Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

Midwife came out, am in early labour. Only 1cm dilated and can't go to hospital until 4cm. Long night ahead...

tannyLoo · 28/02/2015 03:04

Wow, congratulations dogs!

tannyLoo · 28/02/2015 03:08

Bigcat I hope you are able to stay calm and focused tonight. If you're still at home, a bath, a backrub and some paracetamol can help. Keep active and hydrated.

I look forward to reading about the birth in the morning!

hazel88 · 28/02/2015 04:41

Wow congratulations Dogsmom!! Well done you so glad to hear your LO is here!! Thanks Grin

Bigcat sending lots of positive thoughts your way x

Dogsmom huge congratulations! Well done, it sounds like it was long and hard work but fabulous result.

Big cat good luck. I'm thinking of you and wondering how many bite marks in the sofa now! You're so close though and it will speed up, sounds like you're doing amazingly.

My midwife said to me the other day when I said I was worried about a long labour at home with DS in the house "they don't call it labour for nothing". I could have hit her Hmm

I'm 39+4 today and due induction on Tuesday if no sign, had lots of signs last week but all gone quiet this week.

kitkatkaty87 · 28/02/2015 06:21

No induction for you then big cat!! Good timing baby! I'm getting ready to go in again for induction today. No sign of my baby! Congratulations dogs mum. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I'm not in for days trying to get things started please! X

tellmemore1982 · 28/02/2015 07:37

All the cook cats are in today Grin good luck kit kat! Even if it takes a little while to start (ds took 2 days) it's generally pretty pain free in early stages so just put your feet up and let us know how you're doing. All the best

tellmemore1982 · 28/02/2015 07:37

Cool cats...

MrsCorr · 28/02/2015 10:57

Congratulations to all the new mums & good luck to all those waiting on their bundles of joy!
Have been so busy the last few days so not been on here much. Fingers crossed we're now getting into a routine, my newborn slept for 7 hours in a row last night Grin he was eating constantly yesterday though so think it might have been a growth spurt! I'm feeling much more human now Smile

Zsazsabinks · 28/02/2015 11:28

Looks like we'll have another few babies today! Good luck Bigcat! This bit of labour can drag on a bit so try to get lots of rest and drink a lot. I'll be thinking of you!

xx

Zsazsabinks · 28/02/2015 11:58

And Well done and congratulations to Dogs! Flowers

Zsazsabinks · 28/02/2015 12:00

And KittyKat, good luck for the induction, can't wait to hear some baby news from you....see you on the other side! Flowers

(My brain is so fried from feeding and running about after three that I had to reference each of you, BigCat, Dogsmom and KittyKat, individually or I'd forget your screen names by the time I started the post! Silly baby brain!)

BigCatFace · 28/02/2015 16:37

In hospital. DH asleep and I'm my usual insomniac self but been able to rest thank God, had been up 48 hours! Labour isn't progressing much at all, only 3cm. They tried to pop my waters but wasn't working. Reassessing in a few hours, may need a drip or c section. But at the moment in no pain, baby is happy and I'm in good hands

Cherryblossom200 · 28/02/2015 16:38

Congrats to all the new mums! I'm completely besotted with my little one Smile the best feeling in the world, despite being exhausted Grin xx

Zsazsabinks · 28/02/2015 17:45

Don't worry BigCatFace! With my first it took me days to get to 4cm.....and you're already at 3cm! I then went from 4cm to 8cm in the space of an hour and had my baby in my arms two hours after that. Your body's doing it. Grin I'm sending you all of my very best opening and contracting vibes. Hope that you manage to get some decent rest before the big event. Thinking of you! x

tannyLoo · 28/02/2015 18:13

Bigcat, I'm pleased you're getting some rest. Conserve your energy whilst you can! Sending you dilating vibes...

tellmemore1982 · 28/02/2015 20:07

Congratulations cherry blossom!

Cherryblossom200 · 28/02/2015 20:11

Thank you! x

blankfornames · 28/02/2015 20:11

Aw congrats Cherry!

Might be more babies tonight! Exciting times!

blankfornames · 28/02/2015 20:13

Congrats also to Hazel on the birth of your DD. Delighted to hear induction was more positive than you had thought.

BigCatFace · 28/02/2015 21:05

I have an infection :( getting put on antibioti c drip then syntocin one to get him out quickly.

Grinningcat · 28/02/2015 23:23

So we are finally out of hospital and would like to announce the arrive of Peter Isaac born at 15.38 on Wednesday 25th Feb at 8lbs 6 ozs. I will post the more details of my birth story tomorrow, but basically After posting on here we went to hospital at 9.30 weds after I'd called the labour ward 3 times. When they examined me I was 8 cm dilated on just 2 lots of paracetamol and a couple baths! shock I gave birth naturally with little intervention and only gas and air, but lost a lot of blood. I have spent the last 3 nights in hospital and finally got given a transfusion last night. We were released today at 7pm and feeling a little shell shocked to be home. Feeling really sore and my iron levels are still low. Nipples are also really sore, but he now has a good latch. Had 5 hours sleep in the last 4 nights, but chuffed to bits to with him.

MrsCorr · 01/03/2015 12:02

Congratulations! Lovely name Smile

bambi07 · 01/03/2015 12:08

Congratulations to everyone with their newborn babies, I cant wait to be in your shoes.

Good luck Bigcat, I hope things are going smoothly now they are dealing with your infection. Keep thinking newborn cuddles. Flowers

Im having contractions again today, since 7:30, not too strong yet and about 8 minutes apart. I am thinking positivley that these are going to continue to active labour soon. On the negative side, I am going to miss Grandad's 90th birthday party but hopefully can take baby to see him soon. xx

tellmemore1982 · 01/03/2015 12:29

Congrats grinning cat (another cat!) well done and glad you're ok. Sounds like a long few days, great name!

Bambi I am with you, pains in pelvis and lower back since early morning now around 12mins but nothing serious, have been staying as active as poss all morning but going to have a rest now. Loads of pressure too, tightening as well. I never went into natural labour last time so hard to know what to expect! Am 39+5 today. Good luck and keep in touch
