Yay treacle! Thanks for the advice re: weight, I haven't gained that much (I only weigh myself on a Monday) I think it is more that I was fat before. I am doing yoga and weights and some walking but that sometimes causes my hip to hurt. I just feel like I have a gut on me that I am wandering around showing off rather than a baby bump. I keep rubbing it in public as if to say 'it's ok... I am pregnant'. Feeling flutters fairly regularly now but it still feels very abstract, I don't actually feel like there is a baby in there

14 sleeps til 20 week scan... Maybe then I will relax???

Hope everyone is doing ok

Littlelady33 · 08/03/2015 09:36

Happy do you live in London? Those Baby on Board badges we have to wear in order to not get elbowed at rush hour (and on rare occasions to get a seat) really help with that whole 'baby bump not fat' thing - I never take mine off! Seriously though sounds as if you're doing sensible amounts of exercise and that's the important thing. Full on scanxiety ahead of my 20wks on Tuesday it cannot come soon enough

No I live in North Suffolk! So I don't go to London often (we don't like to leave the county in these parts lol!) good luck for your scan, I hope everything goes well. Are you hoping to find out whether it is a boy or girl? To be honest as long as I don't hear the worst.... Then I will be happy. My bf wants to find out the sex though

Bogal · 08/03/2015 11:54

Happy 12 weeks Treacle!!!

Haha happygojoyour post made me chuckle - I'm nearly 16 weeks and over the w/end all the fat in my body seems to have gravitated to my belly - I'm pretty sure it's not baby because it's soft and goes away when I lie down. It's like a fat bump!

All the best for your scan, and you Littlelady33 - sending happy vibes Smile

Treaclepie19 · 08/03/2015 12:21

Thank you all :)

Good to know you'd lost the same as me sunbathing.
I feel rotten today.

I'm dying to find out the sex although we don't mind either way - just too curious not to!

CommanderShepard · 08/03/2015 16:18

High five treacle my date twin! 12 weeks!

Had plans to paint the skirting board in the spare room until I saw NHS don't advise it til after 13 weeks. So it will have to wait as like hell am I letting DH do it. Boooo.

Treaclepie19 · 08/03/2015 17:06

Yay commander!!! :)
How you feeling?

I'm having the same problem. Wanted to paint all the skirting boards and can't yet...

Hello, sorry I didn't post sooner! It's all been a bit of a whorl since yesterday morning!

I went into labour yesterday morning at 9am, after a sweep and acupuncture induction on Friday. My contractions were initially 8 minutes apart but within the hour they were 2 mins apart! We got over to the birthing suit and straight into the pool, which was wonderful, and my contractions slowed to 3 mins. I was in there for the rest of the labour, and had my waters broken just before 1pm, and baby Bertie (Bertrum) was born about three minutes later. He weighed 8lb 15.5oz and is amazingly long.

We were home by 7pm, and I'm still wobbly and knackered, but no stiches, which is a first! I have a course of heparin for the next week. Joy of joys.

So relieved to have him here, he is just perfect and actually alive and everything.

I keep hoping to hear from holly, but will dip in every now and then to see how everyone is. Good luck xxx

StickChildNumberTwo · 08/03/2015 20:43

Congratulations tanny, fab news. Hope you're enjoying lots of newborn snuggling.

Hurray for 12 weeks Treacle and Commander.

Today's discovery was that wearing red knickers is not only unhelpful for knicker-watch, but can also lead to tiny bits of red fluff getting caught on pubes and then transferred to loo roll on wiping, causing minor panic. That combined with a sudden absence of the random cramps and vague nausea I've had for the last week has made for a bit of a mental day.

HollyBen · 08/03/2015 20:58

Congratulations tanny. Sounds like you had a lovely birth x

I thought I'd posted earlier, but it seems to have disappeared. Baby boy Brodie arrived last night after a slightly traumatic labour. Hope around lunchtime today. The support I have has from all the lovely ladies on this thread has been invaluable. Good luck to all of you x

StickChildNumberTwo · 08/03/2015 21:04

Congratulations Holly, fab news and I hope the trauma of the birth fades as you spend time with your boy (but do get help if it doesn't).

FlorenceandZebedee · 08/03/2015 21:26

Congratulations Tanny and holly. So lovely to hear about the new babies and 2 boys-boys rock! Take care of yourselves and enjoy your beautiful babes xx

Holly congratulations, lovely name too! Sorry to hear it was a hard birth, it makes the whole thing that bit more tiring. You will all bounce back in a week or two. I still feel like I've been hit by a bus, it's exhausting!

Littlelady33 · 09/03/2015 08:01

Congrats Tanny and holly wonderful news! SmileX

MelB2014 · 09/03/2015 09:28

Massive congratulations Tanny and Holly so glad you both have beautiful healthy babies!

Hope the rest of you are all not going too mental either!

I had a private scan at exactly 9 weeks yesterday because I was driving myself mad. Everything was fine and little bean has grown 10 times bigger since my last scan at 6 weeks. Bean is now 24.1mm measuring 9w1d and was very wriggly.

I feel a bit more comforted now, just hope things continue to go OK.

Treaclepie19 · 09/03/2015 09:42

That's great mel :)
I'm glad it's reassured you.

I am 18 weeks today..... This just feels impossible I am not even sure why this feels like such a milestone to me. It is still 2 weeks til my 20 week. I think I just can't believe I have got this far.

If all is well the baby is measuring 14cm CRL, which just seems impossible especially as the wriggles I feel still kinda feel like wind. I mean how can something of that size be inside me and yet I have no tangible evidence except a slightly bigger belly (which still feels flabby and not bumpy)

I am a scientist yet it blows my mind how fast these beans grow, and how the human body can make this whole new person in such a short period of time.... maybe that is a bit deep for a monday lol!

Happy Monday Everyone and I hope you are all good xxxx

longestlurkerever · 09/03/2015 13:19

Yeay!! Congratulations holly and tanny on your beautiful boys.

Tori get well soon and take your doctor's advice on whether to be signed off.

We are 28 weeks! That is 3rd trimester in anyone's book, right? Still can't quite believe it.

gingerbreadmam · 09/03/2015 13:28

congrats holly and tanny hope you are loving newborn snuggles and getting well looked after.

hey to everyone else, havent posted in a while hope u r all well!

i am having a silly wobble today. im 8+2. in last pg when i had mmc i had horrendous backache through the night, i hadnt had it this time so was relieved in a way as it was so bad i felt like it had something to do with the mmc. anyway lastnight i had it, nowhere near as bad as last time and not for as long and it just threw me straight back to the mmc.

combined with my gp contacting me today saying urine sample is borderline (for infection i think) and i need to out another sample in. well last time with the backache they suspected and infection but there wasnt one.

i know its silly connecting all the dots but i am just associating it all with last time Sad
