Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

Look at Cherry though, she had a sweep and was anxious about it being painful, she said it was fine. Plus, it's soon over and done with and is well worth it if it brings on your gorgeous little one and means you don't have to stay pregnant for much longer!!

Pregnancy is an absolutely acceptable reason to punch mil in the face, and anyone else for that matter Wink

Had to settle for 3 pancakes as the mixture didn't allow 4, I guess someone is trying to tell me not to be such a pig Shock

Wow, so this morning at 4:20am I woke DH to say I was hopping into the bath because I couldn't sleep through the niggles. 5:20am DH the absolute hero delivered the 7lb2oz little girlie himself on the bathroom floor!!

Placenta decided to stay in place so I had to go in and have it removed. LOVED the spinal, couldn't feel a thing!

Just arrived home now and introduced baby to her sisters. What a day!!

MrsCorr · 17/02/2015 21:10

ZsaZsa WOWZAS!! That's incredible! Congratulations! You're DH is a legend!
I hope you are enjoying those long awaited newborn cuddles!!

MrsCorr... not exactly looking forward to the sweep but if it starts things up, I'm willing to try anything!! Pinkies crossed for us both!

After having BH that were coming nearly every 8 minutes earlier on.. I'm back to having no symptoms again. This cervix of mine had better be soft tomorrow! Finally finished packing the hospital bags in the last hour so at least something productive will have come out of the hospital visit tomorrow if nothing else!!

Hope there are more middle of the night babies born tonight!

Morning all,

Any news for anyone? Feeling a bit fed up today, had a crap night sleep and was so flipping uncomfortable with a rock hard bump. Woke up with a painless period cramp type feeling which wore off instantly. Feel like D-Day won't ever come and I'm just going to keep getting bigger and more uncomfortable Sad turning in bed is virtually impossible. I keep thinking bump won't grow much more but it certainly is, along with the excess amniotic fluid, I'm huge. So excited for the big day but now convincing myself it won't ever get here!!

Good luck at hospital today blank. Hope your cervix is soft (I'll add that to my list of phrases I never thought I'd say!!!).

Nothing here either hazel apart from a stinking cold and generally feeling grumpy!!

hazel88 · 18/02/2015 08:47

Humph Sad

Good luck with your sweeps today ladies, sending you those labour-inducing thoughts! Thanks

Zsazsa what an amazing story. Congratulations, giving us all hope the end is in sight!
What an incredible DH mine would be hopeless in the same situation. X

bambi07 · 18/02/2015 09:27

A reasonable nights sleep last night and woke with horrible period pains and fanny daggers. All stopped now, another walk today I think. 39 weeks today, wahoo! Come on baby! Grin

Cherryblossom200 · 18/02/2015 10:39

Hazel keep your chin up Flowers how many weeks are you now? Xx

hazel88 · 18/02/2015 11:38

Thanks Cherry Smile I'm 39+4. Just been on a cleaning blitz and done the washing, so anytime today would be most convenient haha. Hope you and Amelie are doing well Thanks

Hi ladies, the sweep was totally fine. Thought it was going to be a lot worse! Over in 10 seconds. He said that my cervix is 'suitable' so hoping that things move quickly.

Hope everyone else is ok.

hazel88 · 18/02/2015 13:12

Ooooo sounds promising! Glad it went alright Smile

Zsazsabinks · 18/02/2015 13:41

Oooooooooh, favourable cervixes (pl?!), fanny daggers and nesting....all sound good. My new experience tells me that even if you don't actually tip you over into full on labour, they're still doing something!

NB cuddles are fab, nipples are a bit on the pink side but OK, other DCs seem pretty happy with the newbie too!

Can't seem to quite name her though! She's supposed to be Valentina but we don't know about in the middle!

Bearsinmotion · 18/02/2015 13:55

Hello everyone, and Flowers for zsazsa!

I'm 38+6, on day 3 of maternity leave and very bored! Have done loads of washing and tidying, dyed my hair, cooked lots, and now on series 4 of the West Wing - glad I didn't go on leave any sooner! Absolutely no signs of anything happening, went to GP on Monday who said blood pressure was fine (went up ever so slightly with DD) and to come back next week.

Am just about to make a lasagne for tea and then might have a bath before picking DD up from nursery! Induction booked for a week tomorrow...

bambi07 · 18/02/2015 14:14

Yey to favourable cervix! fingers crossed.
You dont know how broody youve made me feel talking about NB cuddles Zsazsa! Cant wait!
Hi Bears, you have made me feel like a total slob, not done a great deal today, made some pancakes and ate them thats about it. Maybe I should take some inspiration.
Having some more regular twinges but nothing conclusive yet am walking around to encourage things to progress. Come on baby. x

MrsCorr · 18/02/2015 14:24

Have my sweep in an hour. I know the sweep itself isn't meant to be uncomfortable but it's the same midwife who I've seen every few weeks for about 6 months! Making me feel strange about her looking at my fanjo then my face again lol Blush feel like it would be better if it was someone I didn't know, immature I know but that's the truth.
Glad yours went well blank, have a feeling my cervix won't be suitable. I am convinced I'll need to be induced next week so have a list of questions to ask midwife & we're going to book the date today Grin
Zsazsa I love Valentina Smile
I've been off work now since 37 weeks so nearly 4 weeks. Have been organised for the baby for weeks so have now filled my days watching all 7 seasons of sons of anarchy!

Bearsinmotion · 18/02/2015 15:09

Grin.

Thing is, I am usually a slob, seem to have acquired a nesting instinct burst of energy.

Good luck with the sweep MrsCorr!
