Good luck for your scan Bristol.

Amyy I have Ibs I have been diagnosed with it since I was 14,luckily I know the foods and things which trigger me to have a spell of it. I am not sure if you can take them when pregnant but charcoal tablets really really help me, I used to get them from a health food shop. I have a really boring bland diet know but it's worth not being uncomfortable.

Sailor your poor friend, I agree with the others not telling her face to face but I would call her rather than text. I hated getting texts like that I would rather be told .

I was driving back from the doctors yesterday and looked down and I looked about 6 months pregnant. I still havn't told work at this rate they will have guessed before I tell them.

I have the flu I feel like I have been ran over, I don't know how I drove to the doctors and I thought I had more than flu.i think I have probably never had it before properly. Did you know you can't have lemsip or decongestant when pregnant, just paracetamol. The boots version of lemsip you can have but it taste awful. I woke up up this morning feeling abit better so hopefully the im over the worst.

Hi there - I hope you don't mind me popping in. I'm 10-11 weeks pregnant after 4 miscarriages. I've had a few scares this time around and a number of scans that all looked fine.

I feel stupid writing this, but I had a nightmare last night that I was having a miscarriage. I woke at 5am and didn't sleep properly after that, just couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm now in work and have back pain and so my dream is really playing on my mind.

Part of me wants to phone the EPU and ask for a scan (they said that given my history I could go in at any point) but at the same time I feel that it's a waste of time/resources as if a miscarriage is imminent, I'll find out soon enough. Even if I did go in, I'm not sure how long it would reassure me for.

I think I need a bit of a slap to pull myself together...

Bristolian1 · 27/05/2015 15:29

Just a quick update - scan went fine! Measuring 11+3 and wriggling around/waving! Lovely. Dating scan next week Grin Can't quite believe it....

Gr33dyeggs · 27/05/2015 16:17

Welcome itscurtains! I hope you have a boring 7 months now after your tough road here.

Bristol congratulations.

Curtains you should just do what you think is best to give you peace of mind.

Is anyone taking pregnecare ?

Romeolovesjuliet · 27/05/2015 16:34

Lovely news bristolian Smile
itscurtains it's completely natural to feel very anxious given your history. If you feel a scan would help then I don't think that's a waste of time and resources.

Barbiedoll79 · 27/05/2015 17:03

Aww bristolian so glad all went well was thinking if you today!
Curtains I agree with Romeo your wellbeing is more important ;-)

Bristolian1 · 27/05/2015 18:00

Thanks guys! Sorry for the brief update earlier - had to get back to work, but now finally finished! Looking forward to an early night since I've been up since 4am worrying!

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly onefoot hope you're on the bed now. I'm taking pregnacare, obviously am just a sucker for marketing!

Welcome curtains. I think you should do what you think is best/ feel like. Anxiety is no good for you so if you want a scan, don't be embarrassed, you are completely entitled to reassurance after what you've been through. I've had 3 so far and not even had dating scan yet! And congratulations! Flowers

Itscurtainsforyou · 27/05/2015 18:12

Thanks everyone. I've calmed down a little now but might give the EPU a call tmw

onefootinthebed · 27/05/2015 18:14

Bristol thanks I've been awake all day today, well to be honest I have had too as I had my ds.

Can I ask how your stools are on pregnecare. I too am s sucker for marketing I have noticed a really big change and I am wondering if it's the tablets.

gennibugs · 27/05/2015 18:19

yay bristolian so pleased for you! Great news Grin

curtains welcome. as the others have said, do whatever helps you to feel reassured. Early pregnancy is tough enough without the extra worry experience of MC brings.

Bristolian1 · 27/05/2015 19:07

My stools have been practically non existent onefoot apart from when I overdosed on prunes on Sunday! I thought it was the progesterone slowing down my gut transit time. What have you noticed?

Lilliana · 27/05/2015 19:19

I'm on pregnacare - another sucker Grin. I alternate between being. But constipated and being a bit umm loose! I put it down to pregnancy, didn't even think about the tablets.

Amyyy27 · 27/05/2015 19:30

bristol that's wonderful! So pleased to hear :)

curtains congrats and welcome!

I am barely ever. . Going to the loo... but I think that's because I haven't been able to eat much due to sickness.

16 weeks today... that sounds so far on! Strange I don't feel like I am out of early pregnancy yet Confused

Bristolian1 · 27/05/2015 19:33

In case you aren't already, if you do a repeating order of pregnacare on Amazon it makes it (slightly) cheaper

onefootinthebed · 27/05/2015 20:04

I ran out yesterday so had to buy them from asda.

I'm eating less as I have evening nausea I had it with ds, I just can't eat between 5-9pm but sometimes it all night. My stools are not stools are loose and dark and like every 3-4 days. I actully only thought about it after I mentioned my Ibs this morning and I know it's nothing to do with that as its under control. I can believe I paid £10 for one pack last night.

Gr33dyeggs · 27/05/2015 20:40

Not on pregnacare but have varying stools Blush I'm trying to up my fruit and veg to help!

Oh no I have just realised I have thrown away my book about my care it was with all that bounty rubbish and I just thought I'm not going to use any of it and put it in the recycling bin. Oh I'm such a dope .

Bristolian1 · 28/05/2015 13:29

Your yellow book? Oh no!

chasingtherainbow · 28/05/2015 15:48

Ooft. Lost the thread for a bit there sorry guys.

Bristol awesome scan news!! It's so lovely seeing them isn't it.

Am still on a high after hearing babies hb yesterday. I know I've a doppler up in the loft somewhere. It wasn't where I thought it would be though. Annoying!

Welcome to the newbies. curtains if your epu are giving you an open door policy use it hon. Seriously the anxiety is exhausting.. do what you have to,to get through. I am very sorry to hear you've suffered repeated losses and I've everything crossed this is your take home baby. Best of luck. Z

Amyyy27 · 28/05/2015 15:51

Oh I have a blue book for my notes! Is it your notes you have thrown away onefoot? I think all you can do is ring your midwife and let then know you will probably have to fill what you can in and maybe they will do the rest at next mw app? Baby brain is my excuse for anything like this! ;)

How is everyone doing? It's becoming quiet on here! I hope that's a good sign that everyone is feeling more relaxed and happy :)

We have our 16 (well 17) week appointment on Wednesday and I'm going to ask if she can find the heartbeat for us but will not get my hopes up. I really just want to know baby is ok in there. 2 weeks on Saturday til our private scan and it is now starting to drag again!

How are all your bumps coming along? Some people have made comments on mine now which I'm finding nice - I had hoped it wouldn't just look like I had been scoffing pies!

Amyyy27 · 28/05/2015 15:53

Oops onefoot that should have said they will probably give you a new one to full in what you can etc. Baby brain! Ha

chasingtherainbow · 28/05/2015 16:08

I'm having a totally moral dilemma here guys. (Of the first world problem kind)

DH definitely and absolutely does not want to know sex of babe. His family would also be gutted if they were told before.

I loved not knowing with dd last time but I am beginning to feel like I really need to know this time. Occasionally I swing to not knowing again thinking I can just wait.. but I actually don't think I can this time. I'm worried about bonding and I feel like this might help me connect with baby better.

Would it be utterly and completely and absolutely awful of me if I found out by myself- not telling a soul ofc. DH wouldn't know i know.. no one would know i know.. so I couldn't slip up because even if I did no one would know i have confirmation iykwim. But atleast I would know.

Amyyy27 · 28/05/2015 16:17

Oh chasing that's such a toughy.

On one hand... If you don't tell him and he finds out or you own up or what have you, he may be furious!

On the other hand... its always seems so unfair to me when couples don't find out because only one of them doesn't want to know.

Could you perhaps tell him you really want to know this time and are happy to go and find out on your own but won't spoil it for him? He may then change his mind anyway and come round to the idea if he hears your reasons.

chasingtherainbow · 28/05/2015 16:55

Amy I asked him at dinner again yesterday and he was very adamant.
Gah! ... I feel so crazy strong that it's a boy
... I actually feel like it's going to be a massive shock if it's a girl. . And though I genuinely will love either, the way I did first time- I didn't feel it'd be a huge shock last time... this time I worry that I'm so stupidly convinced it is a boy, despite my attempts to try and remain 'impartial' to it. I'm worried on top of all my anxiety it might be too much of a shock on the day? It's so early. And i know ..oh god I know we have bigger things to worry about. . I think I'm just very worried about how I'm going to cope after this baby. I think truthfully I'd accepted we were only having one and hadn't really thought much past that...
