Hey everyone. Hope you're all doing well. I'm 15 weeks today. Had my first bout of sickness yesterday. Hope it doesn't return today! This weekend I did some painting but think I overdid it. My back was aching afterwards and I was so tired! That could have caused the ms. No movements yet. Can't wait to feel the little flutters Smile

Hope you've all had a lovely bank hol weekend.

Gr33dyeggs · 25/05/2015 10:07

Ok here. Trying to cut back on my mn addiction!
Welcome romeo & under. Congrats! I recognise you romeo lovely news. We all understand your worries. I'm 17 weeks now and still worry! For me, the angelsounds doppler has been great for reassurance until I'm having definate movements.

Hi Romeo congratulations :-)

I was thinking the same guy but I guess no news is good news :-)

Had this horrible feeling yesterday- just don't know why no reason for it just felt something was wrong with the baby- 2 weeks and I'll see for myself

Amyyy27 · 25/05/2015 12:34

Hi romeo nice to see you over here, congrats! :)

onefoot hope you're cold buggers off and you're feeling better soon!

Amyyy27 · 25/05/2015 12:37

barbie I had that feeling yesterday, no reason to think it just couldn't shake it off. Not long for our scans though :)

wispy I hope the sickness keeps away!

Having a bad sickness day here so I'm off to bed for a quick nap!

wispywoo1 · 25/05/2015 12:59

greedy how often do you use your doppler? I can hear something but I'm not sure whether it's the hb or placenta. Sounds slower than what I was expecting. Definitely faster than my heartbeat but not as fast as some videos on YouTube. I sound like a nutter I know Blush

For those with other children, what should I expect at the 16 week appt?

Barbiedoll79 · 25/05/2015 13:29

Maybe it's just the 14th week feeling amyyy
Wispy I can't find it today at all so I (am hoping) sometimes it's just harder than others- hoe many weeks are you as at 12-14 weeks it was so much lower than I thought it would be
I found online it said out hv is under 100 usually round the 69s the placenta is around 100 and the baby is between 120-160 and previously when I've found it this has worked out :/)
Hth x

Barbiedoll79 · 25/05/2015 13:30

Amyyy hope you're feeling better soon!! X

Romeolovesjuliet · 25/05/2015 13:37

Thanks for the welcome everyone Smile

Bristolian1 · 25/05/2015 17:03

Congratulations and welcome romeo!

Quiet weekend here (daily afternoon naps - bliss!) and only 2 days till my next scan at EPU... I'm so terrified!

Gr33dyeggs · 25/05/2015 17:11

wispy Initially I was going to do it once a week, but I've popped it on for a minute or so for the past 2 days and will again today. Mainly because I've been playing and running around more with my 6 yo now I'm feeling a bit better and I'm worried about the shock of exercise on scooby Blush

Morning all. Where did the weekend go? Feeling so sick today, I wish it was just sod off now. Got my 16 week midwife/consultant appointment today so at least I can wfh and hopefully have a nap at lunchtime Grin

gennibugs · 26/05/2015 10:18

Back from my appointment, everything looking ok. I don't need to see the consultant anymore which is good. She also gave me a quick scan which was lovely and reassuring to see him or her kicking it's legs about Smile

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 10:55

genni I have commented on the other thread but still, so lovely to hear! Glad you don't need the consultant anymore. Do you mind me asking what you were seeing them for? I have my first consultant app in a couple of weeks to talk about an illness I have, but its diet controlled so really I don't know what they can do for me other than answer a few questions I have!

Chasing I hope you're ok love. Me and my shitty memory forgot about Friday sorry, so hope you managed to get through it ok! My EDD today and I am feeling down in the dumps but work is keeping me busy enough to not get too upset. I would still rather be at home though!

gennibugs · 26/05/2015 11:44

Oh amyy Thanks for today. Hope you get through today ok. I shall be thinking of you. I don't mind you asking! It was because I am on thyroid meds. But I'm on a v low dose, so she's happy for me to just see the midwife in future. They'll probably just want to see you, chat through things with you I'd imagine if it's not something that will affect your pregnancy or labour too much and discuss any meds etc. it was really just like a normal midwife appointment except I got the little scan thrown in as a treat Grin

Chasing Thanks for you too, hope you are ok.

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 12:57

Ah thanks genni :) Aww bet that was a lovely surprise!

Romeolovesjuliet · 26/05/2015 13:13

Flowers Amyyy, hope you get through today ok.
Booked an early scan this morning for 28th June when I will hopefully be just over 9 weeks. We go away at 8 weeks and really I wanted one before we went but decided to wait as last time baby stopped growing around 8+3 and also if it was bad news it would be awful then going on hols and not being able to do anything about it. Feels ages away though.

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 13:28

Thanks Romeo x I think its a good idea to wait until after the holiday too for the same reasons. Hopefully it doesn't drag too much for you. I feel like May has flown over so hopefully June does too!

Bristolian1 · 26/05/2015 15:02

Amyyy hope today is going ok. EDDs are so hard, I think you're really brave to go into work. How's the sickness today?

That's very sensible (and restrained) Romeo, probably a really good idea, and I'm sure with a holiday in there time will fly!

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 15:17

Thank you Bristolian I would have been a wuss and stayed off if I had a choice lol but actually I've been so busy everyone was right, it has helped. The sickness was bad this morning but has eased off over the day thankfully!

Well 15+6 here and I am sooo bloated, is anyone else? I feel like someone has pumped me full of air and its an uncomfortable effort to stand up and sit down! I look ridiculous at such an early stage but can't help it!

gennibugs · 26/05/2015 16:17

Sounds like a good idea romeo!

Amy I am also so so bloated. I actually posted on here moaning last week. I look ridiculous and it's pretty painful. I ended up having to go to the gp who said it was likely my ibs flaring up. When I went shopping at the weekend, all the sales girls at the make up counters were giving me freebies saying I needed to pamper myself etc. I clearly looked much further along than I am! I was too embarrassed to admit I was only 15 weeks or so Shock

Bristolian1 · 26/05/2015 19:32

I'm super bloated too, look WAY further along than I'm meant to be, given that I'm only 10+4. My trousers are too tight! I'm so embarrassed to be so much bigger when I'm not even out of the first tri yet.

Also got major scanxiety for tomorrow, absolutely convinced that something has gone wrong! Even my symptoms are less. Argh I hate this panic!

GirlSailor · 26/05/2015 20:17

Hi everyone! I've been keeping away as was worrying quite a bit. Had my 12 weeks scan and all looks fine. I need to catch up with everything that's been going on but I just thought you all might have some good advice.

A friend of mine had ovarian cancer a bit ago and had an ovary removed. A few months ago she mentioned that her and her husband were thinking of trying for a baby and she was concerned about having only half the chance now. Now I've had a positive scan we're starting to tell people. I don't know if they have actually started trying yet - they're only in their mid 20s, but I don't want to put her on the spot if she will have a difficult time hearing the news. If she had told me she was pregnant just after I'd had the m/c then I would have course been super happy for her, but I might have also felt a bit sorry for myself at the same time so I don't want to put her in an awkward position. The only thing is that she's a very strong person and I think she would be offended if it seems like I'm acting like she needs to be told in a special way so I'm not quite sure how to approach it. I can totally see how if someone had made it obvious that it might be a difficult thing for me to hear then I would have felt under pressure as the focus would have been on me a bit more and I would have wanted it to be back on the actual news, not my feelings about it.

Any advice would be appreciated if you have any thoughts from either side of a similar situation.

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 20:40

I too look way further on than I am!! Could be my IBS too genni did he say when it was likely to go down? I'm so uncomfortable!

bristol good luck for tomorrow will be thinking of you x

girl i would suggest a text along the lines of "we have some very exciting news we want you both to know we are expecting a baby!" With a few added details of due date/ any questions about anything interesting going on in their lives/ ask for a catch up. I think that gives her the chance to be upset but not have to show it. I know that's what I would prefer.

Barbiedoll79 · 26/05/2015 20:54

Amyyy sorry just checked in glad today went as well as it could have
And re bloat I completely see where you are coming from

Good luck for tomorrow bristolian

Sailor I agree with amyyy a text would mean she could deal with any emotions privately and then she won't feel excluded either x
