Hi harry and melonface. I really hope everything goes well fo you during your pregnancies.

I told a very close friend who supported me through the mc that I am pregnant yesterday. I am only just 6 weeks and am waiting for a scan next week but I really felt like I needed to tell her. She was so good to me during the mc (she picked me up from the hospital when I found out I was having a mmc because DH was away with work and I'd gone alone) and I just felt that I wanted her to know because she understands a little bit how hard it is at the moment and how everything is a constant worry. I hope I haven't jinxed anything too but if anything does go wrong this time, she would be one of the first to know so I thought why not tell her? At least now I've got someone other than DH to go on to about all the worries (and everyone here, of course)!

melonface · 28/07/2015 15:20

I told my closest friend early on too, in fact I sent her a picture of the test at 6am as the line was so faint! I too felt that I would need her support if anything went wrong and lying to her til 12 weeks just wasn't an option.

MyNameIsSuz · 28/07/2015 16:18

Tft, I've told a friend too, though not because she's supportive, more because we'd both been moaning about our various period problems and I'd mentioned the weird mini one I had, which I now know was implantation, so I felt like I should fill her in. Also my sil, because we needed someone to watch ds when I had my scan yesterday, I didn't want to tell her yet but it doesn't really matter I guess.

Slightly quick and underwhelming booking in with the doctor today, got my blue notes which makes it feel ever so much more official!

Boysclothes · 28/07/2015 17:53

Scan today - 6+2, and heartbeat seen!

Feel so so happy and relieved. For now.

Suz I'm so glad ye scan was good. TFT, when is your scan?

MyNameIsSuz · 28/07/2015 18:04

Yay, excellent news Boys!

Tftpoo · 28/07/2015 18:16

Great news boys, what a relief (for now at least)!

My scan is next Thursday, 6th Aug. next week is my first week back at work after extended mat leave (I've been off 18 months) and I've already got to take time out for a scan. It's at 8.15 in the morning so I'm hoping I can get to work before anyone notices I'm late and just make up any time in the afternoon. I don't want to tell work until I can't hide it anymore!

cavamonster · 28/07/2015 19:16

Excellent news boys and welcome melon

cloud I found the longest I could go was three weeks without a scan before I started getting really anxious. Pregnancy after mc is all about doing whatever makes you least worried.

metal my movements have never really been regular as others described it, by 28 wk they became slightly more defined but I still couldn't say if something is a kick or a punch now. I have a high anterior placenta and everything is very muted, my husband can't feel 99% of movements from the outside.

Tftpoo · 28/07/2015 19:26

I am trying not to worry or compare to previous pregnancies but I really don't feel very pregnant. I've had sore boobs and have to pee a lot (particularly at night) but I don't feel nauseous or bloated yet and I haven't gone off hot drinks. I am only just 6 weeks but I'm pretty sure I was feeling all of those symptoms by now in previous pregnancies. Please tell me I'm being ridiculous and to stop analysing every feeling or non-feeling!

cherrylola · 28/07/2015 19:43

Tftpoo I had you exact same worries so just popping by to say, I'm 21 weeks PG now, all well and good, but I had NO symptoms at all until well into the second trimester. I didn't even have any boob pain/growth or nausea until past 4 months Smile

Welcome melon and great news boys Grin.

tft, I definitely think the onset of symptoms can vary a lot between pgs. With my dd i didn't start with sickness until after 7 weeks. With mc1 i started at least a week earlier and with this one I've felt very queasy since 4 weeks but not yet thrown up. I also think it's very easy to convince yourself you were feeling things earlier in previous pgs than you actually were, if that's what your brain is worrying about (unless you actually wrote it down of course). So try not to analyse it too much (impossible i know! )

Metalhead · 28/07/2015 21:15

That's reassuring to hear cava. I do occasionally get proper kicks which can be felt on the outside too, but what I find unnerving is that some days she wriggles loads and others I feel hardly anything. But I guess if I wasn't worrying about movements it'd be something else...

tft at 6 weeks my only symptom was tiredness, nausea didn't start until 7 weeks.

Good news on your scan boys!

Nousername2015 · 28/07/2015 21:23

Hi melon, we're almost due date buddies, I'm due on the 20th. Can totally empathise with everything you said and also on the not feeling pregnant side of things, I'm desperate for movements and a bump.

Great scan news boys!

Hello and welcome also to anyone else I might have missed lately.

Zeuxippe · 28/07/2015 22:08

Cloud I can totally relate to how you're feeling about telling work! I just announced our pregnancy yesterday. I'd been wearing increasingly billowy dresses at work after one week a fortnight ago when three people asked me if I was preggers in three days! Was trying to keep it secret until the redundancies were announced, not that it made any difference!! Feel a weird mixture of relief and worry at having told people now...

Congratulations boys on your scan!

Tft I didn't really start to feel sick until 7 weeks so please try not to worry. Some people don't get any sickness at all and still go on to have successful pregnancies. Sore boobs round the sides has been my most common symptom before 7 weeks.

Hello melon and harry!

cavamonster · 28/07/2015 22:34

metal my little bump used to have a couple of fairly active days then one quiet, I posted on here at the time (maybe around 26 weeks) and a few girls further on reassured me it was my normal so if that was my pattern then that's what I should look out for. You are right though movement worry replaces scanxiety and precedes worry about the birth of the baby!

CarrotPuff · 29/07/2015 09:41

Morning everyone, sorry I was a bit absent lately.

Congrats little and broody on your little bundles! Flowers

RIP little Lucas, how sad Sad

Holding hand for anyone who's struggling or going through worrying times...

Not much to report, had my GP appt last week, so waiting for my booking in letter any day now. 7+6 today, I'm already past the date I started spotting last time, but not over mc date yet (8+1), so feeling a bit anxious... I do feel more positive about this pregnancy, fx all goes well!

Just looked at stats, my DS should have been 19 months, not 9 Grin but he's 20 now, so maybe we should take off the age altogether, and just leave 1 DS... but that's not urgent, just next time there's an update, thanks!

Tftpoo · 29/07/2015 10:17

Thank you so much everyone, I know you are all right! I really need to work on controlling my runaway negative thoughts - I've always had a tendency to think like this but since the mc it's got so much worse.

I really do appreciate your support here, my DH is amazing but I kind of sense his virtual eye roll and 'oh not this again' when I start to go on about anything pregnancy related.

meganlilly89 · 29/07/2015 10:21

Can I join. Hope I'm in the right place. Had a mc the beginning of May. I have just found out I'm pregnant again very early days I'm 4+4. Very nervous.

MsGlitterJunkie · 29/07/2015 11:19

Hello everyone, can I join you please?
I have had 2 MCs, one in Nov last year and one in Feb this year - just got my BFP yesterday morning.
95% elated, 5% terrified!! Absolutely determined to keep my mind positive and enjoy this pregnancy.....only 4 + 1 so very very very early days.......

My stats: MsGlitterJunkie, 30, no DC, MC1 Nov 2014 at 8 weeks MC2 Feb 2015 at 5 weeks, EDD 7 April 2016

Marchgirl · 29/07/2015 11:43

Welcome megan and glitter and congratulations. Hope your stay is long and uneventful Smile

melonface · 29/07/2015 12:08

Hello to Megan and glitter from one newbie to another!

Is anyone else suffering with UTIs? I had one at 10 weeks and now I think it's back 5 weeks later. Off to GP I go...

cloudjumper · 29/07/2015 13:37

tft I never had any other pg symptoms that sickness and tiredness, both of which only started at 8 weeks with this pg. I know a lot of people who never had any symptoms at all lucky sods

zeux Meant to comment on your scary work situation yesterday, but MN kept eating my posts!
I think you should qualify for MA, if not SMP, since you were already pg when you were put at risk of redundancy... I was made redundant shortly before I fell pg with DS and got MA. It was a scary time, and it got even scarier when DH got made redundant shortly after DS was born! Please try not to worry too much! Have they given you any timelines yet? Do you know if you will get any payments at all? I managed to find a temporary job while pg, it is possible.
Things do work out one way or another, I found - not that this is any consolation at the time it is actually happening, I hasten to add! When I found out that I was at risk, DH and I made the conscious decision not to stop ttc, as there really never is a right time for a baby anyway, so why wait. And I have never regretted it.

melon I get frequent UTIs, they are so unpleasant. Hope the GP gave you some antibiotics and that you feel better soon!

Tftpoo · 29/07/2015 14:56

Hi megan. I remember you from the ttc after mc thread. So pleased you're here. Hi to glitter too. Hope both your pregnancies are uneventful.

meganlilly89 · 29/07/2015 17:00

Tft my stay wasn't along as i thought it would have been on the ttc page. Fingers crossed i will be for a while.

My dh thinks last time with the mc I knew deep down something wasn't right because I didn't do certain things ie fill in my maternity exemption form. Today I have had my doctors appointment and filled in my form. Seems like such a small thing but to me its massive.

Positive thinking xx

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 29/07/2015 17:42

Well I've had a couple of overwhelming days! (Being dramatic probably) we went and bought the cot yesterday and today spent three hours choosing and buying a pushchair. We went with Egg in the end (it's lovely). I'm pleased we've started getting the ball rolling, but now I'm worried about having jinxed things Confused
