Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

Blank, good luck!!! This sounds very promising! xx

MrsCorr · 21/02/2015 12:20

Hi Tanny Smile I had an early miscarriage before this pregnancy as well & it's making me feel a bit more nervous. Just want my baby to be here now!
Blank, sounds promising! I don't think it's normal to be jealous of someone else pain but I'm desperate for my contractions to start Confused hope it's not too bad for you & baby blank is here soon Smile
Still nothing much happening here, 41+1 now. Had a good cry last night when I realised that my baby will be here by next weekend & hopefully we'll be home from hospital. Can't believe I'm going to be someone's mummy within the next few days, doesn't feel real yet Smile

Zsazsabinks · 21/02/2015 13:06

Ahhh, MrsCorr, it's going to be amazing when your baby finally gets here, you must be getting so tired of being pregnant now. The end is in sight though!!

Here's a picture of Valentina just to keep you going, I thought she was never going to get here too, but lo and behold! Totally just outed myself and DH but nevermind. Hopefully it'll make you feel better, they do come in the end!!!!

How many more babies do we need from this thread? Tanny, Babiecakes....MrsCorr, Blanks. Lots of lovely bundles to come!

Absolutely beautiful zsazsa, I think she actually made me lactate a little! Sorry for tmi! Grin

MrsCorr · 21/02/2015 16:28

She is lovely zsazsa ?? it's the thought of the newborn cuddles that's keeping me going Smile

BigCatFace · 21/02/2015 18:38

Zsazsa, she's beautiful (as are you). Congratulations :)

40+5 here and nothing. Feeling tearful at thought of induction.

hazel88 · 21/02/2015 18:57

Bigcat why do you feel that way? I'm dreading being induced on Tuesday Sad really wish it would happen naturally beforehand. I'm worried I'm going to get to the doors and have a meltdown

Zsazsabinks · 21/02/2015 20:06

Ahhhhhh, do you know, the hospitals, every time I've gone in, have been fabulous and at the end of it all you get a beautiful baby. Newborn cuddles make anything worthwhile! x

BigCatFace · 21/02/2015 20:37

I'm dreading being induced too. The drip, being in hospital and also because I kind of feel like its taking away part of the experience, the waters breaking at home, the mad dash :(

hazel88 · 21/02/2015 20:46

Sad I've heard that induced labour is more painful, and the thought of being forced in to labour makes me sad, we really wanted our girl to arrive of her own accord when she's ready and not by the use of drugs. I'm also worried that as it's planned we'll get to the day and I'll suddenly panic and freak out as I know what's coming, rather than it happening spontaneously where I have no control over it.

However, I'm trying to keep reminding myself of how exciting it'll be that the day will finally be here that we meet our little lady which we've been waiting so long for. And the way I feel some days I couldn't bear the alternative of staying pregnant forever haha.

We are all within our rights to turn down induction, it isn't compulsory, just their recommendation. If you feel really strongly about it, talk to your midwife. There's a growing movement towards non induction, which can be worth investigating...

tannyLoo · 21/02/2015 21:22

This article was an interesting read, although I should say I intend to be induced if no dice by 41 weeks... midwifethinking.com/2010/09/16/induction-of-labour-balancing-risks/

Cherryblossom200 · 21/02/2015 23:17

Hazel I think with the drip type of induction they automatically offer you an epidural. But they try with a pessary first which isn't so bad x

hazel88 · 21/02/2015 23:21

I'm really hoping it doesn't come to a drip Sad but what will be will be I guess, just want to get on with it now! Hope you and baby are doing well Grin Thanks

Hazel when are you booked in?

Blank any news??

blankfornames · 22/02/2015 02:54

He's finally here and is adorable. Can't stop looking at him. Hardest thing I've ever done but the prize at the end is trululy rewarding! Love every 8lbs 7 ozs of him. Will update and catch up on all news properly tomorrow!

hazel88 · 22/02/2015 06:57

Tanny I'm booked in for Tuesday.

Blank that's amazing, so happy for you! Congratulations you did it!! Thanks Can't wait to hear all about it!

tannyLoo · 22/02/2015 08:29

Blank that's wonderful, can't wait for the pics! I'm a bit teary reading that... Of course we want all the details when you're ready too, but sounds like a shortish labour (I think this is your first?), which is great. Enjoy all those newborn cuddles, you've earned them!

Hazel how exciting! Not long now! How are you feeling? Crossing fingers you go into labour on your own before then...

I've heard from babies through the FB group we're both in. She's in at the moment following a bleed yesterday, and might have a CS as her baby is currently transverse. At the moment they're both fine and being well cared for.

Could be a busy week!

kitkatkaty87 · 22/02/2015 08:31

I'm probably a bit late to this thread but please can I join! I need some company! I'm 40+6 today with no signs of little one coming. Booked in for reflexology, accupressure and sweep all in one appointment on Wednesday and then if nothing induction on Friday :s was hoping he'd come this weekend while dh is off work but doesn't look like that will happen now. Congratulations to all who have had their babies and good luck to those still waiting. X

Zsazsabinks · 22/02/2015 10:11

Congratulations Blank! Fabulous news, can't wait to hear the story. You're enjoying those newborn cuddles! Flowers

Hazel88, I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday if we don't get news before! Watch 'Call the Midwife' tonight with a large glass of wine, maybe that will get things moving!

Good to hear how babies is getting on, hope she's feeling OK and for some lovely news soon.

Hi Kikatkaty87. You must be so fed up!! They never come when you want them to and it's so annoying not knowing when it's going to happen!

bambi07 · 22/02/2015 10:45

Massive congratulations blank, such wonderful news and well done. Hi kitikatkaty I will keep my fingers crossed for a sudden appearance today for you and for you Hazel. Flowers

Grinningcat · 22/02/2015 10:45

40 + 1 and still no sign of anything happening. A bit envious of you hazel going in for your induction on Tuesday as I think our due dates are the same. I don't even see my Mw until Tuesday when I guess she'll discuss having a sweep. Thoroughly bored, fed up, and uncomfortable. Although DH has promised me ice cream later.

hazel88 · 22/02/2015 10:47

Thanks ZsaZsa and Tanny, I'm feeling fine just anxious about Tuesday Sad

Welcome kitkat! You must be so fed up! Hope you're not waiting much longer, hopefully your busy day Wednesday will get things going!!
