Woop hoo bristol fab news!!

guy I think I would panic if they couldn't find the HB so in a way it makes sense. Scans every 4 weeks sounds good though. I agree, movement with twins will be interesting!

Amyyy27 · 03/06/2015 15:03

Devastated. She made it very clear from the moment I walked in she wouldn't try. Or in fact do anything at all. Told me my blood tests came back fine (already knew) and sent me on my way. I asked her about my hips clicking and painful.. All symptoms of SPD I have and she said probably not pregnancy related.. book GP appointment. I was obviously upset about HB and all she could say was 'we just don't do it now til your next appointment in 8 weeks. You have your scan soon anyway.' So now I've took the huff with the world sobbing away in our bathroom :( will deffo order a doppler now!!

chasingtherainbow · 03/06/2015 15:45

Oh amy :-( without the hb the app was really uneventful and pointless. Am sorry you didn't get to hear hb. .apparently the machines can play the hb out loud when you get scanned. I wonder if you get to hear it in private scans?

Amyyy27 · 03/06/2015 16:05

Oh I'm not sure, they might do at private scan. I know there's not long to go but I'm worried sick that something could be wrong. Add a bad day at work into the equation plus hormones, plus the dog being cut (injured) at the groomers and I'm just a stroppy pregnant cow. First world problems and all that! Will order myself an angelsounds to cheer me up now!

Gr33dyeggs · 03/06/2015 16:13

Great news bristolian!

Sorry you didn't get the heartbeat either amyyy Perhaps my mw is a maverick!

I've worked hard on snacking today and not felt too bad so think I just need to keep my sugar levels up. Daily 3 pm choccie bar it is!

gennibugs · 03/06/2015 16:19

Oh amyyy. I'm really sorry Sad. seems to be no hard and fast rule. Have you got long until your private scan? Hope your poor dog is ok too.

greedy sounds like snacking is the way forward then! I've eaten what feels like a lot today but I'm very tired so relying on food to keep me going til I finish at 7!

Amyyy27 · 03/06/2015 16:47

Thank you ladies. I know I'm overreacting and have calmed down a little! And ordered an angelsounds! There were the 2 of them again so I would imagine they are following strict procedure. Would have maybe had a little luck if I got one on her own! I'm still annoyed about the SPD but will book a GP appointment and go from there.

She has a little chunk missing from the inside flap but she doesn't seem to mind at all... I am mortified! Luckily I know she can be fidgety so I didn't take it out on the groomer at all, accidents happen! Poor thing.

Amyyy27 · 04/06/2015 07:57

17+1. So much for my midwife saying I wouldn't have gained anything to cause pressure on my hips!

chasingtherainbow · 04/06/2015 08:34

You are gonna be all bump Amy, how gorgeous!

Tootle10 · 04/06/2015 08:36

Lovely bump amyy! Sorry your appt was disappointing yesterday, hopefully the GP will be more helpful. Aww, your poor dog Sad

Glad the scan went well bristol and yay for the regular scans guy!

Don't think we'll be buying anything until after 20 week scan, although as it's our first there's plenty we need! Already dreaming of my maternity leave... Due around 10 January, so will probably use 3 days holiday to take from Christmas eve to New Years day off and then start mat leave on 2 Jan. I'm hoping to take the full 12 months off, luckily DH's salary can cover all our outgoings so we should be ok financially.

chasingtherainbow · 04/06/2015 09:20

I made a yummy mango raspberry and chai smoothie for breaky.

Then I took dd to school and came back to gobble a crunchie haha!

Balanced diet!

Off to bed! Pooped. Have also just agreed to extend my nightshift contract. But from the 1st wk of august I will be completely finished.

Amyyy27 · 04/06/2015 09:43

Thanks ladies :) I feel so big already I dread to think how I will even manage to get out of bed further down the line! Its all front as well which is fuelling the 'boy' guesses from everyone!

Ooh Chasing that sounds lovely! I went and bought a blueberry, mango and banana smoothie this morning, trying to be all healthy and what not while I'm feeling good Grin And wow! August will be here before you know it.

We're in the single figures countdown to private scan now. Just hope this week and next fly over... I was considering bringing it forward to this Saturday if they had space but my OH keeps talking me out of it! Anyway, my Doppler is due to come either tomorrow or Saturday so hopefully that will give me some reassurance :)

Just some info about round ligament pain...

I had a bit of a panic this afternoon after getting very sharp stabby pains across my bump that rippled (for want of a better word) from my belly button down to my groin in a line across my tummy. They were happening every 2-3 minutes for half an hour. When I finally got through to midwife she told me this is common to start happening around 17 weeks... something to do with the placenta I can't quite remember what!... and if there was no bleeding and the pain wasn't excruciating (in her words not being able to speak or move) then its pretty much round ligament pain which can feel like many things, sharp stabby pains/cramping. Told me not to panic and to take some pain relief and try a hot bath.

This could be common knowledge but as a first timer (who is anxious anyway) I had no idea what the hell was happening! So just in case anyone else has something similar hopefully this will save you some worry x

chasingtherainbow · 04/06/2015 15:25

Spent the afternoon at my beauticians and then the chiropractors. . Feeling much better now.

Then I promptly went to tescos and bought baby clothes. ahhhhhh it was such a buzz.

onefootinthebed · 04/06/2015 16:07

Arh chasing I was just going to buy some in sainsbury's but resisted. As I didn't do anything last night I planned. My dh came home and said shall we go out for tea I said yes, that was it in bed for 9.30.

Everything is so cute isn't it. Randomly I have seen about 6 babies today.

It's the edd of my second miscarriage today, I actully feel better than my last dd as I have my little bean inside and a paid day of work. My dh thinks it's bizzarre that even though we had 3 miscarriage's last year all due this year we will still have a baby before 2016 God willing.

Bristolian1 · 04/06/2015 16:59

Amy how's your poor doggy today? I've cut a bit off my dog's ear flap before when grooming her, which I was mortified about! At least it wasn't you that did the chop!!

Chasing I got a haircut last night and have felt better since! So nice to spend some time on myself! What are you guys views on hair dye?

Onefoot that's a really positive way to look at things. Hope you are ok.

chasingtherainbow · 04/06/2015 17:15

I do my own (i qualified as a hairdresser years back so can get to the wholesalers) have never stopped during pregnancy. Go for it!

Ofc I've now been worrying that somthing will go wrong and I'll have to change it all back!

onefootinthebed · 04/06/2015 17:31

Thanks Bristol I really am i am just in my garden blowing bubbles with ds who is nearly 3 years old. I think last time I just stayed in bed maybe it's got something to do with the sun shine.

I have always still continued to colour my hair. I had mine done just a few weeks ago.

Amyyy27 · 04/06/2015 21:08

She's good thanks bristol! Her doggy friend caught it today and she had a bit of a yelp but she has stopped flapping her ears and scratching at it and it looks like it's healing ok. My hormonal state brings me to tears when I look at it, so you're right good job I didn't do it myself haha I would be a wreck!!

I could really do with my hair dyeing. I usually do my own but haven't dared when pregnant. I priced getting it done at hairdressers but they want to rip my eyeballs out so I haven't bothered!! My bathroom window is tiny so won't be well ventilated enough. I might wait til anomaly scan and if all well then do it myself in the kitchen and hope I don't make a mess!

onefootinthebed · 04/06/2015 21:55

Amyy when I used to do mine at home I always used to get someone else to do it for me, my dad was a whizz I was amazed when I found out he has been doing my mums for years. Especially as I always thought she went the hair dressers.

I get it done now at the hairdressers but only because I live miles away from my dad. After my last mc in December I decided to get my waist length hair cut to my shoulders and dye it dark brow,as I needed to change and I hate it. Now it's still on my shoulders but I have highlights thankgod.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/06/2015 07:57

Had a horrible miscarriage dream last night where I lost both babies.
Thinking about it, it didn't seem odd at the time but on my scan they weren't babies, they were baby horses.
Still. It was a very upsetting dream at the time.

chasingtherainbow · 05/06/2015 08:01

Guy Brew that sounds horrible. I hope you are ok. I keep regularly getting intrusive thoughts (i guess that's what you'd call them) where my mind starts playing out scenes where I lose the baby/ start bleeding etc. Usually just after I've bought somthing/spoken to someone about the pregnancy .. for example I keep thinking that I'm starting maternity leave so early but what happens if I never get my baby?

It's horrible. I just try to talk some sense into myself and ignore them but it's not nice.

Amyyy27 · 05/06/2015 09:14

Ah onefoot my dad used to do my mam's roots when they were together! I could ask him to help.

Guy hope you are ok, what a horrible dream to have x

chasing same here I am terrible for imagining bad situations! Some arsehole nearly crashed into me this morning driving in the middle of the road and the split second before he swerved I thought of the baby. Now I can't stop thinking 'what if..' and got myself all worked up!

Romeolovesjuliet · 05/06/2015 13:13

Hi all, haven't been on in a while as DD was taken inti hospital on Sunday and we didn't get discharged until Wednesday night.
Sounds like a horrible dream guy, our minds really do work overtime.
I have to dye my hair as am very very (prematurely) grey. Hairdressers is extortionate but I tried doing it myself on my last Mat leave and made such a hash of it I just have to suck the cost up now.
Had my early scan today and saw a tiny baby measuring 6 wks with a flickering heartbeat. I know things could still go wrong and am not taking anything for granted but am relieved that things are as they should be at the moment.

Amyyy27 · 05/06/2015 13:17

Romeo So pleased you had a great scan!! I hope your DD is well now Flowers
