Hi ladies, I am from the early pregnancy after mc thread and have been stalking watching when I can. I just wanted to say we do know you are all here!! However, we are in the very early days and are still wary about our pregnancies and none of us felt ready just yet to go on what I would call 'a real pregnancy thread' We have all agreed when we have a better feeling we would move over to this thread so hopefully you will see us all on here soon... but right now we are in a very difficult place (I'm sure you have all been there) where its hard to trust that things are going to go well. So hop to speak to you ladies soon-ish! take care! x

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 12:36

Sorry to interrupt ladies, just scared myself.
I fell up the first few stairs at home. Tripped over my trousers and caught myself with my arm and I think my hip.
Seem to be ok but had some cramps after.
Possibly as I tensed?
Hope little one is ok.

treacle probably just your body tensing up. if there are no other signs of anything I wouldn't worry.

I get weird pains all the time if I move to fast I just keep thinking they must be normal (I hope).

Hope you are ok and didn't hurt yourself.

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 12:44

Thank you. No I think i did just jar my body. Like you say I get pains if I move too quickly too.
I'll just hope if theres no bleeding it'll be ok.

Thank you Tori, I'm 12+4 today.
Think it just really shocked me :(

Treacle I am sure the bean is fine, it is still mostly protected by your pelvis at the min and is well tucked in. However if you are worried then just call your MW or EPAU or whoever and say that you have had a fall and are worried.

I fell up the stairs in the early weeks. I was carrying a glass of caff free diet coke (the last of a bottle) and I threw it in my face as I fell. My bf found me in a very sorry state and I wasn't sure why I was sobbing, was it the fear or my sore knee, or was it the fact that the last of my caff free diet coke was now down my top, in my hair and soaking into the carpet.

I now have tailbone pain the past few days, mostly when I first get up and sit down. When I am sitting down or standing up it is fine

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 13:02

Thanks happy, i don't have a number for my midwife and the epu don't accept you unless you're referred :(

I'm sure I'm over reacting. Just kicking myself for not being more careful.

Treacle you should be absolutely fine, bean is tucked away safely. I'd strongly recommend getting at your next appointment the midwife helpline - I've called once or twice with seemingly silly queries (chicken pox exposure etc and they are so helpful) I think most units have them.

gingerbreadmam · 12/03/2015 14:28

glad you are ok treacle

if you ring your gp they should be able to give you the community midwives number.

little what was said about chicken pox? i was around my sil when she had pain in her eye, a couple of days later she was diagnosed with optical shingles. i googled but couldnt really find anything.

northdownmummy · 12/03/2015 14:35

Nausea has kicked in and is ramping up, I seem to need to eat about every 2 hours to keep it at bay.

Comforting for now but I expect another 6 weeks at least so just need to keep reminding myself of how much worse I felt with no symptoms

gingerbreadmam · 12/03/2015 14:47

northdown im the same i feel like i have to graze almost constantly to keep nausea at bay somedays, today is one of those days!

nightmare as i really want to get my bmi down a bit Sad

glad the symptoms are proving reassuring tho!

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 15:11

Thank you ladies x
Think I'm ok. My sister came over and I burst into tears at her :p
Think it was shock more than anything.

Oh treacle, sorry to hear about your trip up the stairsHmm hope you're ok. I'm sure bean is doing fine, it's well cushioned in there xx

Sick of chicken pox already. Dd is all fidgety and restless. And there's more spots every time I bloody look!!

longestlurkerever · 12/03/2015 16:25

Thanks Amyyyy - hope to see you and the others over here soon.

treacle - I am sure you're fine. I fell over on ice in my pregnancy with dd at least once and was bumped by a car this time. You're too early for maternity triage but your epu will probably see you if you're really worried.

On chicken pox, I think the advice is normally not to worry too much if you have had it before as you should be immune, but if you haven't you need to have a vaccine if you come into contact with it. A friend of mine did actually catch chicken pox for the 2nd time while pregnant (her immune system must have been suppressed) but her baby was fine. Apparently the risks are in reality quite low.

You can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles but it's unlikely unless they're your partner or you're caring closely for them.

Mslad · 12/03/2015 16:32

treacle you must have got such a shock. If it helps, I know of so many people who had falls in pregnancy and all was fine. I think baby is very protected. But as someone who freaks out over EVERYTHING I understand how you feel.

happy i feel very guilty but the image of you throwing your coke over your face made me smile! On a serious note, hope you're ok

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 16:46

Thank you all, ive just had a little sleep and now I feel a bit better. Just achey.
My scans next Wednesday so going to try and wait til then. I'd only be making a fuss if I went to see anyone.

(Although it definitely has crossed my mind)

gingerbreadmam · 12/03/2015 16:59

thanks longest i was only with her an hour tops and have had chicken pox before plus was over a week ago now so sure am totally fine. thanks for the advice Thanks

glad youre feeling a bit better treacle

Littlelady33 · 12/03/2015 17:09

Ginger there's nothing to worry about with chicken pox . Midwife explained that there's the smallest chance that I might not have enough antibodies and could catch it again but really very very rare. Basically if you've had it, you're immune and that's about it.

gingerbreadmam · 12/03/2015 17:31

thanks little. i wasnt really worried just called round mils lastnite and they said oh sil is here i dont know what u want to do haha.

worriedmum100 · 12/03/2015 17:32

That must have been scary treacle. I'm sure everything is fine. I really hope I don't make you fret by saying this next sentence but having ummed and ahhed for ages I've decided to. I am rhesus negative and was told by my midwife that if after 12 weeks I have any falls where I bump my tummy or anything like that I should get an anti D injection. I know you've not had your scan yet but I think you're over 12 weeks. I'm not sure whether you actually bumped your tummy area or not though or even of you're rh negative . I really hope I haven't made you worry even more x

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 17:37

I'm 12+4 worried, didn't bump my stomach just jarred it so hoping it'll be ok?
Don't know if im rhesus negative either as haven't had my bloods done yet :p

OP posts:
broodylicious · 12/03/2015 19:23

Excellent point worried, that's what I should've said earlier as I'm a fellow rhesus neg! treacle, didn't you have bloods done at your booking appt? Your doc should be able to tell you your blood type. I'd defo check to be safe.

Treaclepie19 · 12/03/2015 19:31

Nope, they'll do my bloods when I go to my dating scan which isn't til next week.
It should be ok if I didn't hit my stomach though shouldn't it?

OP posts:
Boozle80 · 12/03/2015 20:09

I'm sure you'll be fine Treacle, although as a complete panicker I cqn understand you're concern - think it's more scary for you than damaging to the bean. They are so well protected in there and completely oblivious to our hourly panics! (Or in my case, minutely)
