... After a horrible round of IVF that nearly killed me, an early miscarriage several months later and then 5 years of absolutely nothing.

Blood test done. Should know results this evening. They won't do a scan as levels were so low last time, which is a bit shit but understandable.

Numbers have risen, but only to 475, so in two weeks it's been extremely slow they're seeing me for an emergency scan, so they're clearly concerned about something...

Oh god, how awful and confusing for you :(. I don't suppose there is any chance (not sure of exact timings) that this could be a second pregnancy? I know it's unlikely but I'm sure stranger things have happened.

Hoping for some clarity for you one way or another. The limbo is sometimes worse than knowing for certainty, even when it's bad news.

The nurse earlier said it might have been that, but tbh, at this point it's pretty hard to be hopeful

So. I got the numbers wrong. It's in the 4000s. She thinks she has seen a sack on the scan, but it's very high up and she's concerned that it's not much for the level in my blood, and also that it could be implanted in the muscle of my womb, rather than the cavity.
But, on the plus side, there is nothing in my tubes, so even if this does progress in the muscle, its somewhat better.
She is discussing with the senior consultant now thou...
