since sunday night also.

Having said all that I've just had a show... Maybe it worked. My last labour started the same way, it did take another 3 days thou.

kbro79 · 07/08/2015 14:40

Smoked out just made me laugh out loud on the bus! So going to make that joke and pretend I came up with it.

Had a sweep this morning and some cramping since. Nothing enough to think labour is any time soon but bit more promising than Tuesday's. We'll see......

zannyminxoxox · 07/08/2015 14:52

With my lg I was 12 days over it was awful waiting I had friends who were dur around the same time and they all had their babies before me. I felt like I had been pregnant for years just try and keep yourself busy if you can I went walking everyday helped pass time

BotBotticelli · 08/08/2015 05:53

Congrats to everyone that's had their babies.

As for me.....

Omfg - am still fucking pregnant!!! Have been in hospital on induction ward since Thursday lunchtime and still: nothing.

Had first pessary in for 24 hours from Thursday-Friday. Walked around loads. Had lots of tightenings but when it was removed, it revealed that my cervix was still only 1cm so they could not even try breaking my waters (which is what they normally do here after the pessary).

So I had another shorter acting (6h) pessary put in At midnight last night. Doctor should be coming round shortly to see if this has had any effect on cervix - in have been having mild tightenings off and on since I got here but nothing j would call a real "contraction"...so I am extremely doubtful.

If they are unable to break my waters this morning I am going to decline any further attempts at induction and ask for a c section (which will be sort of elective I guess?!) as soon as they have one available.

I am 15 days overdue now and totally fed up!! Baby is just ton happy in there.

Wish me luck!!!

33goingon64 · 08/08/2015 08:25

Good luck Bot! You'll have your baby in your arms soon and all this will fade into a strange memory...

kbro79 · 08/08/2015 09:28

Loads of luck Bot! I really feel for you. 15 days overdue must be torture. When possible let me know what they say about c section. My worry about induction is the exactly what you describing - Going on and on for days with no luck. So thinking will also ask about c section if end up there too. You must be exhustated.

As for baby kbro any post sweep signs of labour have totally disappeared. These babies just like being snuggled up inside too bloody much.

Zanny thanks for the advice. Going to drag DH on long walk today (by which I mean short walk done slowly). If nothing else it passes the time and gets me off the sofa!!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 08/08/2015 21:30

Good luck Bot! Hope you have your baby in your arms now one way or another.

Did the walk do anything Kbro?

Clstow · 08/08/2015 21:54

Best of luck Bot.

My waters went Thursday at 4pm after 28 hours of pessary. Then they started me on the hormone drip at 1am Friday and my little boy was in my arms at 08:50. He's absolutely gorgeous and I'm totally besotted.

kbro79 · 08/08/2015 22:03

Ah gorgeous news!! I was wondering how you were going. Massive congrats!!

Nolongerwaiting not sure. Have had some cramping and bump tightening but nothing in a pattern and nothing haven't had before. Hoping though. But also trying to think more positive thoughts about induction too.

Hophop987 · 09/08/2015 03:21

Hi,

Congratulations to everyone who had their babies! Can I join please? 41 weeks and booked for induction tomorrow morning. I was induced with my DC1 and was really hoping to go into labour naturally this time but it's looking unlikely.

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 09/08/2015 11:49

Huge congratulations clstow! The cuddles are amazing.

Kbro and Hophop, if you do both end up being induced will your hospital let you home after the first pessary? Labouring at home for the first 8 hours made such a difference to how relaxed I felt.

Skeppers · 09/08/2015 12:19

I've hit the 40 week mark today, so I know that I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I've had absolutely no indication that labour will start any time soon! No mucus plug, no Braxton Hicks, no cramps...Junior is still wriggling around like a beast despite being 4/5 engaged at my last MW appointment (@38 wks). Seeing MW again on Tues. I'm going to grab a family bag of Haribo and settle in for the long haul...! waves

kbro79 · 09/08/2015 12:31

They will let me home yes which I am v pleased about. Think that should help a lot.

Hop and skippers, welcome to the waiting room!!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 09/08/2015 12:58

Definitely Kbro. Just knowing you are in your own environment will help.

Welcome Skeppers. It's so frustrating going overdue but at some point in the next couple of weeks you will have your baby so the end is in sight and while you wait there is always Haribo Wink

EffinIneffable · 09/08/2015 13:37

Hello ladies, and congratulations to all those no-longer-waiting. I currently feel like I might actually be pregnant forever! 40 +10 today, and despite plenty of mild braxton hicks over the last few weeks, no sign of anything imminent. Off to the hospital tomorrow to discuss induction, and still in two minds whether to just go for it, or ask for further monitoring for a few more days.

One odd/tmi thing I've noticed is that my nipples - which went pretty dark in early stage of pregnancy and stayed that way - have lightened almost to pre-preg state in the last couple of days. Must be something hormonal I guess, but wasn't expecting them to change back til after birth and breastfeeeding was over. I don't suppose it's anything to worry about and baby still moving plenty. Anyone else had anything similar? Perhaps I'm just looking too closely for any sign of anything happening at all!

Luciferbox · 09/08/2015 14:45

Another one due for induction tomorrow. I'm of four for lunch/tea to enjoy my last taste of freedom before its starts.

Luciferbox · 09/08/2015 14:45

For even! Stupid phone.

tiggerishtom · 09/08/2015 15:08

Can I join in? 40+5 today.

I was induced at 41+6 with my first, so am desperate to go into labour naturally this time as I REALLY want a water birth!!!

kbro79 · 09/08/2015 16:43

Great minds lucifer - we have just been for a pub lunch to enjoy our last weekend as 2. Decided just going to chill now till Tuesday. If baby comes before, great, if not then induction it is. But don't have the energy to keep trying different old wives tales.

Effin - erm yes actually I had noticed something similar with my boobs. Although noticed about a week ago and still no baby so not sure what that means. Am also now 40 + 10. Feels like 40 plus 10 months not 10 days. I had thought about asking for more monitoring but decided to go with induction now. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Luciferbox · 10/08/2015 05:54

Cannot sleep. I've been up since 4.44am trying not to worry about induction.

kbro79 · 10/08/2015 07:55

Right there with you. In fact I suspect the worry of induction is stopping me from going into labour naturally (that and a slight difference of opinion with DH over something this morning that has left me in an irrational hormanal rage ???? There is currently no oxitocin in this house)

Really hope it goes safely and smoothly and quickly. Best of luck.

Luciferbox · 10/08/2015 10:44

Good luck to you too. I'm on a 4 bed ward with women who have been here for days (but are between 35-37wks). I've had my obs done and waiting to go onto the monitor. This is going to be a long process.

Hophop987 · 10/08/2015 18:55

Lucifer, good luck!

Kbro, is your induction tomorrow?

We had our dc2 today! Had tablet inserted and 1 hour later contractions started. Another 3.5 hours later our baby was with us!

kbro79 · 10/08/2015 18:59

Oh amazing Hop. That's my kind of induction. And congrats on your baby!!

Yes tomorrow although annoyingly at my sweep this morning my blood pressure was high so ended up spending all day on the ward where I'll be for it, waiting for blood test results and being monitored. Had hoped for a more chilled day. But most important thing is baby is fine and blood pressure came back down.

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 10/08/2015 22:48

Best of luck to all of you! I hope those babies arrive soon xx
