....and they're much more liberal about drinking wine when pregnant in france Envy

heaven I wasn't advocating not dtd, I wish I was braver to do it! but talk of spotting and period style cramps afterwards meant I wouldn't enjoy it, but hope everyone else is going for it!

Thinking of you silver

HeavenKnowsImNotSoMiserable · 02/03/2015 15:24

thanks for the offer commander, I know it sounds a daft thing to wish for but it would feel like affirmation that everything is working as planned right now.

For now the obsessive knicker watching continues, have already been to the loo 5 times today Blush

Littlelady33 · 02/03/2015 15:27

Heaven I felt the same was desperate to feel sick then at 7 weeks the nightmare started and I went from a super healthy diet to bread and marmite, on a good day - (having not eaten bread in ten years!). Great that you've an early scan too that saved my sanity Smile

Treaclepie19 · 02/03/2015 15:29

I thought I was gonna be sick in the middle of the city centre today.
Forced a few chips down and it's settled.
I am pleased that I'm being sick though, feels like a good thing.
Got someone coming to look at our boiler now when all I want to do is sleep!
Plus I'm gonna have to go to the doctors tomorrow.
Constantly need a wee and when I go I find I don't. Think its pregnancy related but I'm going to get checked.
Also have the most horrendous hip pain today :/

Moan over :p

Sending laboury thoughts to silver :)

Heaven definitely agree with the spotting being normal after dtd. Not that ive been letting DH near me :p

Heaven - just to echo what others have said. I went to the hospital for spotting at about 17 weeks and they asked me if I'd had sex, as apparently that's a common cause. We hadn't as it happened and they never did find out why.

Sunbathing - My pregnancy book says 18% of women get gestational diabeties - so fairly common. I don't know if I have it, but I did have sugar in my wee at my last midwife appointment. I'm slim and although I do like the odd sweet treat, I really don't think I'm that bad. I think our bodies just do weird things in pregnancy.

Bean hasn't moved much today and I'm getting a bit worried. Is there anything I can do to get her going?

ReverseTheTrend · 02/03/2015 16:45

Saw midwife last week, and cried hysterically as for some reason I cannot face an internal scan. So for now we are going with an EDD of 24 Sep, even though I know it is more like 24 Oct.

Do any of you have any tips to overcome my terror?

thesmallbear · 02/03/2015 16:52

Sorry to hear that reverse. Could you maybe try hypnosis? Have you ever had a smear? The internal scan's not as bad as that, if that puts your mind at rest Flowers

happygojo · 02/03/2015 17:36

Hey reverse, I can echo that an internal scan isn't bad, a smear or internal exam is worse. The scan thing is really thin and they don't have to press hard. How far gone are you? Could they try for trans abdominal?

Phryn · 02/03/2015 18:09

Sorry for being so lame and not contributing recently. 26+2 and all is well here!

Huge welcome to the new names - the first trimester can be very scary after a loss, this thread has been a Godsend to many of us. Time is passing even if it feels like it's going so slowly. Sending sticky wishes to you all.

smallbear - sorry bean is being unpredictable. Before 28 weeks movements can be very irregular as bean is still small and could be happily kicking your back but you wouldn't feel it.

You can try and induce movements I think by drinking something cold or eating something sweet and then lying on your left side for a while. I'm pretty sure that's the advice I've read elsewhere! Hope you get a good movement soon to reassure you.

thesmallbear · 02/03/2015 19:03

Thanks Phryn. I had a cup of tea and that seemed to get her going for a while (or maybe it was just a coincidence). Anyway, I feel better now she's kicked me for a bit Smile

silverine · 02/03/2015 20:33

Thank you all for the lively wishes! Pleased to announce the arrival of baby Patrick today (bang on due date indeed!) weighing 3.78 kg. After 36 hr labour he arrived by forceps delivery. He's a little bruised but beautiful. DH and I still can't believe he's for real!!!
Will log in with some more details when home but FX tanny and Holly for timely arrivals and best wishes to everyone for healthy pregnancies. X

Congratulations silverine that's fab news. I had forceps delivery last time and I'm pleased to report that after recovering from feeling like I had been kicked in the foof by a horse there was no lasting damage to either me or DS!

Boozle80 · 02/03/2015 23:01

Woohoo Silver and welcome to the world Patrick! Wonderful news :)

ReverseTheTrend · 03/03/2015 05:14

Congrats Silver!

Thanks for the tips, i have had a couple before, but last time was during the MC so I think my fear comes from negative associations there

broodylicious · 03/03/2015 07:47
