Hi all! Back from holidays, not fully caught up with the posts from the last two weeks but wanted to check in and hope everyone is well.

I'm about 8 weeks tomorrow - still pretty much no symptoms, quite grateful really as could have really put a damper on the holiday. Eating out was tougher than expected (normally a rare steak girl) and did miss the wine a lot

Anyway, EPU tomorrow at 9am. Am hoping for a scan although as I got my appt by letter can't be sure. Can fully recommend a holiday to take the mind of scan worry but can feel myself entering panic mode already. Will let you all know how it goes tomorrow.

chasingtherainbow · 31/05/2015 17:14

Tootle hope you had a fab hols. Hope your scan is fab tomo xxx

Barbiedoll79 · 31/05/2015 17:24

Good luck tomorrow tootles
Glad you had a good time :-)

Amyyy27 · 31/05/2015 17:26

Good luck for tomorrow Tootle! Glad you had a lovely holiday :)

Amyyy27 · 31/05/2015 17:29

Oh I've had some weird baby dreams. A couple of premature dreams like chasing where baby has been full size? A one where I gave birth in the hospital car park on my own when OH ran in to get help and last night I gave birth in the car on the way to the hospital and OH was more mortified at the mess than the baby being born!

onefootinthebed · 31/05/2015 18:22

Tootle good luck for tomorrow.

Romeo do you think the back ache could be a water infection or do you maybe hold stress in your back ( my mum tenses her back rather than her shoulders) this is a stressful time for you. Hope it all stays good.

I have just been reading your dream story's . I imagine if they were translated they would all say birth anxiety. Although I have read a story about people giving birth in cars on the way to the hospital and at the hospital front door. I remember on the Way out the door with ds I said to dh were are you going he said to make sandwhichs and I shouted if you do I will be having this baby in the bleeding car. He left the sandwhichs.

chasingtherainbow · 31/05/2015 18:54

Ah shit. I have very. . Very stupidly just dragged dds trampoline across the garden and now I've hurt my back... and I've got low pains again. .freaking.out.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 31/05/2015 19:36

Chasing, you know it's normal. Everything is loosening and it is so much easier to injure yourself. A couple of times this weekend, I bent over and got a sharp pain on my hip or back. It's muscular- no more dragging trampolines!

chasingtherainbow · 31/05/2015 20:13

I don't know what possessed me. I've had a not feeling obviously pregnant day and just.. forgot.. and then I felt the twinge in my back and suddenly realised what a daft thing I'd done.
My logical brain says even if I'd done damage, I wouldn't start cramping within minutes anyway surely. .. but irrationally my mind instantly goes 'there'!

Gr33dyeggs · 31/05/2015 20:55

We must be getting to that stage - my groin was hurting today but I couldn't work out how I did it!
Good luck 2moro tootle!

Lifting something categorically won't do any damage to your baby. To you, maybe, but not to your baby. Honest.

chasingtherainbow · 01/06/2015 06:32

I was still lifting v heavy equipment in my last job at this stage with dd so that's made me feel better to remember that.

Thinking of those getting scanned today! 17 days till my next!

Bristolian1 · 01/06/2015 06:56

Good luck for your scan today tootle

Hope you are doing ok romeo

How are your aches and pains today chasing? Hope your poor back isn't too sore

Amyyy27 · 01/06/2015 07:47

Good luck today Tootle Flowers

chasing hope you're not too sore today! But agree with the others I think they tell you not to lift because of the relaxin making you more likely to pull a muscle etc, baby should be fine :) is that a private scan you're having or your anomaly one?

chasingtherainbow · 01/06/2015 09:05

I'm still sore low down still but this seems to be pretty consistent. I asked mw last week but she had no explanation to offer me.

It'll be our anomaly scan but early, I'm away from the 22nd and when I get back she said it was cutting it too fine (think she said the limit is 20+4 and I'd be 20+3 or somthing. So I'll be 18+5 for the '20 week' scan. I'm not sure when to book the private one. I was thinking about 24/6? X

Tootle10 · 01/06/2015 12:41

Hi all and thanks for the good luck wishes.

Went to the EPU this morning - turned out I was booked in for a reassurance scan so wasn't there very long. Scan only took a couple of minutes and showed a heartbeat and measuring 7w4d Smile bit behind where I thought I was but sonographer stressed it was just a rough measurement.

The nurse said I'd get a date for my dating scan sent out to me for about 5 weeks time. I asked whether it would be possible to go back to the EPU (last time I had mmc and measured 8 weeks but no hb so don't feel I'm out of the risky stage yet) and they agreed to see me again on 15 June. My EPU are so understanding.

Feeling happy and relieved! Back in work today though and had a rubbish night's sleep so looking forward to an early night tonight!

Amyyy27 · 01/06/2015 13:09

Ahh Chasing the 24th is when I have my anomaly scan :) So I'd say a good day!

Tootle That's fantastic news! & So pleased you have a great EPU :)

chasingtherainbow · 01/06/2015 13:17

Ah sorry I meant 24-26 weeks Grin probably won't book another after that as they get too big to see much. Though maybe a 4d one later on might be nice. I dunno. I don't always like the look of the 4d ones!?

Tootle that's really fantastic news xx

Amyyy27 · 01/06/2015 14:48

Haha sorry that's my baby brain kicking in! Grin My friend has hers when she will be 28 weeks, and apparently was told that's the best time/earliest for a 4D one to look good (According to the private place she is being scanned at). But I know what you mean about 4D. We will get to see in 4D at our gender scan and a little worried my OH will freak out haha, I am wholly expecting to see a little alien! For a normal scan I think around the 25 week mark would be nice before the baby gets too big like you say :)

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 01/06/2015 14:54

I find the 4d ones a bit odd too. The babies always look a bit.. lumpy.
I'm having scans every 4 weeks after 20 weeks to check growth. My 20 weeks is on 25th June. Still feels like bloody ages away.

Yey for the good scan tootle! Anyone else this week?

chasingtherainbow · 01/06/2015 14:56

YY.. lumpy!

gennibugs · 01/06/2015 15:30

Hello all. tootle great news on the scan! My 20 weeks is on 26 June, still feels like a way away, but we have a holiday in between which should help.

Barbiedoll79 · 01/06/2015 16:18

Fantastic news tootle
Our 20 weeks scan isn't intil 2nd july!!
We have a scan for the last time with epau on Saturday though it's crazy this week I feel very negative- sure it's cos of the scan as been feeling very positive until this week
We had a 4d scan with dd at 26 weeks and it was great I have to say I can completely understand the it's wierd looking thoughts but I can honestly say when that was my dd on the screen it was amazing and not odd looking at all! She looked like it when she came out too ev same nose etc it was just lovely :-)

Gr33dyeggs · 01/06/2015 16:23

My 20 week scan is a fortnight today. Still anxious but excited too. Nothing to keep me occupied til then but work :-(. Resisting using the angelsounds daily.... just.

tootle lovely news. Agree with how good your epu is!

Great news tootle! Glad you got your scan.

My dating scan is on Wednesday! I'm fluctuating between excited and terrified. When did you guys find out your Downs risk? Was it long after the scan?
