Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

Good luck Mrs corr! Glad it's happening for someone tonight even if it's not me :) jealous of your twinges bambi even if they don't progress! I've got nothing!x

tannyLoo · 22/02/2015 18:58

I second that Bambi! Very exciting to be living vicariously through you both...

monkeyfacegrace · 22/02/2015 19:42

Can I join? I'm warning you, before you allow me in, I'm a moaning, miserable cow.

I'm 35+4. But, I have previous prem labours, last one was 33+4.

I went into labour at 32+2 and hospital stopped it. I had steroids (fucking ouch or what), got diagnosed with GBS and had a positive fetal fibronectin test. I've also got polyhydramnios and am measuring 42 weeks. So why the actual bastarding fuck am I still pregnant?

I've tried sex, pogo stick Grin, walk my dog for hours a day, birth ball.

I'm seeing my consultant on Tues. I'm going to drop to my knees and beg for a pessary. I give birth very quickly and easily, so all I want is my cervix open enough to break my waters and I'll be away.

I bet they send me away and I go to 42 weeks.

I'm at the end of my tether.

bambi07 · 22/02/2015 21:27

Hi monkeyface the more the merrier and don't worry about being miserable or moany, we all suffer that at times.

My twinges have turned to constant lower back pain, very strong but not in waves. Stomach is tightening but not painfully. I'm going to have a bath to try and ease it a bit. Hoping this is going to lead somewhere but only cautiously optimistic! Hope others are making progress. X

hazel88 · 22/02/2015 21:38

Enjoy your bath Bambi! Hopefully you're heading in the right direction.

I've just top-to-toe exfoliated, shaved every corner (or flap of flesh should I say) of my mammoth-like body and then slathered it in lavender moisturiser...feeling great now Grin

Welcome Monkey! This is the place to have a bloody good moan when you need it, let it all out! I hope you don't have to wait much longer.

Up at stupid o clock with niggly pains in my back, hips and high across my belly. Still not bad enough to be conclusive so not sure where I stand on the baby front. Come on baby! X

hazel88 · 23/02/2015 05:08

Oh Bambi that sounds so promising, where is this baby?!

I'm fed up this morning, felt like I haven't had a wink of sleep due to heartburn and thinking about tomorrow . Am now sat downstairs Sad I know I need to rest before the big day tomorrow but I can't help but be so anxious which is stopping me from being able to relax or sleep.

OP posts:
tannyLoo · 23/02/2015 06:02

Bambi, that does sound promising! I had a couple of nights of niggles before getting going properly last time. Hope you're able to rest too, so you have some energy for the next bit... Keep us posted!

Hazel, I hope you're fast asleep now. It is understandable to be anxious /excited, but I really hope you are also able to rest ready for the next bit. Hugs.

hazel88 · 23/02/2015 06:14

Thanks Tanny, not able to get back to sleep but am back to bed with a cuppa Grin

MrsCorr and Bambi, very excited for you both!! Clear outs and constant lower back pain is how it all started off for me! Think, very soon hopefully, you'll have those wriggle monsters in your arms. Think every wave of contraction or pain is one closer to your baby.

For the rest of you, I know the wait is hard, enjoy those kicks and squirms. Feels very odd once baba is out!

Well..all going well here. Bobby is a beauty! I woke with constant cramps and back ache and clear outs at 1.30 on Saturday morning. At 10 I started to leak water but by no means were the pains all consuming. They stopped for ages in the middle. Got to hospital car park at 12 and felt a gush. Discovered I had made it to 3cms! I was walking on clouds! The hours drive to the hospital brought on the pains to every 5 minutes and most were bareable. Was sent straight to labour ward and as it was quiet that day was offered a hot bath. I listened to music in the bath for over an hour, I had gas and air at this point till the end. Pains were around every 5 minutes. When I got out I discovered I had made it to 8cms by just thinking positive thoughts..like 'open' and 'relax'. Sounds airy fairy, but it worked. I transitioned between leaning over the back of the bed and standing for about 2 hours. This was tough. Thought as up to then had happened quickly, rest would too and for this reason I declined the epidural. I also knew Bobby was back to back so thought for him to turn, I need to know where Im pushing to. Anyway, I pushed for about 2 more hours till I had nothing left in me and then Bobby slowly made his entrance at 18.36. The placenta took a while to come out but I had my baby boy out so didnt care. I got a high temp and shook so DH did skin to skin. I needed 2 small stitches and walked (floated) to the ward! B'cos I ran a high temp during, we're both still in hospital and will be for another couple of days as both getting antibiotics. I dont mind though as Im having difficulty with breastfeeding so great to have the support and advice here.

So thats my story. Managed for everything on my birth plan to go my way which is phenomonal! Overall a hugely positive experience. Never invisiged doing it without an epidural but thrilled that I did. Bobby is a total pet and DH is incredible with him.

Id do it all over again tomorrow.
Keep keeping on ladies..you are all nearly there!!

tannyLoo · 23/02/2015 07:45

Blank that's just delicious to read. So pleased you are able to get that extra bf support too, it may well make all the difference. xxx

kitkatkaty87 · 23/02/2015 07:48

Aw that's a great story blank for names. Glad it all went well :)

bambi07 · 23/02/2015 08:25

That is a beautiful story Blank. I'm hoping for a homebirth so it is so reasuring when you hear it is possible to do it without an epidural! I love the name Bobby too. Congratulations Flowers.

Still more niggles but not ramped up any yet, got about 2 1/2 hours sleep because I felt like I could run a marathon last night, my legs felt so bizarre. I feel like I need to pee constantly and my poor OH has been awake with me all night and has to go to work now, self employed so not much room to manouvre there. It isnt a big job and isnt far away so hopefully he will be ok and able to rush back should he need to.

hazel88 · 23/02/2015 08:59

Wow that's amazing blank!! You did so well, what a lovely story. Huge congratulations, so glad you finally have your baby boy! Thanks

How is everyone holding up?
Any baby yet hazel Wink

I've suffered a drop in play session with two toddlers this morning. Urgh, am now so tired I want to sleep all afternoon. But I won't, dog needs walking so am going to attempt a good few miles.

Zsazsabinks · 23/02/2015 12:14

Happy birthday Bobby!! Congratulations and a huge WELL DONE to you too Blank. Flowers

Ring that buzzer every time he squeaks with hunger and the midwives will have you feeding away in no time. If breastfeeding is just too much don't let it get to you, bottles are perfectly fine too. Most important thing is that you enjoy baby. xx

hazel88 · 23/02/2015 12:30

Monkey how energetic of you! Hope it helps in budging baby!

Still no baby for me! Just had a second sweep, much more comfortable than the last, still only 1cm but under MW's advice I've come straight home and bouncing on the ball Grin

Hope someone has some news soon!

kitkatkaty87 · 23/02/2015 13:32

I can barely walk today?! Is this a good sign? He looks so low too like my belly is hanging over although has been like this for a good week but seems lower every day and stretch marks getting worse and worse. I can't even wear knickers properly anymore! The glamour!

BigCatFace · 23/02/2015 13:35

41 weeks today and had a sweep. Uncomfortable but okay. Bishops score only 2 :( My horrible hemmoroid has popped back out too so not in a good mood.

kitkatkaty87 · 23/02/2015 14:56

Also 41 weeks today and have hemmeroids big cat. Know exactly how you are feeling. Doesnt help having to poop about 4 times a day (sorry tmi!) Glad the sweep wasn't too bad. I hope it gets things going for you. I'm just walking bouncing and raspberry leaf teaing and it's doing sod all!

hazel88 · 23/02/2015 15:20

kitkat and bigcat do you have dates to be induced? I felt nothing after my sweep today, no cramps, no twinges, nothing. Haven't felt any BH in ages, no fanny daggers, nothing that resembles any sign that labour is imminent Confused bounced on the ball for ages yesterday, and have given it a good go today but absolutely nothing! I've tried so many ways of trying to encourage baby but she just won't budge. I'm 40+2 and I'm convinced that there really isn't any way of getting babies to budge, they just come when they're ready! Was hoping I could give myself a head start before being induced tomorrow but nothing seems to be working and I don't even feel pregnant anymore!

OP posts:
kitkatkaty87 · 23/02/2015 16:53

Yeah i am booked to be induced on Friday. They won't do it before +12 and I couldn't get a sweep until Wednesday at +10.
I agree, nothing seems to be making him budge and I have still had no signs and am walking and bouncing loads. He is so low my belly looks like it is flopped over the front if you get me. Like hanging over! Is that normal to be that low?!
Best of luck with your induction 2moro!xx

BigCatFace · 23/02/2015 16:58

Mine is booked for Thursday. Not too happy really.

hazel88 · 23/02/2015 19:14

Thanks kitkatSmile yeah I understand what you mean, surely that has to be a good sign!!

bigcat, what aren't you too happy about? The thought of induction or going that long?

OP posts:
BigCatFace · 23/02/2015 19:16

Thought of induction.
