Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

Bigcat I hope this is it for you!

Reading back through some of the comments re:upcoming inductions, please try and put any fears to the back of your mind, you honestly have nothing to worry about. I'm gutted that I let the end of my pregnancy be filled with stress and anxiety over the induction, it really was absolutely fine and I consider myself such a woose! Throughout the 2 day long regular contractions although they werent exactly a walk in the park they werent anywhere near as bad as I thought theyd be! Being wheeled out of theater with my girl in my arms I forgot about the entire labour, then today it all seems like a distant memory! I will never listen to the labour horror stories again, so please don't stress yourself over them, it's really not that bad and as with everything in life everyone is individual and experiences things differently! You'll manage far far better if you can try and relax and not tense yourself up Thanks

Thanks hazel. I'm awake and ready for my day of induction. Eek! Feeling nervous but more because of the unknown but knowing I will be in some sort of labour soon if that makes sense! Hope it was the start for you big cat. I had a fair few tightenings yesterday and some a bit uncomfortable so hoping that might help things along a bit.x

I think today might be the day for me too, I woke up 2.5 hours ago with what felt like a proper contraction and not bh, the second one was 5 minutes later and they're now 2-3 minutes apart and stronger.

I called the hospital because I didn't think it could all start so suddenly and close together and she said to wait until I can't talk through the pain, I'm worried though because the hospital is 40 minutes away with no traffic, she then said if I feel the urge to push to call an ambulance and they'll deliver her! That hasn't exactly relaxded me.

Good luck.to everyone else today.x

BigCatFace · 27/02/2015 08:54

Nothing came of last night. Been trying and failing to book my induction time today.

BigCatFace · 27/02/2015 08:56

And good luck Kitkaty!

bambi07 · 27/02/2015 10:27

Good luck Kitkaty, newborn cuddles on the horizon.

Good luck to you too Bigcat, keep ringing! Hopefully you will have baby with you very soon.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you Dogsmom, that no ambulance is needed and you get to hospital with plently of time. Flowers

I am going to sit here and sulk about my lack of labour signs, I could almost not be pregnant at the moment. We are definately going to miss Grandads 90th birthday party Sad.

I will keep reading Hazels post from yesterday to remind me it will all be worth it in the end and try to smile through the last days of this pregnancy! Positive thinking is definately in order today! x

kitkatkaty87 · 27/02/2015 11:01

Sent home and delayed until 2moro as delivery ward was too busy so they weren't allowed to start induction :(

bambi07 · 27/02/2015 12:01

I'm sorry kitikatkaty, that is not much fun for you! X

BigCatFace · 27/02/2015 13:28

No joy here either. They said they'd call me at midday after discharges to let me know but they haven't, and when I've tried it's rang once then hung up.

kitkatkaty87 · 27/02/2015 14:06

Thanks bambi! I tried to be fine about it and thought its another night that he might come naturally. Could feel the tears in my eyes when she said it though! We're not having much luck are we big cat! Hope you can get booked in for 2moro if not 2day.x

BigCatFace · 27/02/2015 15:07

Thanks kitkatkaty. Yep, they said too busy today so will try again tomorrow. He's going to be born in a whole different month!

bambi07 · 27/02/2015 16:37

I will keep my fingers crossed for natural labour for you both, sending labour inducing thoughts your way. Well done for coping so well, Im sure I wouldnt have coped as well as you both, Im grumpy enough most days as it is. No signs for me today, I will be pregnant forever! x

kitkatkaty87 · 27/02/2015 17:15

That's what I said big cat! I can't believe he is going to be born in march! Hope you get booked in nice and early 2moro. I'm actually more excited now than I was this time yesterday. Although I am fully expecting it to take 3 days and end up with a c section! Thanks bambi, be good if your thoughts work 2nite! X

monkeyfacegrace · 27/02/2015 17:28

I've just had a letter through the post. My consultant wants me to have 3 sweeps, on Sunday, Weds and Sat to see if it helps.

I'll be 36+6 on Sunday.

What's the chances of a sweep actually doing anything?

BigCatFace · 27/02/2015 19:01

Getting what I think are contractions about 7 minutes apart (but some less regular), lasting a minute or so each. But I had these last night and they stopped, though these are more painful. Does this sound promising?

monkeyfacegrace · 27/02/2015 19:18

Yes it does BigCat. well it could also mean nothing but let's think positive

Grin
kitkatkaty87 · 27/02/2015 19:29

Hope they continue and get closer.

bambi07 · 27/02/2015 19:45

Sounds promising to me bigcat, good luck. XxFlowers

tannyLoo · 27/02/2015 20:06

Sorry, I got so fed up about everything stopping I couldn't post for a couple of days. Lots of promising signs here, sounds like it could be a busy weekend!

bambi07 · 27/02/2015 21:39

Dont worry Tanny, I was exactly the same when everything stopped for me, I couldnt quite bring myself to post anything. It is difficult to think the arrival is imminent to then going back to feeling all normal again. I am trying to say to myself that she will be here soon even if it doesnt happen now or tomorrow, although I joke, I cant actually be pregnant forever!

There was a small part of me that felt dupped when she didnt arrive on my actual due date, which I know is daft. Im also trying to take my mind off beginning any kind of intervention just yet, as I have been saying for most of the pregnancy that I dont want any, not even a sweep. Then two days past my due date and Im already thinking Im crazy and should just do it.

Trying to chill out a bit, my big baby will be here soon enough!

tannyLoo · 27/02/2015 22:27

Thanks Bambi, it sometimes feels like it's never going to happen, doesn't it? I find myself idly wondering if babies can be reabsorbed not at all twisted .

I fought hard to get my consultant to agree not to induce me until I'm 41 weeks, as he wanted this baby out by 40 as I am bloody ancient, and now I keep asking myself why!

I saw a MW today who recommended frequent orgasms, however you can get them (!) to get contractions started. That's my weekend sorted then... Grin

BigCatFace · 27/02/2015 23:37

Getting pretty painful now. Been biting the sofa and saying fuck a lot!

Dogsmom · 27/02/2015 23:50

I was right about being in labour Grin
I came to hospital after getting worried how close the contractions were at 9 this morning and was 3cm, they literally started off at 5 mins apart and were painful and at 2 minutes within just over an hour.

All day they were coming at 6 every 10 minutes and she was eventually born at 6.55pm.

I had to have a ventouse in the end as I'd pushed for 2 hours and she still wasn't out plus her heart rate was dipping.

So glad it's over as it was pretty relentless even after an epidural because there was an area that didn't numb.

She's beautiful and so good, she's hardly cried, had 2 feeds and is snoozing happily in her crib beside me.

That's both my girls born after hardly any symptoms at 39+5!

Good luck to everyone else who will no doubt be on the other side of it soon having those wonderful newborn snuggles.x
